Update: Thanks for playing, D-Happ readers! This month’s grand prize winner is Rosemary B, who says she’ll spend Mother’s Day grilling out with her husband, children and grandchildren. Congratulations, Rosemary — six months of flowers are headed your way!
Runners-up Pat W. and Helen have won a three-month flower subscription, while Gremol, Mel, LJsMommy, Julianna, Donna and Nancy W. have each won one double bouquet of their choice. Happy Mother’s Day, all! Come back on June 7 for another Freebie Friday giveaway.
Mother’s Day is around the corner, and if you’re like me, you’re still searching for that perfect gift. Fresh flowers are a go-to Mother’s Day gift for a reason: They’re beautiful, they smell great and they’re easy to deliver to Mom even if you can’t make it home for the big day. That’s why we partnered with online subscription flower service The Bouqs to give 8 lucky winners free bouquets — and why we’re starting our May Freebie Fridays giveaway a week early to make sure the flowers arrive by Mother’s Day.

Now that spring has finally arrived, the time is right to shake up your decor. Along with new paint colors and spring cleaning to-dos, why not update your home by starting an original art collection? It’s easier than you think — and this month’s giveaway with affordable original art retailer The Tappan Collective can help.

Update: Congratulations to our winner Christy, who says her spring DIY plans include painting the entry room walls and the front door. Come back on April 5 for another great giveaway!
We all have those DIY projects that don’t go quite according to plan: paint colors that looked so much greener on the chip, cut pieces of wood that are a quarter-inch too small for that coffee table, stencils gone awry. If you’ve ever wished you could press the reset button on your weekend task, this month’s giveaway is for you.
Vecco Studio offers a DIY alternative to expensive designer rugs: You choose from 13 colorants, various rug sizes and more than 150 stencils to create your own designs. The best part? If you don’t like the finished product, you can simply vacuum up the designs and start again. Take as many do-overs as you need, then spray on sealant to make your handiwork permanent.
Ready to design your own carpet or rug? We’re giving one lucky winner a $300 gift card to VeccoStudio.com, so you can choose the rug size, color sprays and design options that suit your home and decor.

My kitchen gets quite the workout every December, since I spend most of my free time whipping up homemade gifts, crafting the perfect appetizer for that holiday party and baking entirely too many Christmas cookies.
If your kitchen is anywhere near as tired as mine by December 31, you’ll love this month’s giveaway. In celebration of the 40th anniversary of Magimix and the first food processor, we’re giving away 5 Premium Collection Food Processors from Magimix by Robot Coupe — perfect for everything from doughs to dips.
This new special edition is not yet for sale in the United States, and comes with all available accessories and kits, including a citrus press, juice extractor, mash and puree kit, dough bowl and more. Best of all, the 5 lucky winners will get to choose their favorite from 9 bright, cheery colors.

For the final of four Halloween-themed giveaways from Grandin Road, we wanted to know your best DIY Halloween decorating tip or find out what monster is the scariest and why. Based on your comments, I think the next horror movie should be a showdown between a horde of zombies and Freddy Krueger.
Design Happens fans also shared many helpful and fun decorating tips. I especially liked this one from HeatherM, as she offers a practical use for oscillating and box fans outside of summer: “Fans blowing cobwebs and black drapery fabric is pretty scary…when you can’t see around the corner and something… happens… out of the corner of your eye!”
Perhaps this week’s winner, Jill B., will go with a monsters of a Greek mythology Halloween decorating theme…cyclops, hydra and gorgons like Medusa.
Jill B. has two weeks to reply to our messages before we pick another random winner.
For our September 30th giveaway, we wanted you to tell us about your Halloween decorating style. While your responses ranged from Rob Zombie horror (Have you seen his Woolite commercial?) to “pumpkin chic” , the majority of Design Happens fans go for kooky and kid-friendly. (Still, quite a few of you are traditionalists, committed to Dracula, Frankenstein and other classic horror spooks.)
Our winner, Kellie, didn’t share her decorating style, but she did say that Velma and Evander “would be so perfect” on her front porch. And would send neighborhood kids “flocking to”, not fleeing from her house. We’re confident Grandin Road‘s Interactive Talking Halloween Busts will do exactly that. As Teresa noted, “two heads are better than one.” That includes this stone-faced chatty pair with their flashing red eyes.
Kellie has two weeks to reply to our message to claim Velma and Evander before we randomly select a new winner.
Looks like from your responses to our September 23rd giveaway, Design Happens fans go all out for Halloween. Time to unpack those electric jack-o-lanterns, cauldrons, candelabras, witch hats, giant cobwebs, spider wreaths, gargoyle door knockers, inflatable black cats, tombstones and more. Before you know it, October 31st will be here.
Mary W is one step closer to having her home ready for trick-or-treaters. She’s the winner of the Grandin Road Animated Halloween Haunted Magic Mirror. Congrats Mary W!
Remember, our Freebie winners always have two weeks to reply to our messages before we pick another random winner.
Growing up, the first thrill and chill of Halloween was when my mother brought decorations down from the attic, and the first to go up was a set of glow-in-the-dark giant paper skeletons my brother and I would hang on our bedroom doors, their bony arms and legs posed however we liked. To get our Design Happens readers ready for October 31st, we’re giving away four Fridays of awesomely frightful Halloween decorations from Grandin Road.
This week’s prize is their Animated Halloween Haunted Magic Mirror. It looks like an elegant mirror from a haunted castle, even more so when you step in front of it…
…that’s when a ghoulish apparition appears! This ghastly reaper moves and talks, begging to be let our of his reflective lair.
Grandin Road wants one lucky Design Happens winner to take home this Halloween mirror. To be entered for a chance to win this super cool and creepy Halloween decoration, simply leave us a comment in the field below before 12/11c Monday, August 26.
This week’s question: When you pull out your Halloween decorations, what goes up first?
