I just returned from the beach where it was all seashell accents, palm prints and driftwood decor. I’m back home now, but can’t let the summer end just because vacation is over. To keep the dreamy summer look coming, here are some of my favorite driftwood projects.
I’ve done a few driftwood projects in the past, and in yesterday’s video for HGTV Handmade, I show you how to make an easy illuminated driftwood centerpiece for your summer entertaining. Add some shells and a Mexican blanket as a tablecloth, and you have a whole tablescape that brings bohemian summer vibes to the party.
Driftwood is really such an easy material to work with, and can easily be hung on the wall. In this video on my channel, Meg Allan Cole Crafts, or MACC, I created a simple summer driftwood wall garden using air plants.

The heat is up, the schools are out, and I am so ready for a trip to the beach. Unfortunately, my vacation is still weeks away. At least I can pretend I’m on an island getaway with this unique coastal driftwood spoon set. Maybe I was inspired by Allie’s Driftwood Crafts, but there is something about these spoons that I just adore.
What do you think? Are these sea-worthy spoons calling your name?
If you read my last post, you know I’ve been daydreaming of an exotic vacation. But — since I won’t be travelling to a gorgeous beach anytime soon, I’m thinking I’ll bring the beach to me. I love coastal decor, and I love budget-friendly decor even more. That’s why I’m going crazy over these driftwood crafts. If you’re lucky enough to be heading to the beach soon, stroll the shores for pretty pieces of driftwood. If not, try your nearest lake for some driftwood and simply pretend your fabulous finds are from a beachy shoreline.
I absolutely adore this colorful driftwood key hanger. Drift on over to Free People’s blog to see how it’s made.
This beautiful Herringbone Driftwood Table is for the heavy-duty DIYers. Although Sarah’s tutorial includes quite a few steps, the end product is totally worth the work.
