I first got a glimpse of Nightwood furniture whenJen at The Haystack Needle featured them on her blog. After scrolling through their image gallery I quickly become enamored with their deconstructed look and re-purposed pieces. Here is one of my favorites, their hand-embroidered Virginia Woolfe chair:
The company has had a pop up shop in the past but today is opening their first retail location in Brooklyn, NY. I look forward to seeing more of Nightwood’s whimsical, and somehow ethereal, pieces as they grow.
We’re starting off this first day of November with our new feature, Daily Delight. Hi, I’m HGTV.com’s (new!) managing editor, Lili Zarghami, and each day I’m going to share beautiful and inspiring images with you.
Our first Delight is a tufted turquoise chair that Jen Jafarzadeh L’Italien featured on her blog, The Haystack Needle. Her friend, photographer Charlotte Jenks Lewis, saw the potential in this once-drab chair on Craigslist and transformed it with the help of a local upholsterer. The bold result is stunning.
I’d love to hear what you think of our debut Delight. And to share your awe-inspiring finds with Design Happens, email me at email@example.com.
