I live in the land of subways and taxis here in NYC, so while I rarely get a chance to drive anymore, I still appreciate the look of license plates. I particularly love vanity plates and the designs on plates that support worthwhile causes. While I may not be behind the wheel anytime soon, these eye-catching license plate crafts mean I can surround myself with road-tested style. Check out my finds and get inspired to snatch up vintage plates the next time you’re thrifting or browsing an online auction site!

The holidays may be over, but that means you have almost a full year to find some vintage plates and copy this rustic tree look from Donna Williams of Funky Junk Interiors. The burlap garland is a perfect homespun touch and picks up the faded palette of the plates.

Speaking of Donna of Funky Junk Interiors, she put another vintage plate to good use on this toilet paper holder! It’s such a simple concept (a vintage plate screwed into a wooden crate), but it totally makes the whole room come together.

The toilet paper holder is my favorite. I have an out house by the barn to keep the traffic down at the main house. This will be a great addition!

I like the License Plate Map. I'm not sure exactly what I would attach the License Plates too. That I will have to search for.

The christmas tree idea is perfect for my husbands collection of Hallmark cars that he has received one each of the last 23 years.

I was thinking could make an outside window flower ( Silk flowers) bed out of them.

I love the idea of cutting out the letters. The magnets are cool and totally something I would do! But there are so many other ideas. What about a sign or name plates for the kids rooms! Now I've got to go find some plates ;)

I like the toilet paper holder–and also the rustic tree. The lady at Funky Junk Interiors is creative. I know a lady in my area who makes birdhouses from old license plates. They're clever, too.

I "covered" an old wooden box with plates from years of family members….like my Mom, h.s. graduation year, etc. You can find old plates at flea markets.

Neat blog! Is your theme custom made or did you download it
from somewhere? A theme like yours with a few simple tweeks would really
make my blog jump out. Please let me know where you got your design. Many thanks

I make State of Michigan shaped license plate wall hangings.
