  1. I have tried to enter every day for this home. I have an autistic child and a shiba inu dog who would love this home. We had to leave our Orlando home when we were struck three times in a row with a direct hurricane hit. The roof was damaged and we weren’t able to afford to fix it. We will never be able to have another home unless we were lucky enough to win one and to have one in the keys and such a beautiful one would be a blessing and a I have been praying every day that we will be so blessed. Thank you for this contest to give us hope for the future and having a home once again.

  3. If you do not dream big then what is the point in dreaming. The house is a dream and I have enter and it would be a nice birhtday present to myself if I were to be the winner. I told my grandmother-in-law to pack her bagges because she would be moving in if I should win. So do not say that anyone would not be able to keep the home, I sure will, along with my husband and dogs!!!!

  8. The home is absolutly beautiful, and for all those who really said ugly things about the home, Shame on you, deep in your heart, I think 99.9% of you would cut off your left arm just to live in it, let alone own it. Gifts like this come from GOD and may the person who truely wins it may he or she have earned it completely and a “WELL DONE, YOU GOOD AND FAITHFUL SERVANT” Thank-you HGTV for building the most beautiful homes and blessing the ones who win.

  13. Hi HGTV: I was looking for my blog, entered a few days before the end of entering period, 2/19. I don’t see it and surely hope I am entered. This IS the most beautiful home I have ever seen and I would love to live in the Keys. The ocean air is so good for sinuses and our SOUL. As one of the fella’s wrote, he and his family were MOVED from Mobile & beautiful ocean & beaches. Maybe same time. My mom (deceased now), grandfather and I were in same boat, 1966. I was 16 then, cried all the way to GA, and had to leave my 1st love, to boot (never got over that), as Brookley AFB closed and people were scattered everywhere. I miss the beaches at Gulf Shores and Dauphin Island and wish I never had to leave, and wish was back there or, on or close to a beach, and COULD IMAGINE IN MY DREAMS the beautiful home you built in FL. Any good place to build the next would be around Gulf Shores, or anywhere that has a beautiful beach, crystal blue water and friendly people. And Mobile did, back then, had it all. Biloxi would be nice, too, or anywhere in FL on the beach. I never wanted to come to GA, (I, then, didn’t have a ‘say’),always worked hard here and took care of my mom the last 10 years of her life, when she developed Alzheimers, cancer. Now I’m having kidney failure, etc. from complications when a “quack” botched me up in surgery I shouldn’t of had, now in chronic pain. I pray each day to get by and nothing should make ANYONE any happier than to live on that beautiful beach, in that beautiful home in FL. One of the best Drs. here suggested I go to Cleveland Clinic and it’s close to Miami, for medical help I need. I’m by myself, with NO family to help. This would be a dream come true not only for me, as others in various dilemas. I’ve read of so many others, also in need, having hard time, also, & will say prayers for you all, too. The contractors did more than excellent jobs. If I were so lucky to win this, maybe some nice, deserving person, like myself could move in with me, sharing expenses. A DREAM COME TRUE. I believe in dreams and miracles. Thank you for the opportunity to enter and may God Bless.

  18. I only entered one time for this home because of the safety issues. If I win this home, I will rearrange it myself! Believe me, my kids will not be on the bottom floor.

  23. I lived in Key West 20 years ago and would love the chance to share the magic of the Keys with my two young sons,(ages 11 and 6): swimming with the dolphins at Grassy Key; snorkling and looking down 30 feet to the crystal clear ocean floor below you; flat fishing and watching tarpon and lemon sharks pass by in two feet of water; walking the beach at Bahia Honda; the smell of Jasime on a warm night; sunsets at Mallory Square. My favorite photograph from the Islamorada house is from the balcony of the master suite: the sky on fire at sunset. Ahhhh…..to dream…….

  25. This would be a nice dream to come true, I have family down in Florida and would love to have a place to visit and maybe retire one day too. The house is beautiful, I would love to win this or any other house you build. Giving away a home and car worth millions must give all who are involved a great feeling of peace, kindness and love. Of course I hope I win but if I do not I know the person(s) who do with be for ever gratefull. Thank you for your generosity.

  36. Wow… that was the most unexcited winner I’ve ever seen. What a shame, my parents entered and they are in love with the Florida keys…

Amy on March 16, 2008 at 10:17 pm
  37. Agreed. Seriously – what on earth could have been the problem? I was more mad at her not being at all excited (even seemingly annoyed) than not winning myself! How anti climatic for the network. Could they pick a new winner based on the reaction?! The news bearing lady was sooo excited – I would have been jumping up and down and screaming like an idiot with her. What a bummer of a reaction – really. Maybe the winner lady will explain what was up so we excited viewers can perhaps understand…

  38. I would be truly humbled to win a trailor at this point in my life. I’m disabled, awaiting SSI, having to live cramped up with my mother who is a doll; but, for me and my two daughters it gets real hard at times. She lives on a fixed income with SSS. Till now I’ve always supported my children well, without a dad who chose not to be a part of their lives. I watch all the craft shows, I’d love to just have the tools, and the knowledge I learn every day. I then could make a living.I don’t mean to sound greedy, just a break!Yours truly, Donna Layfield
