HGTV Handmade’s Crafters on YouTube (L to R): MegAllanColeCrafts, HGTVCrafternoon, simpleDIYs and Anneorshine

The team over at HGTV Handmade (some of YouTube’s best crafters) had a friendly competition going on with their “White Craft Challenge.” Much like the renowned HGTV Star “White Room Challenge,” where competitors must each decorate an all-white room with very limited supplies, the stars of HGTV Handmade each decorated super snooze-worthy “white” lamps following just two requirements: One, they could only use what they had in their current possession (no trips to the craft store allowed!) and two, when the lamp was finished, it must still be able to function as a light source.

Watch as the crew revealed their completed lamps (then see how you can win them!):

Last week, we gave away Marianne and Meg’s lamps (they’ve already been shipped to their winners!). Today, we’re offering up the lamps crafted by Ann and Julia (below).

Two lucky Design Happens readers will each win a lamp. To enter for a chance to win one, simply leave a comment below. This week’s question: Living room lamps — do you like them to be “matchy-matchy,” or do you prefer them to each have their own look?

You may only comment once to be considered, and you don’t have to purchase anything to win; a purchase will not increase your chances of winning. Odds depend on total number of entries. Void where prohibited by law. Only open to legal residents of 50 U.S., D.C. or Puerto Rico, and you must be at least 18 years of age to win. All entries (comments) must be entered between 3:00 p.m. ET on August 1, 2014 and 3:00 p.m. ET on August 4, 2014. Subject to full official rules. By leaving a comment on the blog, you acknowledge your acceptance to the Official Rules. ARV of each prize: $50.00. ARV of both prizes: $100.00. I like my lamps to match. My room theme uses blue, green and silver as the main colors. The lamps I have are both green and silver so they match! I like having a theme because it brings the whole room together!

I prefer lamps to be kind of their own design. This also makes it a statement piece. Keep up the wonderful DIY ideas! You guys Rock!

I like my lamps to be different in each room but prefer the lamps to match within a room so that it seems like a comtinuous theme. I really like your videos and hope you keep making awesome DIYs! :)

First off I want to say wonderful blog! I had a quick question which I’d like to ask if you do
not mind. I was curious to know how you center yourself and clear your head prior to
writing. I have had trouble clearing my mind in getting my thoughts
out. I do take pleasure in writing but it just seems like the first 10 to 15 minutes are
usually wasted just trying to figure out how to begin. Any suggestions or hints?

    Thank you!

I prefer go the lamp to match so that they compliment each other but also don’t take away from one another

  6. Amy says:

I think it should have its own unique design, but have color coordination with the color scheme of the living room!

  7. Marcela says:

I would like them to be a bit "matchy-matchy" but to have their own flare and style

  8. Madison P says:

    Ignore my other comment.

I don't think they have to be matchy-matchy, but they at least have to have a common color palate or design. :-)

  9. I have examine a handful of positive things listed here. Definitely cost bookmarking for returning to. I actually big surprise exactly how a whole lot test you placed to make the sort of superb informative site.

  10. Narani says:

I like the lamps to play off of the overall design of the room.
