This week’s mystery item is action packed. Check out the awesome pop up motion.

I’ll get the ball rolling. Perhaps this is the world’s tiniest submarine?

Now it’s your turn. Take a guess, and come back tomorrow for the answer.

And the answer to yesterday’s “What the…?”

Kathleen and Holly know a handy tool when they see one.  It’s a trash can called the Urbano Eco Can. This clever design is a fun solution for always having a garbage bag handy. Plus, it’s made in the USA.

Though, who wouldn’t love to see some colorful yarn poking out of these?

Don’t forget to send us intriguing finds at designhappens@hgtv.com if you come across a design mystery that you think will stump our readers.

I get the feeling this object was made specifically for a mystery post. See how it’s shaped like a “W” for “What”?

So go ahead, bring your “A” game, and give us your answers. As always, come back tomorrow, and we’ll tally the results.

If your definition of smooth sailing means cocktails at the ready, you would have had a leg up on the answer to this week’s “What the…?”.

It’s a…1930s brass drink server for use on a yacht.

We thought we’d have you on the line for a while, but leave it to a ChicModern gal to know about an accessory that combines sailing, cocktails and physics.

Let’s keep playing. If you have any great mysterious finds, send them our way at designhappens@hgtv.com.

Hopefully you didn’t fly the coop before you guessed that this week’s “What the…?” is a stylish structure where chickens can roost.

While I bet a rabbit, guinea pig, cat or any small pet would feel pretty spiffy in this abode,  Heather was first and right on target with her hen house guess. Officially, it’s a Breed Retreat designed by Frederik Roijé.

It would make a pretty sleek desk too, wouldn’t it?

Don’t forget to e-mail us at designhappens@hgtv.com if you have any great design head scratchers for our readers.

This is clearly an assembly of rectangles. From the side view, does the purpose become evident?

Take a gander, and tell us what you think. Then check back tomorrow to see how you fared.
