  1. IT IS IN MY HUMBLED OPINION THAT THE NEXT WINNER WILL COME FROM THE SOUTH NAMELY MISSISSIPPI. THIS IS MY PRAYER, MY HOPES, MY DREAMS. WITH EVERYTHING THAT IS GOING ON IN OUR COUNTRY RIGHT NOW, WE ALL NEED TO TRY TO STAY POSITIVE AND AND TO KEEP DREAMING NO MATTER WHAT. I WANT TO SHARE A QUOTE,”WE LIVE IN THE PRESENT, WE DREAM OF THE FUTURE, BUT WE LEARN ETERNAL TRUTHS FROM THE PAST.BY L. MONTGOMERY. MAY THE GRACE OF GOD SHINE UPON EACH OF YOU TO COVER WHAT EVER MAY BE GOING ON IN YOUR LIVES I KNOW IT TOUGH OUT THERE, A COUPLE OF DAYS AGO I WAS DIAGNOSED WITH DIABETES, TALK ABOUT A RADICAL CHANGE IN ONES LIFE, AFTER THE INITIAL SHOCK AND MOUNTAIN OF TEARS I KNOW THAT I CAN STILL PUT MY TRUST IN A LOVING GOD WHO WILL NEVER LEAVE ME OR FORSAKE ME. MY HEART GOES OUT TO SO MANY OF YOU I HAVE READ YOU COMMENTS AND I GET YOUR STRUGGLES AND I JUST WANT TO SAY DON’T GIVE UP THERE IS HOPE ON THE OTHERSIDE OF WHATEVER LIFE THROWS YOUR WAY. PLEASE KEEP PEACE WITHIN YOURSELF AND IT WILL SPILL OUT TO OTHERS. BE WELL MY BLOGGER FRIENDS AND GOOD LUCK!!

  2. I can sincerely say that if it isn’t me who wins the 09 Dream Home…I truly hope it is one of you that blog here! I have really enjoyed coming to the site to read that you guys are just as excited as I am! I love reading the funny stories that you have had with your families regarding HGTV van’s watching you and checking your caller ID boxes(I am right there with ya!) I love the poems and the funny songs! I don’t post often but I am here reading everyday! Thanks guys! I feel as if I have made a lot of friends out there in computer land…even if you don’t know me and I really don’t know you…in some strange way I feel like I know you guys!

    Good Luck!

  4. Well if they contact family the only one HGTV could contact is my Mother in Law that lives 2 1/2 hours away from us. It is only us 3 (my husband, my son, and myself) living in this town, so she is the closest family member they can find (unless they are planning on flying my parents from Guatemala and REALLY ambush me on the 15th!!!! wow! talking about GOOD TV!!!! that would be awesome!) In any case, she calls every sunday and she didn’t call today, so maybe she’s trying not to spill the beans…he,he,he…now I will know for sure if all of the sudden they decide to come and celebrate my father in law’s birthday (he’s B-day is on the 14th) that sunday and stay past 6:00p…he,he,he…then I will start getting suspicious for sure. Like I told my husband today, I’m sure I will be sitting in my living room watching HGTV when all of the sudden I will recognize my front door as they announce they are about to ambush the winner!!!!! I will run to the door and be….OMG!!!!!!

  5. Oh by the way! Did you guys see that they just posted the call for the next super fan!!!! They are asking you to submit a video!!! Any of you regular bloggers could fit in those shoes without breaking a sweat! That’s another dream to focus on!!!! You should all totally send a video! Maybe next year we’ll even have a superfan and a loyal sidekick!

  6. I haven’t finished reading all the blogs yet, but would just like to respond to something Jacqueline said.

First, I wish you luck in the drawing :) . With the DH 07 Winter Park DH – they contacted the winner’s son and told him his father was a finalist. They can find your relatives just by looking in the phone book. His son came on the Dream House message board and told us this.

There are no papers to sign for them to do the ambush. You gave them the right to do that by the agreement you checked on the entry form.

For another DH winner, they found out where the winner worked and enlisted the help of her employers to help ambushe her.

So keep the dream alive. We are not saying that because we all believe as you do, but because some believe it really can be one of us ;D …maybe it could even be YOU!!

