On every trip to High Point Market, I try to visit a few new-to-me designer showrooms in addition to old favorites. A standout on my recent trip was Design Legacy, a new-to-the-trade business featuring quirky vintage-inspired pieces, custom fabrics and amazing, inspiring vignettes. Here’s one I loved from this spring’s showing:

The fabric on the sofa and the window treatments features vintage-inspired botanical prints, and the space deftly combines shades of lavender, orchid, emerald and celadon for a pattern-heavy vignette that manages not to look too busy. A loosely-drawn Greek key pattern on the upholstered coffee table complements the romantic florals.

Not into the floral-on-floral look? Try one element, like a large-scale vintage botanical print or one patterned pillow, and see how it infuses spring energy into your home.

Okay, so I'm not so big on bright floral prints myself, Liz, if they're toned down a bit and tropical in nature, like palm fronds and flower leis, count me in. For that matter, anything tropical!

I have always loved the combination of green and lilac and used it in my guest room years ago. I'm not one bit tired of it and surprised that I'm now see it comiing to the fore.

Everything eventually comes back to being a trend, but some combinations never go out of style! This one is definitely very timeless.
