Around our house, we need heavy-duty stockings to hold what … Santa … brings. Somehow our vintage-inspired stockings have held DVDs, chocolate, candles, makeup, magazines, CDs and more. That’s why I love these stockings made from old winter sweaters. You can tell they’re ready to prove their strength and durability. And they don’t require knitting skills, so you can get them up on your mantel in a snap.

Daily Delight: Boots = Christmas Stockings

Yahoo! Web Trend Expert Carolyn Clark reports that “boots” is a spiking search term right now. Apparently, in the last seven days, women especially have been scouring the internet looking for both “cowboy boots” and “rain boots.”

So sure, ladies are probably on the hunt for boots that will look good on their feet — but, what about boots for their Christmas mantels? Say what? Yep, you heard me — boots as stockings!

Ready or not, Christmas is coming. In fact, it’s almost upon us which, of course, means there are stockings to stuff. I searched the blogosphere and found 5 cute (and easy) crafts that you can quickly create to fill ‘em up.

Brenda Ponnay of the Alpha+Mom blog says these adorable snowglobe soaps ”are just about as easy as making a batch of homemade popsicles except you get to melt things in the microwave.” A cute craft that involves melting and is easy to create — sign me up!
