Plus, the HGTV Dream Home Giveaway 2009 special is just weeks away. And who knows when we might reveal the 2010 location? It could be sooner than you think.

I would ask the winner if they would be willing to participate in a blog sharing how they like the home and how they are using the home (i.e., vacation home, permanent residence, or if they will be selling it). I would love to share this information if my husband or I won the Dream Home. I would also use the blog to encourage others to go GREEN in their home. Good Luck All!
I'm trying to enter at 3:20 PM as the countdown still has 1 hour and 40 minutes,
yet it states the sweepstakes is over.
Why can't I still enter one last time?
What video of the winner? Has the winner already been selected??
My husband has MS and has had to give up fishing, hunting, skiing, dirt bikes, etc., so it would be a great blessing for us to win the Dream Home. He used to live in California when he was younger and would love seeing the beautiful scenery every day, be able to enjoy the weather year round and get somthing back to replace what he has lost. We keep trying to win and hoping that it will be our turn next.
I can’t wait to see who wins! GOOD LUCK EVERYONE!
Where is the downstairs powder room? I looked at the lay out and I have seemed to have missed it. If there is none the family will have to run upstairs every time they would have to use the rest room.
It’s not over until the SIS party happens! Everything else is gravy.
So, why does the countdown say there is 2 hours to go to sign up? Not to mention there was just an advertisement on the current show saying there is still time to enter to win, but when I click to enter, it says it is closed?
wouldnt it be just, so cool to win a house in sunny Sonoma i mean most people had spent their lives working hard jobs and getting no where in life and other people have a housefull of kids and ofcourse every child deserves the best and also to those people who has lost a loved one and are just barely getting to move on. well this house is a perfect place to start fresh and make life the best of it, big house with a big lawn in the perfect neighborhood and with a family to share it with, isnt that what everyone here would love to have would DREAM to have? I know i do, i would absolutely love this house for my family, and like the rest of you bloggers, i can so picture us living here, chances of winnig is 1 to 31 million but if you have enough faith to keep your dream alive then the next thing you know youll be handed the keys to this house and car, i guarantee that you will enjoy life as you dreamed you would.
Good Luck

Good luck to all that entered, I’am hoping that a deserving person wins this year. And that the home will be a true blessing to them, in times like the U.S.A is in a place that can be used for joy and Family or helping other will be a true testamony to HGTV and what the U.S.A stand for.
When are they actually picking the winner?
Good Luck to everyone who entered, this is so exciting…Sonoma is BEAUTIFUL…whoever wins is incredibly lucky!!
I just realized that the HGTV DreamHome gets
bigger and better every year. Last year I thought how can it get any better than a beautiful home in the FL. Keys. And, now I am woundering how can a house get any better than the magnificent beauty HGTV built in Sonoma, CA. wine country. Good luck to one and all.
It’s 3:15 PST and I can’t enter anymore. Oh well I tried, however I honestly wish everyone Good Luck!!!
Good Luck to all! I’m still wondering how they are going to ambush the winner. At home? At work? Oh I’m so nervous, and yet so ready! Bring on the ambush!
I just visited the count down site, it said still 1 hour 34 minutes left, but when I entered, it was closed, how come!
Good luck to everyone… this house and car is somthing everyone dreams of. Expecialy in the economic crisis that we are all in.. my father has dialisis and we cant afford the payments on the house that we are in currently. it would be a blessing form GOD!
Good luck to everyone God Bless.
Good Luck Everyone!
Good Luck everyone!!
It’s over and now the real fun begins! One lucky and blessed family deserves to win this beautiful home. Good luck to all of you and even if you don’t win, never let your DREAMS fade.

***shakes angry fist at PST*** i get it.. i’m west coast.. HeadQuarters is east coast…. dang.
Happy Thursday, Bloggers and other California Dreamers. Wow, Is this a bitter-sweet day or not? Bitter because we have cast the last vote for the 09DH but sweet because we know that someone (me?) will be winning a great house. Yes, Lessie, the SISBP WILL happen and everything else is gravy! I feel that it’s not the end of our dreams, just the beginning of our reality. I’m so excited for all of us.
I’d like to quote from someone contemporary today: Oprah Winfrey who says, “The key to realizing a dream is to focus not on success but significance – and then even the small steps and little victories along your path will take on greater meaning.” Let’s realize our dreams – good luck and may God continue to bless us all.
God bless the winner not only with a new house but may it be a home, filled with laughter, great memories, tear producing laughter and good conversation.
Good luck and God bless us all.
God bless us all and good luck to us all too. The one meant to be there will be the winner. I wish you all the best.
I have fingers crossed and boxes ready to pack. Looking at that house was like invisioning myself actually there!
Feels like home!
Good luck everyone! And thanks to HGTV for the lives they are changing.
I had so much fun with this sweeps, I normally never get serious about a sweep. There was something special about taking the time each day during entering that I would stop, forget about everything going on and just “dream”. Thank you for that special time. Good Luck All
Good evening everyone. Yes I entered this morning, made sure to put up a post it note on mirror to remind me.
Just finished a gyro meal for good luck. Thank you for all of the wonderful poems and sayings today. Esla, you have many talents.
We have to keep this blog going. The idea of the cookbook and sayings is wonderful. Maybe we can order it. would be a great momento. Now you have me wondering about the secret van at the dream home. hummm. Marie Miller great to have you back. Coop have a wonderful time in Thailand.
To all of you, thank you for making this such a happy place. Wishing you the simple pleasures that fill our hearts with joy, Good friends, loving families, and the peace of knowing that God loves us and looks out for all of our needs. To all of the many friends in this blog have a wonderful evening and the best of luck and possiblities.

