Present and Future HGTV Dream Homes
High in the Colorado Rockies, this feature in the Winter Park HGTV Dream Home will probably get a lot of use, many months of the year. In the next home, maybe not so much.

2008 DreamHome would be in Durham, North Carolina, where glimpse of winter and summer can be admired. It will be in front of lake (natural or man-made on own land) with an in door in-ground swimming pool in the middle of 4-5 acres of fenced land with Vegetables and fruits garden.
Well, since I didn’t win the 2007 Dream Home, I guess i’ll have to win the 2008 (lol). I think the 2008 Dream Home will be on the east coast. The Outer Banks of North Carolina to be exact. That would be nice but honestly I beleive it will be in Florida.
I cannot believe that family members new who won this year home 3 weeks ago. I thought it was going to be at a home at a front door. This year giveaway was a big disappointment. I for one thought they would at do it as a total surprise.
From the clues and looking at the video, it looks like the South Carolina coast (maybe Beaufort?) or the North Carolina coast, but it really, really looks like South Carolina. Lousiana and Mississippi sound like worthy places, but who wants to build Dream Home in a place where a major hurricane has hit recently? It would seem like an insult to those that have lost everything – the money for a Dream Home could be better spent if used to build several real homes for those that need it there.
Jack, I think you could possibly thinking of 2 areas in northern NY,either one are fabulious that have all seasons. They are nthe great and wonderful Adirondacks or Lake Placid. You can lots of enjoyment with all 4 seasons.Anywhere’s you choose will be wonderful I’m sure but just keep NY in mind for in the future if you don’t choose us for 2008. Thank You P.Mancino
Hatteras/Manteo/Ocracoke area, North Carolina
Either of these areas are a DREAM overlooking the coastline!
If I were looking for a home Idaho would be the place. Gods country in my eyes. You ought to think about it take a tour this place will grab your heart and give you peace.
I am thinking Northern California (not holding my breath though), just wish they would tell us already.
Buffalo, hmmm: could that mean that the next Dream Home might be built somewhere along the Buffalo National River here in Arkansas?
If so that would be so wonderful. You could use a fireplace though, at least one or two months out of the year so that makes me wonder.
Lots of great fishing not just on the Buffalo but all over the great state of Arkansas. We are the Natural State after all……
My money is somewhere along the Gulf Coast. There are some BEAUTIFUL area’s along the Gulf Coast and what better way to bring business and income to an area that really needs it then bring this kind of a project in! Go HGTV!
I think I got it!!! Mountain Home, Arkansas!
fcole, am i right, did i win???
ALRIHGT ALREADY! Im sad
( Everyone has the perfect vision of their own dream home with the perfect view, from every angle. Why not build dream homes for the middle or lower class of people. Darn it homes like HGTV are building, the rich can afford to build their own!Why not come down a few million & build homes that most of us can afford! LOL this is still exciting to read all the blogs. Aren’t people just grand!
why not Napa valley….the wine country. it is beautiful there.
i think that the 2008 is going to be in the OC somewhere, probably LAGUNA BEACH or dana point.
Lake Charles, LA
It would be a good idea to put the Dream Home in Lexington,Kentucky or Alanta Georgia so if i win i could live near my family.
How about the Adirondack Mountains in NY. The Lake Placid area is lovely, with good views, and a lot of opportunities for outdoor sports.
It is not too much of a southern state, no palm trees…could it be Michigan? I sure hope so. We have had warm weather here lately too…And we sure do have cold winters for a fireplace to be used. Especially on one of the Great Lakes.
I really think the 2008 dream home should be located in or near Snowflake, Arizona. (Perfect)
hi
I really wanted the house but I am glad for that guy that won it and I am looking forward to a new HGTV Dream Home and I hope to win it what ever it is.
Western Maryland, Garrett county, near Deep Creek Lake would be a beautiful place for a HGTV dream home. Or anywhere in the Alleghany Mountains. Good fishing, Skiing, Boating, depends on what season your in. Breathtaking views, too.
