The View, Bathrooms and More …

Good morning, bloggers!
Hopefully you have figured out how to post comments (it took me a while to figure out how everything works, too). Just hang in there; you’ll get used to the new system and be a pro in no time.
I absolutely love the sneak-peek video with Monica, only I wish the tour lasted 90 minutes instead of 90 seconds. I know Tracy in Arizona was concerned about the front-yard view. The cluster of beautiful oak trees (there is one branch that is just begging for a swing) is the real eye candy when you look out onto the property from the front porch. I am sure you will get a better view of it when HGTV airs the HGTV Dream Home 2009 Special on January 1st. Don’t worry, MicheleC — during the show you will also get a glimpse of the first-floor bathroom, which is right outside the study and painted in the same amazing brandy shade.
I hope everyone enjoys a wonderful holiday.
Your Super Fan,
Gail

I’m so impressed by the simplicity and usefullness of every space….I have family in Sonoma County and driving around the area has always made me want to move there….What a wonderful home that would be for a family gathering!! I find it so sad that most families choose to sell what they win….why, I think that is providence…or kismet…if you’re lucky enough to win it…it should be something you want very badly and enjoy….In my fantasies this is my dream house….to retire in and just LIVE!!
…and the grandsons would love love that room. The kitchen is a chefs dream and the outside area lends itself to wonderful evenings of playing games, drinking wine with a fire glowing. The garden looks natural as it should be for not just the home but for the area…it all just works. The choice of wall colors was daring but bold…and it all work so well together. Let’s not be afraid of color…it’s like the the outside colors of nature flowing inside. Good job to everyone. I’ll cross my fingers.
How many baths in this beauty? Any baths or powder rooms on the first floor?
Hi Gail
I think that in general the Dream Houe fits my idea of a dream.
I had an interor design firm for 15 years and worked with many architects and builders – I looked at the floor plan of the home and took the tour and unless I missed it I find a serious flaw.
I saw no half bath or bathroom on the first floor. Where are the resident and the guest supposed to go to the bathroom- I also noticed there is no hall bathroom upstairs-althought guest should not have to go upstairs.
I think that the residents will notice this the moment they move in. Have I made an error
or is this a major flaw in the house? If so I hope this can be rectified be converting a closet or any other space. I think that a WC is much more important then a wine closet.
Please respond and tell me I am wrong – I want the house to be perfect when I win and move in !!!
I await your response.

I love the idea of a laundry room on the 2nd floor but in which cabinet is the washer and dryer????
Does anyone know how many square feet the house is?
Carolebeth there is a Powder Room on the 1st Floor right before the door to the Study.
Joyce the house is 3,600 sq. ft.
Linda it looks like the Washer & Dryer are side by side under the counter to the right of the sink.
Are there tours of the house? We come to Sonoma often and would love to see the house.
Can you tell me the dimensions of the master bathroom? Also the dimensions of the shower? There aren’t any good pictures with a view of the shower and you can’t really see it on the video. I LOVE this bathroom. Wow!
Could you tell me where I could find the Red & Cream checked rug that is in the Guest Room? I love it.(Maybe it’s from Ethan Allen, also?)
WOW! My husband and I drove over today and personally looked at the outside of the DREAM HOME. It is everything and more! The town is charming the people very friendly, what a wonderful place it would be to call home. Good luck to us all that have entered to win this beautiful home!
I am indeed dreaming.
How big is the lot? Is it fully fenced?
The house is perfect, colors and all. Can’t wait to see who wins this amazing house.
My husband and I got engaged in Sonoma, and before being tranferred out of state, visited at least once a month. (We lived about an hour away at the time) Sonoma is such a beautiful place, and we cannot wait to win and have the ability to be back in beautiful California! Good luck to everyone!
This house is so great… I can't get enough of it. I love to get on this website and look at everything over and over again.
Every time I look at it I find something new the I didn't see before. Everything about this home is great and is definitely a dream home.
Forgive me if you have already addressed this question……… I have gone through this house so many times, and the photos, only to just realize there is a bathroom off the Home Office. Why has this never been shown on tour or on the interactive house map? Looks great by the way! I can't wait to win, been out of work for 18 months, and waiting for a miracle! ;0) PrincessG from Missouri
