Everyone has beaches on the brain! According to Yahoo, people are still eager to plan excursions to the ocean, as beach searches are off the charts this month. I can definitely relate. Though I live in New York now, I grew up in Huntington Beach, CA, so summer will always mean one thing to me: spending as much time at the beach as humanly possible. I usually head home once the air starts turning humid, but this is the first summer I’ve spent away from the West Coast. It’s certainly a change from what I’m used to, but it’s exciting to have a new summer experience. (I even visited my first East Coast beach last week!) For those of you who, like me, wish you could wake up to a beautiful beach everyday, here are 8 waterfront bedrooms from HGTV FrontDoor to dream about.
Private Island Retreat
The first stop on our fantasy tour is on the private Wakaya Island of Fiji, where the likes of Celine Dion, Jim Carrey, and even Bill Gates frequent. This bedroom is part of the Lawedua estate, which was designed to create the ultimate indoor/outdoor experience. Mission accomplished — this view makes it feel like you’re practically in the ocean.
Surreal in St. Barts
The contemporary bedroom of this villa in St. Barts has large open-air doorways that lead to an outdoor patio and pool area. The beautiful dark wood beams cast shadows in the room, making it feel nothing short of dreamlike.
Out in the Open
Palm trees are practically climbing into this stunning tropical bedroom in Paia, Hawaii. The white canopy adds a nice whimsical touch to the room and the wall-to-wall windows ensure no inch of the gorgeous view is spared.
Fit for a Queen
In case the beautiful hardwood floors, luxurious linens and stunning views don’t make this room impressive enough…guess what? This is Beyonce’s vacation rental in Kailua, Hawaii. Enough said.
There are two master suites in this Malibu mansion. Each has a vaulted wood ceiling, fireplace, dual walk-in closet and gorgeous view. They are positioned at either end of the house, designed to catch the sunrise one side and sunset on the other. As if the California views weren’t perfect enough to begin with, right? (Jealous? Who, me?)
The guest bedroom of this waterfront home in Sarasota, Florida keeps the decor simple with a few nautical touches. The understated design allows the beautiful view of the Gulf, seen through the large glass doors or from the private balcony, to serve as the room’s focal point.
Pretty in Pink
The soft rosy linens and upholstery nicely complement the dark wood details of this beachfront bedroom in Anini, Hawaii. Oh yeah, and that stunning view isn’t too bad either.
Hot and Cold
Even when summer is over and the weather begins to turn cold, you can still enjoy a gorgeous view of Maine’s coast from this contemporary bedroom. All you have to do is get a fire going and gaze out the floor to ceiling windows. Talk about a dream!