Hot Springs Village, Arkansas. Need I say more?
I’d really like to know where the next Dream Home is located. I tried to win the North Carolina Home last year and this year’s Winterpark Colorado home this year. How about Lake Tahoe!
I think the 2008 HGTV Dream Home will be in California!
its gonna be in the red woods of California..it has warmer climates and there is lots of fishing with red woods,…..i bet i am right!!!!!!
maybe overseas?
I think it’s going to be a beach house in California because it’s warm and you probably won’t need a fireplace too much, there will be lots of fishing, and in the video, it looks like he’s on a beach and you can here waves crashing on the beach in the background.
When are you going to do the give away for 2008?
Based on your clues, I think the 2008 Dream House will either be in Florida again (Marcos Island???) or in Lousiana/Mississippi near Gulf Port. Wherever it is, if we win, we’ll find a way to get there!!!
My guess is Ventura or Santa Barbara County, CA close to the beach if not on it. The noise in the background sounded like traffic to me and you could see the cars going by in the background. It looked like the 101. I grew up there and 90 percent of the coast looks exactly like the video and traffic is abundant. The trees also look like they have been batterred by some offshore winds. I am very interrested to see where it will be. Wherever it is it definately will be a beautiful house.

I think Santa Fe, New Mexico would be a great location for Dream Home 2008. Still close to great skiing in Winter, mild summers and wide open skies.
I think the 2008 Dream House will be somewhere in Texas again.
I think the 2008 HGTV Dream Home will be in Puerto Rico!
THE NEXT DREAM HOME NEEDS TO BE IN ST THOMAS,VI!!
Talk about a dream home…looking over the water, with pool and other amenities….
I am winning that one!
I think that Maui would be the perfect place for a Dream Home give away. kc
I think the next dream home should be near Lake Rathburn in Iowa which is just south of Des Moines
The next DREAM Home Giveaway should be built
at the beautiful South Padre Island at the tip of TEXAS! Looking out to the ocean waters, with a gorgeous water fall pool. What a dream.
I think it will be along the Gulf Coast. Maybe Sanibel or Captiva Islands? That would be the ultimate Dream Home for me!
I think you should share the wealth and build 1 on the east coast, 1 on the west coast and 1 in the central part of the country, make them a little smaller and less expensive, I know you will still make them as awesome as ever. Just a thought…
Have some property on Lake Michigan in Door County Wisconsin wish it were there.
Just read about the Fla Keys; clues all add up…so far. AHHHHH – another DREAM(y) HOME!
The next state that you are talking about is Ohio. IT is the Buckeye state. But I think a home in or about New Bern, North Carolina or Calabash, North Carolina would be perfect.
Well I think that HGTV has overlooked the Lake of the Ozark’s area of Missouri… it is beautiful and for the most part affordable, too… There are a ton of things to do in the “Show Me State” in the lake region. From the lake you are only about three and a half hours from either Kansas City or St. Louis. Missouri is beautifully green most of the summer months and the winter has some wonderful snowy days, but they normally don’t last that long. Tons of great golf course, too are in that part of the state… Please consider Missouri for a Dream House… You won’t go wrong.
I agree with Tara Georgia would be a wonderful place for the hgtv home 2008. It’s my home, and I love it too. But alot of the clues sounds more like florida if they started singing margarita ville I would not be at all suprised.
But I do agree Georgia has alot to offer and would be a wonderful place for hgtv to build my dream home in 2008 . Then when I win I wouldn’t have far to move, and I’d stil be close to family & friends.
I THINK FOR 2009 THE DREAM HOUSE GIVE AWAY SHOULD BE BUILT IN NONE OTHER THAN GALVESTON, TEXAS.
St Louis Missouri!
We’ll even donate the lot if interested!
I think the next dream house should be built in the great Commonwealth of Kentucky. Land of beautiful horses and fast women!! And I want to win!!! I have lived in Oklahoma for 16 years. Although I love the people I miss the GREEN of Kentucky.
