Who Will Win?

Good afternoon, bloggers!
Whew — it seems like you all just finished a marathon and now you have to wait to see who won. I am so excited, I can hardly stand it. Will the winner be someone from our blogger “family” who enters every day (and sends in postcards)? Or, do you think it will be the lucky person who happened to enter once? I want to know, I want to know!
Now that you’re free from entering daily, I hope you will spend your time taking the virtual tours and coming up with more questions. I’m ready to answer them.
And just to answer some recent questions:
•The ottoman in the study is a Lewis ottoman by Ethan Allen in a houndstooth fabric. It sits below the clock pictures.
•Also, there is a big storage area in the study and lots of closets and cabinets throughout the house and in the garage.
•Finally, there is no basement in this home. Most of the homes in California do not have basements.

Well I don’t have a dog and although I would love to rescue one, I think my cat would kill me so I like the idea of raffling off the doggie dream home to help put a small dent in those taxes. As far as changes? I think it’s perfect. It would be nice for a future home to have a pool, and or a horse stable for us animal lover type “Dreamers”. I am an LA girl living in a country girls body. Take us back to a simply quiet country life next year HGTV. Unless of course I win this year then I’m good

Ahhhh. I keep dreaming of winning. It’s my B-Day that day. What a great birthday present!
Thanks Janet D & Marie Miller for your comfort on my Mother’s recovery – multiple stroke is not as serious a single stroke – the way the doctor described is like mini earthquakes as oppose to one large one. She has suffered a few seizures though which is common with multiple strokes (mini aftershocks). The worst thing though is the depression from the medication that she was prescribed – she cries every day. I’ve always been a positive person in her life and I’m the only one that can make her laugh because I do know that laughter is the best medicine.
Finally, A day off to come leave a comment. I realized that it doesn’t state wether or not the winner will have to be posting everyday or just a one time thing. I have faith in this comment. In my opinion this is one of the most wonderful thing, someone could be handed one of there dreams. There is a dream home in all of our hands, but only one winner. May I ask, when the winner will be chosen? Thank you,

hi ca lover, thanks thats next on the agenda. He attended UCHayward just before his heart trans plant. The girl he had, was a very bright inteligent girl. She had more enthusiasm than some of the pro therapist. and very creative ideas to personalize his therapy. I wiil definately try back there again he loved the fact that they are his age too.
They don’t award the winner with $250,000 anymore. Why did they stop doing that? Did that help with the payment of the taxes in the past? What’s the longest it took one of your winners to sell the home?

Everyone speaks about how they would change the house…well I wouldn’t change anything. It’s a perfect home and I would enjoy living in it. I don’t have a dog but I’m sure I can find a good home for the cute dog house. Stay excited and wait for the balloons to show up at your door!
Whoever wins this dream home will be very fortunate. My only question is: When is the winner notified? Now? Two days before 12 March or on the day of 12 March? Will anyone answer me? Love HGTV!

I’m responding to Esla’s idea about setting up a website where the proceeds go towards helping the winner of the DH2009. I think it’s a wonderful idea, and would like to add that Ebay auctions under an account set up or linked to a Paypal account by HGTV might also be a good way for people to participate, where people can sell their unwanted furnishings, decor, (you name it) with the proceeds going towards helping the winner pay the taxes and hopefully thus being able to keep the house.

Well I thought I would post a note on here today I know that there are a lot of people who would love to have this home!
I will say that not one day goes by that I don’t DREAM BIG
I am a college student and a mother of two boys. At 23 yrs old I lost my boys to a custody battle in 2004 because of money it was the hardest thing I BELIEVE I have ever gone through but I have held such strong faith that a miracle could happen so I pray that I could win this home so that I could have a place to live for me and my boys. I work for apple Iphone tech support in Texas I make just enough money to get by so to be able to have a home would be a blessing from god above
So I will DREAM BIG a reuniting with my children and a place we could call home:) Thanks

My prayers for a miracle to happen I am not a selfish person I do believe that all of the time I have spent by myself away from my children and observing other people and their families has made me THANKFUL FOR EVERYTHING !!! Looking at this home all the way thru, noticeing all the special touches in this house, I am so dreaming to see everything. It’s like a blue sky in the mist of the whitest clouds, a beautiful sunrise in all the glorious colors, a bust of the brightest sunshine, greenery of the colors of nature, and browns of the earths richness filled with all the loving enviorment of this serene home town. Like a real piece of life on this world. I have no questions only the element of surprise of each and every corner would I want to enjoy. My wife is a one year breast cancer survivor.
She wanted to quit her job to be able to rest physically but she can’t due to financial reasons with my only meager income. Winning this dream home would be a dream come true for her and for us.
My wife and I love this beautiful home so much. We can’t stop dreaming and talking about it even at the kitchen table during our meals. I hope it will be a dream come true. We are hoping and dreaming BIG.

Gosh, there are so many posts. Last year, my daughter and I watched and waited for the ambush to start and right away knew they were not in our town. I did wonder if it was actually a “live” feed or not. The winner a few years ago (Nakawa)was the mom of a guy I grew up with, that was really fun to watch and kind of a shock to actually know who the winner was, but now afraid the winner won’t come from our state again anytime soon. They were the nicest people. Anyway, my birthday is March 14th and my boyfriend and I (of 8 years) have been talking wedding too. What a combo that would be to have these both happen in the same year! I think if I won the Dream Home, I’d do a Christmas in July party for my family or something. He is in the “firefighting” business and so am I, so he’s off to help with fires in TX, and other states starting Monday, so hoping if I get ambushed he’s still here : Good luck all.
I would think after the drawing today HGTV team would be working behind the scenes-background check, ambush plan,etc. I figure it will take them a awhile. Then they will notify the “potential finialists”, as to what day/time they would be notified should they have won-HHUUUUMMMMM. Quietly as the family and friends gather around for a chance to be a winner BAM then there’s the ambush!

well, my daughter, kayla, prays every single night that we’ll be given the chance to win this wonderful dream home. we only live about 1.5 hrs away and she’s been really excited and hoping that one day her wish will come true. all we can do now is to wait and pray
