Coming Soon: Floor Plans!
Hello! We just received the floor plans for HGTV Dream Home 2009, located in beautiful Sonoma, Calif. I hope to have them ready to put online soon, maybe as early as this week. In the meantime, I’ve noticed several comments from Sonoma locals, extolling the fabulous natural beauty and cultural highlights of the area. If you’ve got some photos or videos you’d like to share, go ahead and add them to the photo gallery. I know, it says “Your Trip to the Keys,” but I don’t have a gallery for Sonoma yet.
In other “HGTV gives away a house!” news, this Sunday we’re announcing the winner of the first HGTV Green Home. Watch Sunday at 8/7c to find out who’s moving to South Carolina. Plus, we’ll also be announcing the winners of the “Get More Green Sweepstakes.” The prizes are a $15,000 shopping spree at Sears and a $10,000 Kohler gift card.
After the Green Home special, stick around for the season premiere of HGTV Design Star Sunday at 9/8c. And starting this Friday, you can enter the Design Star Sweepstakes for a chance to win a $5,000 shopping spree from Sears AND a $5,000 gift card from Lumber Liquidators. That’s a lot of flooring, folks.
Check back soon for more about HGTV Dream Home 2009.

Can’t wait to see the floor plans and the neighborhood where the house will be built. I’m sure the house will be beautiful as were the other DREAM HOMES. Looking forward to entering in 2009. I think my favorite Dream Home so far was the Tyler Texas one.

Dear fcole: I really look forward to the season premiere of HGTV Design Star! My best wishes to all 9 expert designers!! I really enjoyed watching the first “Design Star” episode & especially love David Bromstad (“from struggling artist to the first winner of HGTV Design Star to the host of his own show, David’s journey is a story of talent, passion and the inspired use of color in design”)!! He has a unique way of transforming spaces into vibrant pieces of art!! Love him & love his show, “Color Splash”!! fcole, you just made my day. Floor plans soon, maybe this week….PLEASE! You also said “first Green Home winner”, that implies there will be more Green Homes in the future. Oh, happy day! Are you and kwalters ever in kahoots? Sorry, you may not know what that means, but I bet Coop does. Coop, so glad to see you are back, posting your usual fun. Tonight I will be dreaming of floor plans and thinking of all you lucky people living close to Sonoma. Tune in Sunday at eight.
Thanks HGTV.
I can hardly stand the waiting. I’m very excited about this dream home. I’m hoping to attend the Denver parade of homes in July to hold off the withdrawal symptoms between now and the big reveal in January. Denver really knows how to do dream homes! But please hurry, save me the anxiety. I need me some dream home
Dear fcole: Well, it is 5:00 a.m. on Thursday morning, June 5th, & I’m on my way to Sonora, California (not to be confused with Sonoma)! I guess it would be a well-rounded road trip if I could swing by Sonoma on the way home & say “hi” to the crew working on the DH2009 home!! Yeah, like that is going to happen with today’s gasoline prices!! Anyway, I guess you won’t hear from me for awhile..about 10 days! I guess I will miss the unveiling of the house plans, but will catch up on the scuttlebutt when I get back. Bon voyage! Marie Miller
Wow..Great..I cant wait to see this new home in California

I don’t think I dare post any of my photos, they are so dorky! My favorite is of my son at about age 11, right after he ate a “tuna” off the prickly pear cactus… Poor baby didn’t know he needed to roast it to remove the spines… He is near 30 now, but that still was one of my favorite trips to Sonoma…
hi, fC all of you who do so much to put all these beautiful dream homes together and all the product donaters. All the products and contracters are top noch. I enjoy reading the blogs, though mostly I just read because I am just learning about blogging being 64. I do keep up with the progress and submit entries hoping to win with everyone else. I was reading some of the blogs from diy your sister show and I saw where many were older, and even younger who will be getting older as we all will, duh! were asking about access for the physically challenged, that said, I would like to see a one story style house this time or at least in the future for these folks. Thanks for this oppertunity once again to enter for a once in a lifetime dream come true for 1 luck viewer.
good luck to all Marilyn
Wow…what a dream come true to win a house in Sonoma. It just sounds so relaxing and stress free. And boy..i would love to be in that environment for a change. There is a lot of stress within our little family right now, since we might loose our house in a couple of months…its happening to a lot of people and now its happening to us.I really cant believe these things would ever happen to us,but it is.So,when I was online and I saw some videos of previous winners of HGTV DREAM HOMES it brought tears to my eyes and I said GOSH I wish it would be us winning that house. So, here I am this Sunday morning on fathers day hoping to win the next dream home.I am doing this for my wonderful husband. He is the man of my dreams. He grew up in Walnut Creek and absolutely loved it here in California as a kid.California is the place he wants his girls to grow up, this is where he knows how to be the dad he always hoped to be.It really doesn’t matter to me where we are as long as we are together, healthy and happy with each other. My little girls Brianna and Daniella are what came of our love we have for each other and I want the best for them. Having a daddy like the one they have is the best I can ever offer and he deserves the best.I want him to be happy again, not having to worry about a roof over our heads. He would just die if I would actually win this house.Could you imagine!!!I COULD!!! and I want to give him his dream. He is a remarkable man and I would love to be able to win the next HGTV Dream Home in Sonoma California for my hubby!!!
I would like to know about when we will be able to enter for the DH09 sweepstakes. my family and I are in a desperate way and would really like to win any the houses that you are or will be building soon. thanks a million.
I have an idea i want to take a survey! Okay as a sweepstakes for one of the dream homes or green homes there can be an entry of designs for it and whoever has the best design wins a prize and their name by the design or in the description of the design. Anyway if u think this is a good idea please comment yes and if not comment if you have any other ideas. Thank you!
PLEASE PLEASE COMMENT!!!!!!!!!!!
When do we get to enter for this Dream House? What a beautiful place to move to, being a Native California I would love to live here forever, share it with family and friends….beautiful location
I am dreaming with this house…!!! This is a wonderfullllll…..team. Thank you to made our life more easy…
Hello from Oklahoma
The floor plan is ideal, and just being anywhere in California would be awesome. When can we enter the sweepstakes. I can’t hardly wait.
I would love to win the 2009 home, I have make a mission on all the last ones to on avial–maybe I will be lucky with this one..
Where/how can I enter the sweepstakes for dreamhome 2009?
Dear HGTVand Jack,
The floor plans for DH09 look fabulous! I can’t wait to see how the rooms will be decorated! Thanks for keeping us dreaming!
I can’t wait to see more, it is perfect
I love the wonderful artists rendition of the prize home and it makes me homesick for my native Tennessee. Looking at the floor plans, I would have liked to see a bathroom on the first floor but everything else looks so lovely. I picture lots of wood and stone and beautiful frothy window treatments, wicker, fireplaces, and rich warm, inviting colors.
I really belong in a house like this…..if it were mine, I’d settle for an outhouse on the first floor!!!…..Barb
There is a house here in Palmdale that looks just like the new dream home. Does the dream home 2009 have a bathroom on the first floor? The floor plans only show bathrooms on the second floor. Two bathrooms are needed downstairs with that square footage. I wish you would have a dream house in Carmel or Monterey. Sonoma is beautiful however.
I would love the new dream house, but with a bathroom on the first floor. I could always just put one in if I won the house. I hope I do. Win of course.
Why can’t you build a 6 bedroom house?!?!?! There are 5 kids in my family and it would be AWESOME if there was a 6 bedroom house… if only we could win it, and in California… I could finally be some where close to work on my acting career…. if only…
