A.K.
I believe achieving balance between the unmistakably colorful energy of the Florida Keys and the laid back lifestyle that these islands are known for is the key to a successful decorating plan. Also, displaying the magnificent diversity of the local art should tell stories in this home.
I agree with Frank Parrilli post on 8/15/07. He took the words right out of my mouth. I have been searching for a way to contact HGTV to express my opinion regaring the decorator. You need to get another designer. Ms. Woodrum’s style is always centered aroung country in every home she has designed for HGTV. I also agree that Candice Olsen is the bomb when it comes to decorating and on the male side Kenneth Brown will be a great choice. Please consider changing designers for the next Dream Home.
The house is beautiful; done in the Southern charm of the Florida Keys. I live in Pinellas Park,Fl and have visit Keys three times and I have fell in Love with that area its a Dream that would come True for a Special person its breath taking and so tastful.
can any of the ethan allen furniture be exchanged or returned? some of it is good, but some of it is so god awful, and at the price, the money could be well spent on other items that were obviously over looked.
where did they find these people? not the best at architecture or decorating or landscaping – they tease you with the location and then kind of miss the boat (no pun intended) with everything else-
i would love to win it, but the remodel and design to make it functional for a family, plus the taxes, upkeep & insurance on it make it pretty much unavailable for the average family.
i have to agree with other comments- what were you thinking? just a new toy for the rich people?
I don’t even know where to start. The location and the views are amazing, but I would want to spend all of my time outside or in the dog house. The interior is such a disappointment from one room to the next. All of the rooms are extremely feminine with prints of plaids and checks that make it seem country instead of fresh and beachy. The over abundance of accessories just seems like Linda hit every yard sale. Did she ever step back and look at the big picture? By the way, what’s the idea with the candelabra by the kitchen sink?
I am dreaming to win the 2008 Green Home.
