  5. Anyone know how to contact Mike Holmes? Or how to find specific information on residential building codes? Bought a new home with a VA insured loan. Discovered later (while still in warranty) that the builder did not install exterior sheathing before applying siding. As a result the energy efficiency of the house is about zero! I need to quote specifics if I am to have this problem resolved. The house is in Texas, in a rural semi-rural area. If anyone can help me, I would be very grateful.

  6. Hi: What happen to Sarah Richardson and Candice and David? Where are all the good design people. I am tired of House Hunters. Please let me know. Thanks

    • I agree with you. I'm so sick of House Hunters. And I love Sarah. Why isnt she on anymore?

  7. I just watched an episode of My First Place "Moving In or Matrimony" and at the end when HGTV bought them office furniture there was a blue futon that I'd love to know where they got it and if I could find it online!

  8. I never write like this, but I USED to love HGTV for DECORATING shows and ideas, but I agree with the others…ENOUGH HOUSE HUNTERS and HOUSE HUNTERS INTERNATIONAL already!!!!! The majority of the viewers DO NOT CARE AT ALL about how much money someone else spends on buying a house somewhere else!!!!! PLEASE BRING BACK MORE DECORATING THEMED SHOWS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

cce on March 26, 2012 at 1:31 PM
    • CCE, you might as well "save your breath" or your "typing fingers." They don't care. As a matter of fact the newest show in the real estate/whine line-up is Living Abroad — like we care. They seem to be confusing HGTV with the Travel Channel. If we cared about living abroad, we'd watch the Travel Channel. I have been complaining for over a year and, as you can see, they don't listen because they don't care. Perhaps when the advertisers get wind of how many people have switched channels and they begin pulling the advertising dollars, the HGTV network will do something about the shows. For everyone of us that get on this blog and complain, a million more just switch the channel and never let HGTV know why.

Sandra on March 26, 2012 at 2:25 PM
    • I so agree!!! It's such a bore. Are there more middle income tv viewers or wealthy people who can buy homes in other countries? Move these shows to nonprime hours!!! Nothing makes me change channels from HG to something else faster than International House Hunters!!!

Annette on March 26, 2012 at 10:07 PM
  9. Oh I AGREE!!! We need the idea shows.

Sherrie on March 26, 2012 at 2:21 PM
  10. I couldn't agree more. I am sick SICK of seeing all the House Hunters shows, it is NOT why I USED to watch HGTV.

I miss the old decorating line up and now very rarely watch the channel. Especially with the economy as it stands now, why would I want to watch someone purchase a "second" home when I along with the majority of Americans are trying to make ends meet with the one home we have now. All we want to do is decorate our houses into homes we can enjoy.

SeattleSciren on March 26, 2012 at 3:00 PM
  11. I was very pleased to see so many comments about no more House Hunters/International or shows like million dollar listing – how realistic are those shows for your average viewers??!! Since the 90's I've always watched HGTV for the decorating ideas… I'm a crafter living on social security & part time work so my budget is VERY limited – I want the shows that show ME how to do some of the decorating without having to spend thousands of dollars… I especially miss Design on a Dime – they're all reruns now – & Decorating Cents (my all-time favorite). I realize that maybe some of the hosts got tired of doing the shows or just moved on, but even if you couldn't get the same host – couldn't you get a new host for the old show? Even though Genevieve, David & Candace aren't do-it-yourselfers, I still love their shows & Design Star is wonderful but please, please, PLEASE consider getting more do-it-yourself shows or ones like High-Low Project which gives some wonderful helpful hints on getting what you want for less money.

    • I love House Hunters and House hunters International. So interesting to see how other people live and be able to dream that someday, I could possibly be of those lucky folks. I love the adventure and also am able to see that there are certain areas of the world that are not that expensive. I do love to compare prices across the country and the world.

ann on March 26, 2012 at 6:22 PM
    • High Low Project – one of the best new shows on HGTV. WOULD BE GREAT TO HAVE A NIGHT OF FEMALES– CANDICE, GENEVIEVE, LISA, SABRINA, SARAH (listed alphabetically)

Adrienne on May 8, 2012 at 7:15 PM
  12. Hold on a minute all you people who are against House Hunters/International! I would love to see a lot more International in Europe especially! These in particular, show us how to live in less space with less money in homes and apartment buildings from before our country existed! This is a lesson in how to build things that last and then take care of them. And the beauty cannot be matched! I'm all for bringing back some of the good oldies, and I'd rather watch an aquarium on TV than all the reruns, but how about making HH and HHI better instead of throwing the baby out with the bathwater!

  13. HDTV please don't take these negative comments too seriously, your a great channel!! Egypt is a great break from what seems like hundreds of shows with Sandra. Sandra was a fine host but really like the change. While I agree that House Hunters is definitely your fall back show I love seeing the million dollar rooms and million dollar kitchens, etc. It gives us regular people a glimpse into a world we would otherwise never have an opportunity to see. Would really like to see new episodes of Love It or List It and new Holmes on Homes and Holmes Inspection.
So overall HDTV your doing a great job, thank you for the programming.

James on March 26, 2012 at 6:22 PM
    • Switch to the Travel Channel if you want to see more international shows. HGTV is SUPPOSED to be about home and gardening.