  7. Where is our JennyD? Do you think she could be the winner and has not been on the Blogs so as not to give it away?

Just think, if JennyD won, Sonoma’s Plaza will have evening movies outside!!

THAT’S IT!!!!!! JENNY D IS THE WINNER!!!!!! :D

  8. For all you Dreamers still out there, let's clear our throats and sing along to our very own BOLO song, "Somebody's Watching Me".

    I’m just an average gal

    With an average life

I work from nine to five

    Yeah, I pay the price

All I dream is to be sippin’ wine

    In my new Dream Home

But why does it always feel

Like my dreams are not alone

    And (Today I feel like)

    (Somebody's watching me)

    And I feel anxiety

    Whooooa-oh-oh

    (Today I feel like)

    (Somebody's watching me)

Tell me, is it just a dream

When I come home at night

I can hear a van speed by

People call me on the phone

    Are they the decoys

What if the HGTV crew can't find me

    Am I just paranoid

    When I’m in the shower

I’m afraid to wash my hair

‘Cause I might open my eyes

And find the HGTV crew standing there

    People say I’m crazy

    Just a little touched

But don’t you think this ‘ambush’

Is just little bit too much

    That’s why

    (Today I feel like)

    (Somebody's watching me)

    And I feel anxiety

    Whooooa, oh-oh

    (Today I feel like)

    (Somebody's watching me)

    Who’s playin’ tricks on me

    [Instrumental Interlude]

    (Who’s watching me)

    I don’t know anymore

Is the HGTV crew watching me

    (Who’s watching)

Or is it Super Fan watching me

    (Tell me, who’s watching)

And I don’t feel sane anymore

    Oh, what a mess

I wonder who’s watching me now

    (Who)

    The IRS

    (NO!!!)

    (Today I feel like)

    (Somebody's watching me)

    And I feel anxiety

    Whooooa, oh-oh

    (Today I feel like)

    (Somebody's watching me)

Tell me, is it just a dream

    (Today I feel like)

    (Somebody's watching me)

    And I feel anxiety

    Whooooa, oh-oh

    (Today I feel like)

    (Somebody's watching me)

    Who’s playin’ tricks on me

    (Who’s watching me)

    (Today I feel like)

    (Somebody's watching me)

    Oooooooh

    Whooooa-oh-oh

    (Today I feel like)

    (Somebody's watching me)

    So, who can it be????

It's not over yet, so let's keep dreaming!!! Good Luck!

  9. Wow I can’t get enought of this Dream Home09. I’m either looking at the videos or pics whenever I have free time. Is just such a beautiful house. I enjoy reading the stimulating comments from everyone in the blogs. To those who comment on trying to bring rain on our parade of winning this Dream Home 09, nothing anyone says can do such a thing, as long as we can dream. Don’t let anyone tell you that you can’t win. I know I haven’t.

  10. Hi Everyone!

I’m still not feeling well. I feel my cold is getting worse, so I may have to pay a visit to my doctor soon. Thanks, Tamara & Brenda for your suggestions. PJ, still haven’t tested the whiskey remedy for fear I won’t be able to spit it out! Imagine if HGTV paid a visit after that – wouldn’t want to be labeled, “The Drunkin’ Blogger”!

Stay positive and keep the dream alive! :)

  12. Dear Elsa: I understand what you mean about your middle name…I feel the pain! As a legal secretary for 25 years every time I got a raise, I put it in Mutual Funds for my retirement..never enjoying the money, but rather choosing to bank it for an early retirement!! Well, that early retirement came 5 years ago & as of today, 70% of my retirement is gone!! So, I am faced with a dilemma…do I need to go back to work, or settle for what Social Security decides to cough up for me when I become eligible? My investments are still on paper, but I don’t know if I will live long enough for the Market to recover? We are all facing similar predicaments, but you know what? I just keep on DREAMING!! I can’t afford not to DREAM BIG! Dreaming is as natural as breathing for me! I have been dreaming so long about this home in Sonoma (mostly because this Dream House is so close to my children & grandchildren), I feel like it is already mine!! I have to admit all is quiet on the Western Front, so my chances of winning are diminishing! But, I will pick up my disappointments, if I don’t win, and start dreaming about the next Dream Home!! Life can be so simple!! We can thank HGTV for giving all of us something special in our lives on a daily basis! It is wonderful to meet great people on this site & exchange thoughts & ideas!

