Also, I talked to house planner Jack Thomasson today and construction on HGTV Dream Home 2008 is proceeding nicely down in the Florida Keys. And since newcomers are still asking, HGTV Dream Home Giveaway 2008 starts on Jan. 1, 2008. That’s when you’ll be able to enter for a chance to win the home in Islamorada, Fla.

And we’ll have more information soon about the HGTV “Green” Home Giveaway coming in 2008. Stay tuned!

  1. On September 27th I received a response from the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) regarding my complaint concerning the $100,000 give away. The Deputy Chief wrote verbatim the following: This letter responds to your complaint in which you allege that on March 18, 2007, Scripps Networks, LLC d/b/a/ Home & Garden Television (HGTV), Knoxville, Tennessee violated the Commission’s contest rules. Specifically, you allege that during a call-in type contest HGTV answered your call and hung up on you rather than give you an opportunity to play the game, as it was announced over the air and that you believe HGTV may have unfairly manipulated the call. While the Federal Communications Commission is authorized under Section 508 of the Communications Act of 1934, as amended and 47 C.F>R. & 73.1216, to investigate allegations of contest irregularities broadcast over the air and to take action where appropriate, such authority is strictly limited to broadcast media. Congress has granted no comparable authority to the Commission to regulate any contest transmitted by satellite or cable. In view of the forgoing, because we have no legal basis to take action against HGTV, we deny your complaint. OK so that means BBB cannot do anything, FCC cannot do anything, my next stop is the FTC. I am not going to give up (Please see my earlier messages in this blog) Is there anyone on my side. Can anyone confirm the telephone number that was used on the East Coast, or does anyone have the video shown on the East Coast? I do not mind losing, and I know this is a contest. But wake up and smell the coffee. I called into the show. Was connected, and then hung up on. Will there be ever be justice in this case, will HGTV take responsibility for an error? No, I am sure there will not – but my voice will be heard.

  2. Kebe….just let it go. Just turn to Proverbs and read. Be thankful there is a chance to win, and if you really don’t think there is, just keep all that negativity and anger to yourself so the rest of us can enjoy dreaming and enjoying other peoples good fortune. You are way to obcessed with such rage. What if the giveaway was no more? Whether is polictical, planned, or programmed doesn’t really matter. Do your part in the human race and be gracious,it is just what it says it is…dream home giveaway….let it go sweetie :) i pray you will be blessed with good thoughts, bad ones provoke evil…let it go

  3. Hello everyone,
I have been trying very hard to find the toll free phone number for the $100,000.00 contest (last year’s number), but could not find it. If you have it, can you please share with me?
    Thank you very much.

  4. Yes, I need to document the toll free number for last years $100,000 contest also. Please share it with me, if you have a copy of the telecast it would be appreciated. I know what the number was, but need documented proof. Oh, no contest for money this year? I wonder why, it is because…. OK I will not go there again, just read my earlier blogs. Also did you notice last year when they repeated the winning show, the number was IMMEDIATLEY blocked out, and this year, I do not think that winning spoof was ever played back.