I went to make my last entry and it was already shut down. Looked in the rules and it never gave a time. Whats up?
Good luck everyone!!!!!!!!!!
I have entered the Dream Home contest everyday since its inception and looking forward to see who wins. Hopefully, its us! We are done renting (and severely over-paying in Southern California) and would love to be able to spread out in the beautiful home.
Good luck to all!
I’m glad the entering is over now, as also any tiny shred of control we have is over too. It’s now in God’s hands.
The friend I was going to watch the special with on the 15th doesn’t have HGTV anymore, and my plans for watching it are shot. I might be searching the streets on March 15th, looking for a place to watch this GRAND FINALE. Maybe I can go to the coffee shop down the street. OH my, IF I did win, HGTV is going to have a hard time finding me now.
Hey, I’m having a monkey b-day party for my 3 and 5 year old on the 14th in our backyard. Maybe they can find me a day early?? You here that HGTV??? Anyone who comes to ambush me is welcome to Chinese food, banana splits, monkey cupcakes, and a few jumps in the bouncer. He, he. Doesn’t sound very tempting to adult ears.
Seriously though, I wonder how they work it all out, the ambushing…. Very curious!!
Why must the winner be “ambushed?” That is SO phony and artificial. If the contest is legitimate, the winner will just be notified by mail, phone or e-mail. I don’t believe for a minute that the prior entrants received their first notice by some contrived ambush.
Since most of the previous winners haven’t actually kept the homes simply because they can’t afford the taxes, I’m wondering what happens now with this saturated housing market? What if someone wins and can’t afford the place and (I doubt it will happen) then can’t sell it? Do you say thanks but no thanks? Do you sell it at rock bottom price and be grateful for whatever you get for it? Curious.
There’s no keeping me away from a daily visit to this fabulous HGTV site – I’m hooked now! You will have to tear me away!
I work from home, so my ambush may be slightly aticlimactic….but I’m happy to be notified any day, anyway, anyhow!!!
Dreaming Big in PA,
Janet R
ahh..that would be “anticlimactic”….sorry!
well congrates, to whom ever wins, I hope their heart, is as happy as mine would be if it were me
Debbie
Ok there is a house next door to me that has been for rent for some months now. Today I saw three vans pull up to my house the vans were all the same color and shape-how odd. Point is for a split second I thought it was HGTV ambush team-or the prize patrol…crazy! My family and I have made a cute game of it everytime someone knocks on the door…ITS THE AMBUSH TEAM!!!It is always good for a few giggles.

All I can say is: maybe the Giveaway is over, but THANK YOU EVERYONE AT HGTV – AND ALL THE WONDERFUL SPONSORS; for having it in the first place!
well, i am a west coaster and forgot to enter today too!
hahaha- can’t believe i didnt enter on the last day- hope its not a weird omen:(
good luck everyone! and i really hope to make it to the blogger party!
I love the dream home except for one thing. The master suite enters from the living room. I think that’s poor design.
I’m actually looking forward to getting our first clues to next year’s DH. It was so much fun trying to guess this year’s location. The closest I got was the Russian River so I at least got the county right. So bring it on HGTV! It might keep us from biting our nails for the next 3+ weeks…
Barin, I think it says that it ends 5pm “ET”, which means “Eastern Standard Time”. I feel your pain! I wasn’t able to vote the last vote today because I live in Pacific Standard Time. (PT.) Aside from that, I am soooo excited! Boy, I’m gonna have to make sure my house is spotless before March 15th… ya know… just in case! ^_^ May the winner be greatly blessed!
Okay, it’s over but if you have not seen this, you have to check it out.
Has anyone seen the video library on HGTV of past winners? Here is the link:
http://www.hgtv.com/dream-home/dream-home-videos/index.html
I can not believe that last years winner was sooo calm. I swear I would have been jumping up and down and screaming for joy. I would be hugging everyone in sight!!! Jack, Linda and Monica, TV Crew, by-standers, whatever and whoever! Crazy! Just watching all of the other winners made me tear up.
Oh well, I guess some people react to 2 MILLION buckaroos in their own special way!

For the last month i have grabbed somebody elses lunch out of our office fridge, headed back to my office & shut the door, and went right to HGTV.Com. i looked forward to my lunch hour so i could stay on top of all the blogs (and look at the Dream Home pictures over & over). I am really going to miss everyone (whoever you may be). As i said before, you ladies/bloggers all have hearts of gold. Whoever wins, please give that Hot Teddy Bear Bruce Lee a hug for me
God Bless
Kay- Who is the Hot Teddy Bear Bruce Lee? Jack? Just want to be sure so I hug the right guy!!!

Im so sad is over, I live in New York and life here is so hectic. I have a daycare which I run from my home. my days are long and tiresome, at the end of the day I would log on and dream. no more dreaming back to reality. Thank you GHTV for allowing me to at least dream. I had a great time
My “Dream” man, Bruce Lee, is the man (and his crew) who built the home. Jack is the “tall drink of water” that lead the HGTV team planning/building the Dream Homes for the last 13 years.
Linda, is the lucky lady who got to be by their side.
I saw the winner in the video. was she high or what. she didn’t seem like she cared about winning. i would be jumping up and down on my husbands back. lol
I think it is wonderful to enrich someone’s life with this beautiful home, BUT, being a pessamist (sp), I can’t help but think of how is this person going to pay the taxes on a 2 million dollar prize? And what about the property taxes?
With the economy the way it is, souldn’t it be beneficial to build 4 (or more) houses worth a smaller value?