Gosh, Coop, I miss you!! We need your words of wisdom here…hopefully, you are not settling down & deciding to stay in Thailand? This stirs up a song in my head by The Beatles (Lennon/McCartney):

“When I find myself in times of trouble
    Mother Mary comes to me
Speaking words of wisdom, let it be.
And in my hour of darkness
She is standing right in front of me
Speaking words of wisdom, let it be.
Let it be, let it be.
Whisper words of wisdom, let it be.

And when the broken hearted people
    Living in the world agree,
There will be an answer, let it be.
For though they may be parted there is
Still a chance that they will see
There will be an answer, let it be.
Let it be, let it be. Yeah
There will be an answer, let it be.

And when the night is cloudy,
There is still a light that shines on me,
Shine on until tomorrow, let it be.
I wake up to the sound of music
    Mother Mary comes to me
Speaking words of wisdom, let it be.
Let it be, let it be.
There will be an answer, let it be.
Let it be, let it be,
Whisper words of wisdom, let it be!!”

    So, HGTV…..LET IT BE!!!!!!!!!

  13. NewJerseyGal: Sounds like you really should visit your doctor…you may need to be on antibiotics to stop any secondary infections! We need you up and on your toes for that knock on your door by HGTV on Sunday!! By the way, loved your song of inspiration…thank you!!

Miss you JennyD!! Did you decide to hitch a ride with Coop to Thailand? Are you both working undercover for HGTV???

lovelykitty: Thank you for your words to encourage each and everyone of us to keep our dreams alive.

Marie Miller on March 9, 2009 at 9:21 am
  14. LovelyKitty: Thank you for the info. I feel a little rested now. I know my previous posts seemed negative, but I was trying to prepare myself if I am not the winner. I don’t like to dream for something so bad and don’t get it. I like to have the attitude that if I win, that’s wonderful, and if I don’t win that’s still wonderful. I believe in what the bible says that we should not be anxious for nothing. Anxiety is not good and if one of us wins, then Praise God! If we don’t then still Praise God. It was not for us and God has something even better for us.

Based on the previous posts explaining the process of selecting the winner, I admit I was wrong and misunderstood the rules. That makes room for still a little bit of hope. So, with that being said, I’m still hoping and I’ve prayed and now I have faith that if this is for me, then I’ll receive it. Keep the dream alive until 3/15!

Jacqueline on March 9, 2009 at 10:14 am
  15. I still love you Jacqueline and I remember the encouraging post that you gave earlier this year. I needed those words at that time so, you did what you were suppose to do and you blessed me at that time even though others did not comment. You know that negative words/lies travel faster than positive words/truth. I agree with what you have just said. You definitely have to praise God whether you win or not and know that it wasn’t for you because if it was you would have received it but, you can’t feel that God has done you wrong. Instead of praying for something (especially if you don’t know that it is for you), you should be praying that God will lead you to what is yours and that your purpose in life will be done. So many people want what isn’t theirs and praying for others blessings instead of realizing they have their own. God knows what we are ready for and what we need and when we need it. With saying that….GOD IS EXCELLENT and he is an AWESOME GOD!!!! I love GOD and all of you. I forgive any negative comments posted and I know that it is due to the stress level of the nearing announcement of the winner. May God bless you all!

MLuciano on March 9, 2009 at 10:32 am
  16. Jacqueline, I know you are a lovely person who really wants the best for us all. I can tell that by your blogs.

Don't let go of your dreams. If it won't be this house, it may be a bigger and better house for you :) .

Girl, I will be with you in spirit, on the 15th as we watch the winner being ambushed. Wouldn't it be something if it is YOU!! :D

lovelykitty on March 9, 2009 at 12:00 pm
  17. Thank You MLuciano for those most encouraging words. With all being said and the last post about Patty being contacted by HGTV, it seems the winner has been contacted. Praise God! May her blessing of this home be what she needs. Love You All!

  18. New Jersey Gal & Marie Miller – Loved the lyrics! They are added to the Bloggers Quotes, Poems & Lyrics Collection!!

All of the words negative or positive are great! We all speak from the heart and what we are feeling at the moment – PLEASE EXPRESS YOURSELVES FREELY – that’s what this blogging venture is all about! DREAM BIG and EXPRESS YOURSELVES!

