Congratulations to this giveaway’s random winner, CPlusE, whose most successful costume to date was a gypsy. Come back on October 4 for another great giveaway.

Halloween is my absolute favorite holiday. I love it all: Decking out the yard with completely over-the-top decor, dressing up as someone else in a fun Halloween costume and greeting friends with intentionally-creepy food and cocktails. Plus, any spider webs that might get missed just add to the spooky vibe.

With just over a month left until the big day, it’s time to start putting up Halloween decorations and planning parties. That’s why we’re giving away this party prize pack from Grandin Road, an online style retailer that cares even more about Halloween than I do. Read on to see the whole giveaway list and enter for a chance to win this prize.

My favorite costume was a letter carrier who was being bit by a dog. I pinned a big fluffy dog to the seat of my pants and of course a little blood.

My favorite was way back when, in third grade. My mom made me a table. Yes. A table. It was made of cardboard, covered with a table cloth, and fully set for four with a whole in the middle for my head; I was the beautiful centerpiece! Wish I had a photo to share.

Mt favorite costume has to be when I dressed up as Rapunzel. I have the wig and made a purple tutu. I also own a plush Pascal. However, that might change after this halloween. I am planning on being a unicorn. I have a realistic unicorn mask that I'm going to wear with a white glitter t-shirt that I'm making and silver tights. Its going to be magical

My best costume (idea) would be dressing my 3 kids up as the Mystery Gang. My oldest (who happens to be a book worm) was Velma, my middle daughter who is a bit of a diva was Daphne, and my son who was just 6 months out was Scooby! Cutest. group. EVER.

The best halloween costume I ever made was a flashing stop sign. My husband and I went as full flashing stop signs. We got the parts from his father who worked for the city I live in and he gets things from the city junk yard. They are very handy. Some how they hooked the up with batteries and things and we were a go

My best costume idea that i ever made was when I dressed as a snorkeler. I work black leggings and a black long sleeve top. I sewed a zipper down the front of the top to make it look more like a wet suit, and I wore a bathing suit underneath. I made flippers out of orange foam paper. I wore snorkeling goggles. I also arrived to the party with my hair wet and any time it would get dry, I would go to the bathroom and wet my hair in the sink again hahaha.

I love Halloween, but the year after I went through a divorce, I had put on weight and wasn’t feeling very festive. My friends convinced me to dress up anyway. Having little to go on and little that fit, I decided on something comfortable – my pj’s! I wore comfy pajamas and a fluffy bathrobe. I then used a wire hanger, a pair of black panty hose, and some glue to fashion a pair of wings. I spent $3 on a headband with bug antennas and I was ready. The complete costume – a bed bug! It was comfortable, cheap, and I had pockets to put my keys in. The bonus: I ran into a man I had a crush on as a teenager that night. We hadn’t seen each other in years. Four years later, we’re married and happy as pie. :)

My best costume was when I surprised my "pirate" boyfriend by being his parrot…he didn't like it that I latched onto his costume idea but my friends loved it!

My absolute favorite Halloween costume was Strawberry Shortcake that my Mother purchased for me after months of anxiously awaiting to dress up for the "Big Day" of tricks and treats. To be authentic we gave my hair a rinse with red food coloring which as you know is supposed to wash right out. Well, I do not know what happened, but three days later I still had pinkish highlights to my hair. All the little girls in my class were green with envy and I of course felt like a little princess! P.S. Now I only use food coloring for my cupcakes and Easter eggs!

I bave to sam my favorite costume was actually something my mom sewed for me when I was 9. I was supposed to be a fairy princess (I know, lol) but the costume my mother made was nothing short of spectacular. It was an all white bodice with a floor length skirt. She even made me a wand out of some crafting material.
