While you embrace the Fourth of July with tasty seasonal fare and vibrant fireworks, don’t forget about a festive, signature party beverage. With the summer heat bearing down, these icy concoctions will certainly hit the spot.

Star-Spangled Spiked Smoothie

Ingredients

1 ounce vodka
1 cup mixed berries (fresh or frozen)
1 8-ounce container vanilla yogurt
coconut flakes, for garnish

Instructions

Combine vodka, berries and yogurt in a blender and blend until smooth. Garnish with blueberries and coconut flakes.

Lady Liberty Lemonade

Ingredients

2 ounces triple sec
2 ounces limoncello
1 handful raspberries
2 ounces mint leaves
dash of grenadine
juice of two lemons
club soda
raw sugar

Instructions

Add raspberries and mint to the bottom of the glass and sprinkle raw sugar on top. Muddle these ingredients until it has the appearance of jam.

Add triple sec, limoncello and lemon juice to the glass. Add a dash of grenadine, ice and top if off with club soda. Stir and serve with a sprig of fresh mint on top.

Blue Raspberry Fizzies

Ingredients

3/4 ounce vodka
5 ounces champagne
1/4 ounce blue curacao liqueur
sparkling sugar for rim
raspberries and cranberries for skewer garnish

Instructions

Wet the rim of the glass with a lime wedge and dip in sparkling sugar. Add vodka, champagne and blue curacao liqueur. Skewer raspberries and cranberries for garnish.

    Some very cool ways to welcome the summer heat, Kayla. I'll definitely be ready to celebrate the 4th of July with these awesome thirst-quenchers.

    I'd say that after sipping down a healthy and stealthy Star-Spangled Spiked Smoothie, a luscious Lady Liberty Lemonade and a true Blue Raspberry Fizzy I'd be ready to get up and sing the entire National Anthem — though I might not remember all the details of the twilight's last gleaming by the dawn's early light. ^_^
