It’s almost move-in day for college freshmen across the country! Sure, some dorms are nicer than others (my freshman-year room featured a dormer that left me constantly hitting my head on the 4-foot ceiling) but they all have the same basic elements: white walls, a dresser, a bed, a desk.  The fun part? Making it your own. The challenge? It all has to be temporary.

Since the white walls are there to stay, add color with super-saturated brights, like this easy-to-create artwork from Design*Sponge or a confetti-hued geometric pillow. Or fill a colorful terrarium with succulents that will survive even if you forget to water them until midterms. (Just kidding, water them once every week or two.)
