Cherry red lips, bright red nails, red pumps — this simple and unexpected splash of color can transform an ordinary outfit in a snap. The same goes for interiors. Just look at that glossy red front door below. It gives the entryway an entirely new personality and character that wouldn’t be achieved with plain white. And let’s be honest, can you even imagine an ice cream sundae without a cherry on top?

Cherries for Mood Board Monday? I'll bite — as long as it's cherry pie, an exotic drink with a cherry on top, a swirled frosting cupcake, a generous slice of fruitcake or just a bowl of freshly picked sweet cherries.

Like a bowl of cherries, live, laugh and enjoy the sweet mysteries of life — and go with red for a vibrant splash of color, just for the fun of it!

When visiting family, one of my brothers started snickering when he eyed my coats and my obvious penchant for red. Given the unpredictable weather, I had brought an L.L. Bean red quilted barn jacket with its chocolate brown corduroy collar, along with a Michael Kors nautical red mid-length trench coat with giant shiny silver round buttons.

Kayla, thanks for whetting my appetite with today’s cherry red!