Katherine on March 9, 2009 at 12:20 pm
  19. Marie Miller – I like your song choice. I’ve been thinking of the song Imagine by John Lennon for quite some time now.

    Imagine there’s no heaven
    It’s easy if you try
    No hell below us
    Above us only sky
    Imagine all the people
    Living for today…

    Imagine there’s no countries
    It isn’t hard to do
Nothing to kill or die for
    And no religion too
    Imagine all the people
    Living life in peace…

You may say I’m a dreamer
But I’m not the only one
I hope someday you’ll join us
And the world will be as one

    Imagine no possessions
    I wonder if you can
No need for greed or hunger
    A brotherhood of man
    Imagine all the people
    Sharing all the world…

You may say I’m a dreamer
But I’m not the only one
I hope someday you’ll join us
And the world will live as one

DBCoop – It’s been long enough now.
Deryck – It seems like you’ve been quite too.
Jenny D – Where are you? Did you catch winner’s silence?
lovelykitty – I’m with you. I’m going to stay positive to the very end! Will you be attending the house viewing by the winners? I will be looking for you and the girls. Of course, it could be you!
JandV’s mom – Now my “most precious” has caught something really nasty. My poor little guy is surrounded by inhalers and such. If this is what Bitt’s, Brenda and others have had, God bless you. I’m glad that you’re all doing better.
Ingrid and Bobo – I’m glad that they moved your video. You deserved a place of distinction. Are you recognized more in town now?
I kind of would have like to see them move the rest of the videos too. In any case, great job HGTV!
Thank you for a whole lot of fun and the opportunity to blog with some really interesting, caring and creative people!
I’m dreaming on…won’t you join me?

terri on March 9, 2009 at 1:15 pm
  20. Deryck – That was quiet. Oh Marie, do I join the typo club now?

terri on March 9, 2009 at 1:18 pm
  21. I love every dream home you build and have entered the sweepstakes for the past 3 years (just a baby I know) including the Green Home. Of course I would love to win but my question/suggestion is–Are you ever going to build a dream/green home that the average person (such as myself) could afford to keep?
    Thanks, Nancy

Nancy on March 9, 2009 at 3:35 pm
  22. New Jersey Gal, sorry you are not feeling well. Take care of it so you will be ready to face the camera on the 15th. Well, if you don’t look surprised, and look doppy, we will know it’s because your may just be a bit doped up! :D

  23. I think we are all winners at heart!! <3
    Good luck to you all!

I really don’t care who wins. I am just grateful for sweepstakes like this that keep people’s hope alive. Especially in tough times like these. :)

God Bless you all & the wonderful Dream Homes!

  24. Marie Miller: Please go back to work, You are so talented, work you enjoy shouldn’t be so hard to find. You are young, so have fun.
Yes, my portfolio is almost down to zero. Tough times for the economy, can’t sell my condo, so I may be homeless soon. Now I’ve shared more than I wanted. No pity party here. I never expected to win the Dream Home, but I love the friends that I met on this blog. Thanks HGTV for that. .

Clock watcher on March 9, 2009 at 6:53 pm
  25. You know what Lovelykitty, you are what your name says “Lovely”, You are so encouraging. Thank you so much for your positive attitude. I was stressed earlier with my negative posts, but I think all of us are feeling the stress as we near the winner’s ambush on the 15th. Well, if and when I win, everyone is welcome to my new home in sunny Sonoma California for a SISP and a bar-be-que! How about that.

Also, guess what, I got this call today from a number that was only about 8 digits long. They asked me to be present at a Hotel in my city on 3/12 and to be dressed professionally. They gave me the address and time to be there and I tried to call the number back to see what company it was and the recording said the number was an international call and could not connect. That was very suspicious HMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM! Are you trying to tell me something HGTV. I hope so. I was also driving to the mall today with my 16 year old and a truck with the word Sonoma was on the back of it. I asked my daughter did she see that and she did and then I drove beside an Arcadia. That was too ironic. I am really excited now about who has won. May be me or one of our bloggers. We will see on the 15th.

    Keep Dreaming.

