Hand-Stitched Dream Home Treasure

Cheryl and Joe Smith were presented with the queen-size Quilt of Dreams during the Winner’s Weekend celebration recently held at the HGTV Dream Home 2009 in Sonoma, Calif.
The 100-percent cotton “Rail Fence” quilt features a zigzag layout of fabric blocks in wine-country colors of green, grape, tan and red. HGTV Dream Home 2009 is pictured on the fabric as well as in the center of the quilt.
The quilt was crafted by members of the HGTV Dream Home message board (“mbers”), who signed their screen names and well wishes on fabric blocks and sent them to Joann Dailey of Ragland, Ala., and Janet Green, of Chattanooga, Tenn., for final layout, construction and quilting. This is the eighth consecutive year that members have created a Quilt of Dreams for the winner of the HGTV Dream Home.

Wow! This is too fabulous that HGTV has brought people together from all over the country. I admire the message boarders who have spent so many of their hours to do such a nice thing. I know how time consuming quilts are to make. The wine-country colors are a wonderful touch…so creative! It is beautiful and, as always, I wish the Smith Family the best
Thank you HGTV!

Lynn are you now the new SuperFan, will you be videotaped on the new HGTV upcoming home? Good luck to you on all of your new endeavors.
The quilt is beautiful!!! What a great gift. Thanks to those of you on the Message Board for doing such a great job!!!
What a striking gift and wonderful memory of the Smiths’ 2009 Dream Home win. I can imagine that many, many hours of hard work went into bringing the quilt together, possibly even more hours than weary Dream Home bloggers have put into researching MARY’s latest clue, which is tougher than a $2 dollar steak and harder to crack than the vault at Fort Knox.
Congratulations to all those from the Message Board for their contribution. I envy the fact that they had full control of the board, so to speak, while the search for the 2010 Dream Home location continues to wander fitfully from coast to coast and from state to state.
Completely at the mercy of our Senior Editor, we are left twisting in the wind, with only a pair of mismatched eyes to guide us. Unseeing in the darkness, we stumble, in vain, towards one dead end after another. With so little to sustain us in our journey of trial and tribulation, we heroically persue the faintest glimmers of light at the end of the darkest tunnels. If only another clue were forthcoming might we gather our strength and shoulder our burdens, to resume yet again the grueling quest towards resolution of this epic mystery, and thus to our salvation.
Besides, unless we get another good clue, I’ll keep posting all this silly stuff!!!
Hey Coop please go to the mainboard, and check out the new clue. I think you will be pleasantly surprised!!!
Beautiful Job on the quilt again this year! It is always fun for us as MB members to do this. We look forward to it just after the new location is announced. Very hard work and ton of time the ladies put into this treasured project yearly. Thank You to them!
Congrats to The winners of the Home and this most treasured quilt!
I am so happy that they finally showed the beautiful “DH Quilt” that the message board members make every year.
And I am so thankful that a patch is always made for me in my name to add to the quilt because I don’t know how to sew.
DBCoop……you are TRULY a hoot
Thank you again this year to everyone who participates in the Dream Home Quilt — mst particularly to SGD & nanatoo!
So Happy to see the Dreamhome 2010 quilt presentation picture. We are always so happy to see the joy on the Dreamehome winners face. This has been such a joy to those of us and the message board and so happy the bloggers can share this joy with us. Congratulations to the Smith’s. It was so enjoyable touring your home in beautiful Sonoma.
I meant to put 2009, but with all the anticipation for 2010, I typed next year.