Sandra on March 27, 2012 at 7:25 AM
  14. HGTV is a staple in my home just like water. I have learned so much that I am confident in starting just about any project and the knowledge when to know I need to hire someone to do it.
I loved House Hunters when I was looking for my home and I still watch it often but can/will you get some more "Yard Crasher" type shows on the playlist. I have just torn out my 24×24' deck an trying to decide what to do. thank you

Ja Lee on March 26, 2012 at 9:19 PM
  15. I learned to love HG with Lisa Laorta and the first decorating show designers. I've watched the show become more about house hunting and less about decorating, especially with middle income families in mind. How to shows on updating kitchens and baths are a couple examples. A show centered on how much color can change a room. How to make you own closet storage (not just wire shelving) or other simple projects. One week give the plan, general directions, materials and tools needed. The next week have the project built on air. Take one room and show three different ways to decorate it on $1,000 (tastefully). Any of these ideas beat International House Hunters!!! During prime time especially. Two good new shows are Love It Or List It and Property Brothers. Please add at least one week night of decorating shows during prime time!!!

  16. I really like love it or list it…but whats up with the homeowners always blaming Hilery for their houses issues..when they come across something major wrong with the house the homeowner acts like its her fault..thats just wrong..she has great selfcontrol I dont think I could be so nice..then they expect her to work wonders with whats left..she does a great job..

  17. Not sure if this is the right site but I LOVE DREW & JONATHAN (The Property Brothers). I am hooked on the show and can't wait to see it. I try to watch them all. You make such a difference in people's lives by what you create for them. You are amazing and should be the WINNER of the contest cause you are WINNERS. Thank for what you do.

  18. Million dollar rooms is a great example of what is wrong with the me..me..me mentality and a prime example of GREED at its worst. How do people spend hundreds of thousands of dollars on rooms and put it on national television while people are struggling to keep their home and feed their children. Municipalities are cutting education and various social programs that save lives. Shame on you HG tv for even giving these self indulgent greedy individuals air time. I have enjoyed your programming until I watched this show, which I find completely appalling.

  20. "Love it or List it" Love the concept of the show, but THEY NEED NEW HOSTS. She is annoying and He's a joke! Seriously, every show 2 homes that REALLY DON'T MEET THEIR NEEDS before the ONE that does. Come on we're not stupid! and Her ……… Not once a property being renovated WITHOUT ANY PROBLEMS CREEPING UP. 21. I want to talk about hedge funds that Sociologist, author, and financial journalist Alfred W. Jones is credited with coining the phrase "hedged fund", in contrast to prior nomenclatures, and is often erroneously credited with creating the first hedge fund structure in 1949

insider buying on April 12, 2012 at 11:17 AM
  22. A hedge fund is a fund that can take both long and short positions, use arbitrage, buy and sell undervalued securities, trade options or bonds, and invest in almost any opportunity in any market where it foresees impressive gains at reduced risk

  23. I hope i am not the only person who cannot stand Mike Holmes, seems like Sunday on HGTV all day and all night is Mike Holmes, i do not watch HGTV at all on sundays anymore, as mr. holmes is all that is on. How about a little variety of programming for thos of us who do not want to worship at his shrine all day long.

susie on April 16, 2012 at 3:12 AM
    • I agree. I like Holmes but not all night. Sunday evenings is not HGTV viewing in my house. Much too much House Hunters also.the programming person needs to be fired. Love the men of Wednesday nights and used to love Saturdaynights with Candice, Genevieve and David and Curb Appeal the Block. Bring back to good shows and more variety please!

  24. Can't stand this new love it or leave it. Hillary is absolutely obnoxious. Really, I want to see s design show not listening to fighting and arguing. Ughhhhh

Ruby on April 16, 2012 at 9:48 PM
  25. I also do not like love it or list it but for different reasons. I thing Hillary is fine and stands on her head to give these couples what they want, but with any kind of remodeling there is always problems that can come up, I know I've been through this. I think the couples are obnoxious and very rude! At the end of the show they are all nice and sweet, how two face! This just isn't a pleasant show to watch and I hope no one wants to watch it.

Diane on April 17, 2012 at 2:47 AM
    • Love it or List it is a great show. It is the only show that combines design and house hunting. I love the show but I agree that the couples can be rude and their must haves list to stay sometimes ridiculous considering the budget.

  29. Ok….WHAT have you done with Candice Olsen???? And David Bromsted???? My two favorite and they have just vanished!!! You CAN'T tell me they didn't have a huge following! You are overdoing the Househunter thing and Holmes on Holmes. Like a previous comment from someone, I don't watch HDTV on Sunday anymore, because it's all Holmes, pretty much. I want CANDICE and DAVID!!!!!!

  30. Typical fund derivatives might be a call option on a fund, a CPPI on a fund, or a leveraged note on a fund. More complicated structures might include auto-call features guaranteeing that if the derivative reached a certain value that value was locked in, on top of an initial minimum value guarantee at issuance. Maturities might range from three to ten years, or more rarely multiple decades.

  31. I would just like to say how happy I am that Curb Appeal is back on. This is the very first show I watched on HGTV and it's still good. Love to see what John has done with the various homes once he's finished. I also enjoy watching Kim interact with the home owners. She seems so sweet. I notice, too, that Chip Wade is still in the ads for the program but he's no longer on. I was wondering what happened to him. In saying that, I'm now wondering what happened to the original host of Curb Appeal. He was so funny. I think part of the success with this show was due to him. Let's hope they keep it on.