Jacqueline on March 9, 2009 at 7:01 pm
  26. Somebody already know the winner is. HGTV always set up from the winner’s family, relatives, and friends to surprise him or her in ahead of time to set the date for this Sunday. HGTV did the same thing in the last few years. I am not going to watch this Sunday knowing that I didn’t win. But I will come to this website to see who is the winner and congratulation to that person.

Tonio on March 10, 2009 at 11:53 am
  27. Esla:
You are not BROKE. My bible tells me that words have power. Speak life to your situation. We all are feeling the crunch of bad financial times, but if you are christian, you live in God’s economy and in his economy there are no hard times. He will give us the desires of our heart, if we seek him first. Be blessed!

  28. Gail: This might have been covered before but, can you tell me what the small door is for in the study? Is it a utility closet for the cleaning stuff? I think that’s what someone said, but can’t remember.
    Thank you,
    Lori
p.s. I know with soooo many blogs, you probably have to pick just a few. I completely understand. Good luck with all you do!

Lori on March 10, 2009 at 10:30 pm
  29. I’m reading the blogs and wondering how I missed out on all this blogging fun for the past several weeks??

Here’s my big question: I too, am NOT giving up, BUT how do they insure the winner doesn’t leave town, etc.? I wonder if they just tail the person wherever they go?? Otherwise, there would HAVE to be some pre-contact with family, etc.

Bridget on March 10, 2009 at 11:00 pm
  30. You are sweet Jacqueline, thank you. I do hope you don’t plan on going to meet someone at a hotel without knowing who or what the company is. That doesn’t at all sound like HGTV, nor would they call with an international number, being that they are just in the U.S.

And if you are the winner, I will sure to be there at your SISBP. I will bring the salad :) .

Clock watcher…not pitying you, but I am praying for you, that you know this too shall pass and you will be alright.
I too am happy about all the fun wonderful people I have met here.

Lori…that small door in the study is a closet from under the stairs. It is pretty roomy, and they had a lot of stuff in there.

lovelykitty on March 11, 2009 at 4:43 am
  31. Ann, that was for a completely different raffle. The wife bought a raffle ticket for her husband as an anniversary present because he lost his job. The home is in Marin county, not Sonoma. Saw it on the news a few weeks ago.

Don't worry, the winner of the HGTV home hasn't been announced yet.

Rachel Rivera on March 11, 2009 at 12:39 pm
  32. I am not sure about other people but our local newspaper ( Sacramento Bee) already published several weeks ago the identity of the winner someone in Danville ,Ca a couple who had both just lost there jobs.. and they said they would sell it as they already had a home in Danville…..

  33. Hi everyone! On Valentines’s Day, my husband surprised me with a tour of the HGTV dream home. We live in Northern CA. While the Dream Home is quite beautiful, the down side is that the winner has to pay all taxes and fees, which the tour guide told us added up to about $800,000-$1,000,000. So, if you can’t pay the taxes, you have to put up the home for sale. What a bummer!!!!! The outside was beautiful, the front and back porches reminded me of the homes I was raised in back in PA. Inside, the kitchen and family room were fabulous. The home has beautiful curb appeal and the other homes in the community have to be turn-of-the-century design. They were gorgeous!!! What is cool about the community, is that it is not gated, so anyone can drive by to see it. There are homes sites still available, and as long as they are built to specs, you can own one for about 2 mil.

PS. to Ann who inquired about the couple in Danville CA,,they actually won a home from a 50/50 drawing, that is hosted by a charity in the bay area.

bjwasilko on March 11, 2009 at 2:37 pm
  34. Does anyone know if they have or will be posting the FLOOR PLAN for the DH2009? I have looked but can’t seem to find one. I am so excited I can’t WAIT to find out the winner….the suspense is crazy!

    the_sayers on March 11, 2009 at 3:56 pm
  35. LovelyKitty: Thank you for your concerns. I am a step ahead of you. I contacted the hotel to verify what was told to me and it is true. I am also taking my 26 year old son with me “just in case” I’ll let you know what really happened. I also got a confirmation call from them today confirming whether or not I was coming tommorrow, but the number was an unknown number. The number they called from Monday was not an international number, but from New York. I confirmed that yesterday. I was wrong about the international call. Anyhow we will see. Love all you fellow bloggers! Keep the dream alive.
