Congratulations to this giveaway’s random winner, CPlusE, whose most successful costume to date was a gypsy. Come back on October 4 for another great giveaway.

Halloween is my absolute favorite holiday. I love it all: Decking out the yard with completely over-the-top decor, dressing up as someone else in a fun Halloween costume and greeting friends with intentionally-creepy food and cocktails. Plus, any spider webs that might get missed just add to the spooky vibe.

With just over a month left until the big day, it’s time to start putting up Halloween decorations and planning parties. That’s why we’re giving away this party prize pack from Grandin Road, an online style retailer that cares even more about Halloween than I do. Read on to see the whole giveaway list and enter for a chance to win this prize.

My most memorable costume was a simple sheet ghost when I was five. The eye holes kept slipping so I couldn't see. My mom tied it on top with pink ribbons. I looked like a dog ghost with pink bows around my ears.

My favorite costume ever was a pink princess costume my mom made when I was 10 years old with a feather boa and tiara. She let me "help" and taught me how to sew sequins onto the dress. So of course one section has about 100 more sequins than the others! I still keep that costume in the back of my closet.

My best costume was when I wanted to go as a vampire. I had a green chiffon gown from my Aunt and tried to dye it black, but it came out even better when the dye didn't take all over. It came out looking like green and black mold with some of the chiffon torn. I then found some hairspray that came in white and made a streak in my long hair. With some make-up and fangs, I was all set.

In 2011, I dressed as Hello Kitty! I pieced together a bunch of different items and really pulled it off. It will probably be my favorite costume ever, for the rest of my life!

My favorite costume was from last year. I went as a creepy doll. Just grabbed a baby doll dress from my closet, put my hair in pigtails, and put on some creepy make up!

A beatnik! Black skirt, black turtleneck, black beret, red lipstick and a volume of poetry.

My favorite costume was from about 13 years ago that I actually made, which is defeat for mr because I'm not crafty at all. It was Daphne from Scooby Doo. I found a cheap purple dress and sowed the light purple accent onto it. Put that together with leather "pilgrim" type shoes I found on sale & spray painted purple, a button down lavender shirt to go under the dress, a pair of tights, a green scarf, and red hair paint & there you go~Daphne

I dressed my son up as Woody from Toy Story and put our St Benard mix in a Buzz Lightyear costume. They were a hit around the neighborhood!

When I was about 8 or 9 my sister and I both dressed up as rubiks cubes that we made!

My favorite costume was probably back in the late 90s. I went as a White House intern. I will spare you the inappropriate details, but at the time it was funny (back in my college days).
