Clue #6: We’ve Got a Monopoly on Clues

Here’s today’s clue to the location of the next HGTV Dream Home. I’ve just added a new image to the slide show of the children’s bedroom in the HGTV Dream Home in Islamorada. Flip through the images and look for the Monopoly game set up on one of the beds. And you know when playing Monopoly, it’s all about making money and going for the big green.

Remember to watch the HGTV Dream Home Giveaway 2008 special on Sunday, March 16, at 9pm ET/6pm PT when we announce the winner of the gorgeous home in the Florida Keys on live television! Remember, we’ll also be giving away a trip for two to Islamorada to a lucky home viewer during the special. Check the official rules page for the home viewer prize for more information.

Check back Tuesday for another clue, and have a great weekend everyone!

  11. To Katydid
I’m not from Louisiana never even been there! I’m from Ky, but the devastation on television internet news, etc. just touched my heart so that I will never forget thinking: what if that were me?… and what has this disaster done to louisianna, it’s people’s homes and land. We hear about the crime rate that sky rocketed, probably stemmed from the fear of loosing everything they had and the desire of wanting more and no way to get it. The devestation still right there before them as a reminder. People who could not and now would not go back home. Because they can not afford to rebuild or clean up or just won’t go back for fear it’ll happen again. Alot of the homes destroyed were from lower income families. The clues I have been reading and putting together in my head just sounds like Louisiana to me and I can’t help but think. How wonderful a difference that hgtv could make for Louisiana(LA). They rebuild, redecorate, they have knowledge/ resources to do something about the situation. I have words to speak. Hgtv, scripps, abc, other power house money makers networks, has star power and money & US VEIWERS or helpers to really make a difference in devestated areas like, Louisiana( hurricane destroyed areas as well as the other states hit by them (LA, Mississippi, Alabama, Fl, etc.)-California (fire & mud slide damage) Tn (tornado damaged areas) The list goes on & on. Areas that need help like Appalachians areas of Eastern ky & Tn. We all know poor towns/ people, in and around us, run down towns, no work, homes run down and people out of work, no money to repair their home, people who’s roofs, doors, & windows leak and they have no running water for a shower or a toilet to flush or even a stove to cook with. But they may have willingness to help repair or work with you to repair their home & towns. How nice would it be to see towns revive, peoples hearts and souls lifted and everyone really working together to make a difference where it really counts. (home)
I see people like Bradd Pitt & etc. this foundation gets alot of attention and I realize they are mostly helping LA & I thought that LA & other states that really need HELP. That a dream boost in location and rebuilding efforts could benefit more from the possibility of the dream home than any other state at this time. Ok this letter started out as a short answer for Katydid but for some reason I think this letter was meant for everybody out there..

  21. I’m thinking more toward Kansas City, Missouri. The 31st state and City of Lights (Kansas), the yellow rooms gives you a California location similar to Portis, Kansas which is at the intersection of the Missouri Pacific Railroad. Monopoly clue mentions the green which includes the Pacific property. Therefore, I’m thinking we’re heading to Missouri. I’m debating on whether or not to even post this but it can’t be much worse than some of the others right?

  22. Hello I’m new to this blog. I was listening and checking the clues and I think that the place for the 2009 Dream Home could possibly be on Cannery Row on Monteray Bay in Seaside California based on all the clues given. I could be wrong but I strongly think so,anyway will see.
