Tuesday’s Clue: Can You Crack It?

What’s the connection between the American black bear and
the HGTV Dream Home 2010 location? Photo by chascar.

You think I’d let a day slip by without a clue? Come on!

I am thinking of a word. Starts with c and ends with r. You’ll find it somewhere in the HGTV Green Home 2009 Master Bathroom feature article. Figure it out and then tell me how it relates to the HGTV Dream Home 2010 location.

  2. One of the strongest clues to me is the EYES HAVE IT….because there is three eyes and 3 “i”s in Virginia…as someone pointed out.

  3. I don’t think one of the eyes is Rep. Bobby Scott. Why would in his pics would he wear glasses but not in that one?

  8. Hey where is my partner in the Massachusetts arguement – Annie? After all, it was she who guessed Massachusetts first….I feel abandoned!!!

  9. CATHY= No, not a stretch at all, this is what I found— remember that blog way back when on different house designs? And an italian villa was one of the choices???

“The website is titled, “The Italian Style in Historic Chatham, Virginia” It stated, “Following the Greek and Gothic Revivals, the Italian Style was chronologically the third Romantic architectural genre of Victorian America”. The Historic Homes in Virginia, which displayed, are inspired by an Italian- Italian Villa Theme!”

I think that this is the (RAVIOLI) clue

  13. Good effort, JeanieB, though I don’t think the eye belongs to Bobby Scott, the Virginia Rep from Richmond. I enlarged the photo 300% to scan it, but I’m not convinced of a match.

Thanks for the insight into the Chickahominy tribe and “the Chick” river, Lynn. Certainly some beautiful property available around there as well, but one thing I’ve learned for sure with MARY’s clues, we can’t count our chitlins before they’re hatched!?

Bottom line: I don’t think we’re out of the woods yet—at this point, all we can do is grin and bear it.

  21. DBCoop,

The Richmond VA River Road home is nice. This community would be a great location for the 2010 Dream Home.

How did the sanding go? Just thinking about needles in your nose makes me cringe. I feel for you, but I hope everything went well.

  28. Why are you linking us to this old blog, Is this a clue?

Cami on March 24, 2010 at 11:59 pm
  29. Why is there a link back to current DH blog on this one and not the other blog links?

Cami on March 25, 2010 at 6:17 am
  30. I think the intended clue for 2010 was black bear and corner, as in Four Corners-New Mexico- claims the bottom east portion of that corner. IMHO. But carry on, at this point it is anyone's guess. Most don't consider this link a clue to 2011, and it likely isn't. Or is it?

Cami on March 26, 2010 at 11:48 pm
    • I feel confused. Things point both ways….I agree with you, I guess I went wrong direction and did not read it carefully – silly me, trying to do things too fast. ooops!
Thanks for telling me this :-)
