Congratulations to this giveaway’s random winner, CPlusE, whose most successful costume to date was a gypsy. Come back on October 4 for another great giveaway.

Halloween is my absolute favorite holiday. I love it all: Decking out the yard with completely over-the-top decor, dressing up as someone else in a fun Halloween costume and greeting friends with intentionally-creepy food and cocktails. Plus, any spider webs that might get missed just add to the spooky vibe.

With just over a month left until the big day, it’s time to start putting up Halloween decorations and planning parties. That’s why we’re giving away this party prize pack from Grandin Road, an online style retailer that cares even more about Halloween than I do. Read on to see the whole giveaway list and enter for a chance to win this prize.

I think the best costume was a last minute one. I put on an old pair of overalls and a flowery girly shirt then cut a wire coat hanger and pig tailed my hair then braided the tails around the wire and bent up the wire so my braids were turned up and went as pipi longstocking. very cute after some rosy cheeks and dark freckles

My favorite was a broken doll raggedy doll. I love doing fun stuff with make up for Halloween. It's also my favorite holiday.

An easy costume idea using black stockings, white gloves and a black garbage bag. Trimming out holes for my arms and head, I put on my CA raisin costume.

I dressed up as Jack Skellington with a bald cap, face make up, a bat at my neckline, black and white clothes resembling his suit, and skeleton gloves. My husband was Beetlejuice. I bought an old gray suit at a thrift shop and used paint to paint big stripes on the suit, a wig and face makeup did the trick. We looked great!

The year I was a "ghostbuster" complete with my snowsuit, cardboard box & pool vacuum hose whatever that was that zapped the ghosts into the box…. of course it ended up being the warmest Hallowe'en in ages, so I was melting inside my snowsuit LOL

I would pick my California Raisons costume from years ago. This year my granddaughters are dressing up as Chuckie and the Bride of Chuckie. Were having alot of fun making this one, I cant wait!

    Dear World,
I absolutely love halloween. I have loved it since I was a child and am excited to find a fine group of people who share my passion. I am still in highschool and it disappoints me greatly the lack of interst my fellow students have for Halloween. It's really not just about the candy, but more about the experience; the creepy feel you get.

It probably wasn't my favorite costume of all time, but I was pretty proud of the Hamster on a Piano costume I made for a friend's party a few years back. If you've never seen the YouTube video, you should search for it, stat!

My most memorable costume was a skeleton when I was 15. I did face makeup and had a bone bodysuit. It was really freaky looking! Wish I had taken photos back then!
