–UPDATE: It happened. We (and you) can now watch Daphne on live stream video. Take a look!–
A mama duck (what’s the correct name for a female duck anyway?) has laid eggs in a front planter here at HGTV headquarters. Daphne, as she calls herself, has faithfully been sitting on her eggs for over a week now. Because of who we are and what we do, we thought it only appropriate to create some shelter for Daph.

The sign reads: “Do not touch the eggs!”
As of Friday afternoon, HGTV facilities has placed a bowl of water by her nest, built a canopy (or “quack shack”) to shade her from the blazing sun and constructed a waddle ramp so once the eggs hatch, the little duckies can come down easily.
There’s talk that on Monday morning, a live stream camera will be installed so the office staff can watch Daphne from our desks. I worried that she may not appreciate the invasion of privacy, but now that I’ve been informed of her regular Tweets, I believe she can’t get enough of all this attention.
Any thoughts on what we should provide Daphne next?
