The Online Tour and More …

Good afternoon, bloggers!
What do you think of the new and improved HGTV.com? Isn’t it cool? So many of you have asked about the start date of the 360-degree tour, and I am happy to tell you that you can enjoy virtual tours of the rooms starting TODAY! Be prepared to be blown away, if you haven’t already clicked around.
Back to questions from last week:
- Congratulations, Linda! I took the pretty picture from a window in the master bathroom. I sense many long soaks in the winner’s future.
- Many people have asked about the size of the master bed. It is queen this year. I will ask Linda why we don’t see king beds in the HGTV Dream Homes. I think this year’s bed is so fabulous, I plan to copy it someday when I have a big master bedroom.
- Lillian, the winner of the HGTV Dream Home will receive the framed limited-edition Michael Schwab print that is currently on display in the stairwell. It is not currently signed. MRDBCoop, the poster will not be available for purchase, but I think that’s a great suggestion.
It won’t be long now until the January 1st special. I can’t wait!
Your Super Fan,
Gail

Can anyone tell me what fabric is used for the dream home foyer? And where can I purchase them?
noticed all the rooms ceilings and walls were painted the same color and also the absense of crown molding . Was that done to not interrupt the eye .I do like it . Just wondering
I’ve been a fan of HGTV’s Dream Homes for sometime now…however, in today’s economy it seems it would be nice to offer several smaller retreats to multiple winners that the average American might be able to afford to maintain and enjoy rather than an estate like this year’s Dream Home. Beautiful–absolutely, but could I afford to leave my current home and move to wine country CA with its high cost of living…maybe not!!! We all have dreams, but wouldn’t it be nice if those dreams could come true and we could actually live them?!? Not to worry, I’ll still give it my best shot…entering every day to have my chance at the Dream Home…thanx for the opportunity to dream about winning!
This house was built just for us. I can picture myself soaking in the bath while the boys played in their room and the husband working in the study. It’s always fun to dream!
I have to agree w/ Patty Davis. These days a 3700 sq ft home w/ no more than 3 bedrooms is a true luxury…who will clean all FOUR toilets?!?
No square footage dimensions per room have been provided. As a professional stager, & home-owner gleaning ideas, I’d like to know those particulars.
I too missed a lot on the first TV viewing of the house…too much time spent on hype about “what’s up next” both before/after commercial breaks (a complaint of mine about HGTV since Day One!) But I did record the “episode” & referred back to it as I viewed the on-line videos…it helped A LOT!
And NO ONE has ever said what the lot size is! Obviously a corner lot, therefore much
“presentational” landscaping required front & side. An elegant dog house is included in the back yard, but how much actual lawn for dogs to frolic? Room for a pool?
To give Kim Myles her due, I think she did a “bang-up” boys’ room, but as one of you mentioned, where’s the girl(s)’ room?
Surely not the yellow/red guest room, of which the designer, Linda, herself said, “[it's] a place not used much, & I think it’s a lot easier to use the madness of color & pattern together…” In a room no one wants to stay in very long? She got that right! Especially w/ all the generic baby photos!!!(A stager’s nightmare!)
Like many of you, I’d want the family room flat screen TV centrally located (above the fireplace). But I do understand the HGTV dilema…presentation from the front door. If it had been me, I would have replaced the 2nd couch (facing away from the TV) w/ two cushy leather swivel club chairs to “swing” back & forth as desired.
I still want to know the lot size!
Since I found out about the 2009 HGTV Dream Home while I was surfing the cable channels I’ve gone through the 360 degree tours and pictures at least once a day. I love the house so much. It is so beautiful. My favorite parts of the house are the studio, the master bedroom, and the patio. But everything about the house is great. Can’t wait to see the 360 degree tours of the 2009 HGTV Green Home. Thanks HGTV for the great home and garden tips and ideas so that we all can have our own dream homes.
Does anyone know where I can purchase the breakfast room chandelier?
I am wanting to purchase the fabric or the pillow that is on the guest bed. It is a green and orange floral print.
I wanted to enter he HGTV contest this year but I hac problems locating the entry page.
