North or South, Dakota is the Place to Be

The fans for North Dakota and South Dakota are making some great arguments for bringing an HGTV Dream Home to their respective states.

“Why not try North Dakota? It is affordable and beautiful.”

“How about the sweeping views of the gorgeous Badlands of western North Dakota? Plenty of spectacular scenery, wildlife galore, great sunsets, clear blue skies. Come explore North Dakota and see what we have to offer!”

“How about the beautiful Black Hills of South Dakota, in the Northern hills near Spearfish, overlooking a lake?”

Great ideas, but the next home’s not coming to either state. Be sure to check back tomorrow for another clue to the location of HGTV Dream Home 2008. I’ll give you a hint: the clue involves something found in this room of the Winter Park home. (No, it’s not that mirror again!)

  8. North Dakota is the place for HGTV 2008 DREAM HOME.North Dakota really is beautiful just everybody thinks its just some hillbilly state. It has the beautiful west and in the east fertile plains. The east has the most fertile ladn in the world. The west has many things to offer to.( so much not enough room to type it all ) So i say North Dakota will be the home of the dream home, the home of the Sioux and the brave (sioux is an indian tribe)

  12. I really like the idea that people are suggesting… More “less expensive” dream homes instead of one that most of us wouldn’t be able to pay the taxes on anyway.
To me, a $250,000 home that I can have input on the finishing details would be a dream come true. Although Linda Woodrum has great ideas I would prefer Devine Design Candace Olson to assist in the design because I like lots of her show ideas.
I did like the secret passageway on the 2005(?) DH. I wouldn’t mind seeing that again.
I also need a Cat Condo instead of a Doggy Dream Home. Jesus took our Sugar dog a couple of years ago and my 20 year old Rascal cat wouldn’t appreciate an unfamiliar dog of any age.
As to location, I prefer MN which was ruled out of the running for 2008 but 2009 is right around the corner. Tell Jack I have a site for him.
