I Dream of this house and what it would be like to every own one like it.
We retired to Wisconsin in 2001,
Settled on waterfront for boating fun,
Five kids,eleven grandkids come to visit and play
As long as it is August, July, June, or May.
But the winters here are snowy and cold,
Hubby shovels and plows– and it’s getting old.
He wants to leave this place for warmer weather,
Happiness, too, for sun-loving grandmother!
The great HGTV Dream Home for 2008,
Looks like a perfect place for us to migrate.
I’ve entered the contest, made an invitation list,

The house itself is beautiful, as well as liveable,

who wouldn’t want to win this home—i love all the b.s entry’s esp. the one lady who works so hard 5 days a week 24 hrs a day-you cant afford a small home of 100,000 or less and you want a home thats worth 2.2 million your a joke how would you afford that place,don’t say your not in it for the money you will sell it the next day.

My family has had a horrible year. For one I almost didn’t make it to 2008. I would love to win this for my family and I owe a car to my husband since I totalled his. Since I can’t work anymore it would be a great place to relax and have some fun with my family. I would love to compare anyones year to mine. Hands down I’d win.
If I win I’d give my house and it’s contents to someone needy after my hospital bills are taken care of. This will definately be proof dreams do come true.
I’ve lived in Decatur, Al most of my life. I was three years in San Diego, CA, but we all know that is the mnost beautiful place in the world. Therefore, lets look for something new and exceiting. Where Souther Charm is everywhere and the people treat you like you are their very best friends from day one.
Decatur is located on the beautiful Tennessess River and most people like for find a little cove to build a beaudiful home away from home. Our temp is good from the end of Feb to the First of Dec. and we play all the time. There is alot to see here and many ole time shopping to do on Street. The first Bank was buildt here and stand proud. evem wotj a few cannon ball holds in the outside pillows. My Mother and Dad met there when she was a USO girl and my Dad was stationed at Courtland Airforce Bace. Then when I got married ( the second time),I too was married in the same spot that they were married in. The City is very proud of its part in the war and the homes and archives are full of interesteing thing for you to wonder thru then your not busy on some of the most beautiful golf courts, country clubs, tennis cours, biciyles trials and the very first wave pool every built. Still going and full. We have many special yearly activities and all the area around come in for those special times.
I could tell you much more, but if you will just come to North Alabama, I will give you a personal tour myself.

The idea of building such extravagant homes for us Americans is truly remarkable. For some of us these are the homes of the rich and famous that we only see in magazines. It is definitely mindboggling to even think ordinary people stand a chance of owning such a nice piece of property. May God bless the person are people that came up with this idea.
What a fantastic dream! I would love to move from the cold mountains to a home in a warm climate. I’ll look forward to meeting my neighbors if I win too. I’ve never been to Florida. I wish everyone who entered, good luck, whether they live in it or try to sell it for the money. Remember the taxes. Ouch!

I have a family of 4 kids and a hard working wife because I have been hurt for 5 years she been doing her best to take care the family. I just wish I can make her happy by winning this home, this will be a blessing for us all while we wait on my disability to come in. thank you hgtv from giving me a chance.

I am 72 years old and after a wonderful life my second husband is getting a divorce and I will not receive any compensation from him. I am living with my son and am waiting for government subsudized housing. I have never had to ask anyone for a dime and I feel like my children should not have to support me. I AM A 24 YEAR OLD MOTHER OF 3 WHO GOT DIDN’T FINISH SCHOOL AND GOT MARRIED AT A YOUNG AGE. ME AND MY HUSBAND STRUGGLED TO GET A DECENT PAYING JOB AND STILL HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO GET A HOME. Me and my husband are newly wedd couple and at present we have this small cluttered house in texas that still in mortgage in which me husband helping each other to pay it monthly and help my in-laws. And now I’m having little fun with it making make over in each and every room which I’m working with little by little. Hello my name is Hop.. i was born in Vietnam(ASIA) we moved here(united state) when i was around 6 or 7 years old.. my parents work very hard to get us where we are now.. and around 2 years ago i gave birth to my little boy, my mother have to quit her job to take care of my baby for me.. so i could go back to school.. now that i’m in school.. my dad have to carry the house mortgage by himself, working in a warehouse.. i wish that HGTV could enter me in the DREAM HOME GIVE a way 2008, so my parents could have something to enjoy theirself in .. i’ve try to enter the DREAM HOME give away last year too.. I would love to have a house in florida.I’m married and we both would love to have a house near the beach. If I won the the Dream home give away 2008 I would cry of happyness. Unforchantly its to expensive to by a house near the beach and so I have hope that maybe I have a chance to win.
I’ve just recently lost both of my parents to cancer. We have always had to pay other people rent. I have also been classified as a disabled person. I have degenarative bones in my back that will get worse as the years go by. Also I am going blind to. I have a son that has epilepsy real bad too.I will have to take care of him for the rest of his life. After a while we will have to try to take care of each other. I also have a fifteen year old daughter that would love to be able to stay here in Florida where all her friends and family are. I still believe that there is such a thing as miracles in this world. Being able to live by the beach would also help with the arthriritis that I have in my joints to.I know that ther is a lot of people that are entering this contest too. life has not been easy the last few years for my mother and her children, me and my 7 year old brother christian,you see,his father died in a tragic car crash one year ago, two years soon..it makes me mom sad to have to see my brother not having a dad to see everyday like he used to. i think him and my momm getting away from the town he lived in would be a very healty thing. im not saying my family deserves a 2.2 milllion dollar home. but it would make us very happy.

I think this dream home is a fraud. The winners already know they won. Last night, the door was already opened for the camera people to walk in. Last year, was the same. THe winner was already celebrating with all his friends and family. What a coincidence! It would be more dramatic and fun if the winners don’t know yet. It is suppose to be a surprise live on TV, isn’t it. What a disappointment.
