• Tell Your Friends

We all know that relationships are about compromise. Some things are easy to agree on — he gets to choose the next restaurant for date night if he sits with you through your favorite chick flick. But, how exactly do you compromise when it comes to decorating your home — more specifically, your bedroom? You may not think your clashing styles can live in harmony, but by combining just the right amount of each style and incorporating elements you both love, it can work. To get started, follow the tips below, create a board on Pinterest and pin your and your partner’s favorite bedroom decor. Don’t forget to name your board #ChoiceisYours and submit it here for a chance to win a TEMPUR-Choice™ Supreme Mattress and a Personal Design Consultation with Grace Bonney of Design Sponge.*

Use Your Favorite Colors
You love blue hues and he loves warmer tones, so combine them. You’ll be surprised at how many colors pair well together. And if you still can’t stand your favorite colors in one space, go with a neutral you can agree on and add each color in small doses.

Combine Masculine + Feminine Patterns
Basic stripes work well with many different patterns. Cover an accent wall with feminine floral patterns and add masculinity with striped window treatments so both of you are happy.

Design by Anastasia Faiella

Hang Artwork
If you place a piece of art or image of your favorite vacation spot front and center, you’ll both love spending time in the bedroom.

Design by Benjamin Cruz

Add Some Romance
Who doesn’t love a little romance? Bring in dreamy elements, such as a canopy bed with sheer curtains and ambient lighting.

    I pick A.
Blue too dark. C fights wall paper design.

Love the picture of the ocean and the bedroom also has an ocean view…

Combine masculine and feminine: Rosy hue on right wall and window covers clashes with the golden tan in the wallpaper on the left. Looks too much like a retirement community that hasn't updated since the mid 70's. (And, I love the new wallpapers.)

The bed in the 1st picture is advertised in the September issue of HGTV magazine. I cannot find who sells this bed. Sent a letter to the HGTV furniture.com, they don't know of the bed and don't know where to buy it. Why would you promote a piece of furniture that is not for sale anywhere?

I lime the idea of having masculine furniture and feminine bedding. Couple that with a neutral wall color and personal artwork for a great compromise in the master bedroom..
