After looking at these pictures, I tried to line them up and I think this forehead goes with second eye, not the first one. The head is tilted so and it matches the second eye much better.

As to the Dogwood tree in New Mexico, it IS found in the higher elevations, though known as a dwarf version:

Virginia is NOT out of the running simply because we’ve identified the owner of the second eye as Gov Bill Richardson of NM. You might recall that the first eye belongs to Virginia Gov. Tim Kaine, and we’ve yet to identify the third eye (which may or may not bring us good karma!)

As the last eye to identify, the third eye MAY be the most telling, or simply more of the three option format of clues.
Will we ever be able to draw a bead on the target? Perhaps the mystery eye will be our window to the (filet of) sole at the Academy Ocean Grill in Orleans, Cape Cad.

Yep Coop: You need to climb back up that crowded cactus limb ’cause that hairline does belong to Bill Richardson, who is serving his second term as Governor of New Mexico! Oh boy, I do not want to give up on Virigina, but the clues are starting to weigh heavily toward New Mexico. I have to admit, I love the gentle breezes and ocean air opposed to dry arid weather. Interesting about the Dwarf dogwood…I researched it a little bit, but did not find a photo of the flower buds? Are they like the photo clue from Mary?
I guess we need to decide which city now…. How about Santa Fe…it was founded in 1607, is the capital of the state of New Mexico!!
Santa Fe is located between mountain and desert and is rich in outdoors activities, particularly hiking and cycling!! There is the “The Genoveva Chavez Community Center” containing three swimming pools, an ice rink, a gymnasium, and a fitness center. Just a thought…about the teepee clue…well you will find the ‘Kasha-Katuwe Tent Rocks National Monument’ which is just south of town near Cochiti Lake, and oddly enough, the rocks are shaped liked teepees (or tents)?

I’m not sure yet whether the third eye is that of Wisconsin Gov. Jim Doyle, but as Lynn posted, if it is, all three, Kaine, Richardson and Doyle have Massachusetts links.

I have HP image zone…flipped it there and pasted it onto a word doc and then copied and pasted Mary’s eye #3 next to it… How did you ever find Doyle? Did you go looking at all the Governors?
I like your Santa Fe Splendor, Marie—it’s got style and it’s got space. My only two wishes would be to redirect the traffic from having to pass through the dining room, and a 3 car garage. In that case, yes, divinely liveable (along with some nice shade trees planted about, and those dwarf boxwoods).

Hi Lynn, I remember looking over that little beauty when you posted it before. I haven’t picked anything out yet. I guess I will just hold on until the bitter end & see where the Dream Home will be.
I can’t decide (VA could be it) but I have to say Blue Lake, Sabrina Basin, Orange County, CA!
I missed the last clue, about the word that starts with the letter C and ends with the letter R. The only thing that I can see from those Master Bath photos is that the COLORs (blue, white, beige, mother of pearl ivory)are beautiful! I love the color scheme.
And it does seem that New Mexico will be the next location. Great!!! I cannot wait.

While the state flower of Massachusetts is the Mayflower, the state flower of Virginia is that lovely American Dogwood..I see more positive identifications for clues for Virginia than that of Massachusetts?

I caught up on all of the blogs. Honestly, my feeling is that unfortunately, we are reading “too much” into it. It was OK to do with Mary’s staements, and the what if or what not in the First Picture Gallery. The way I see it— it is a picture of Gov. Richardson, and it will be New Mexico.
But—- only one way to Solve this. On my way to dinner, I was thinking, OK, how does Ravioli or even Ivory connect to New Mexico??? and then there’s Oats?
So, we have to go back to Square One. All of the Clues ( or most of them) have to Line up with New Mexico ( most likely Sante Fe).
If many clues do not line up—- then I think it will be Massachusetts.
(Then again— could all these governor’s have a connection to Virginia— that would probably be a stretch though)

Is the dream home going to be near Crater Lake Oregon…
We all know this picture is of Gov. Richardson. What about the RAVIOLI?
I have only one thing to say: the Dogwood is Virginia’s state flower and state tree. That clue gave us only ONE option, not a confusing choice of three, as others have.
Aside from various tenuous links to other states, I can’t imagine the intent of posting the Dogwood clue if it was designed to steer us in the wrong direction.
Thank you Coop…I’m feeling better about Virginia again, and totally agree with you about the Dogwood! My head is swimming with all the ambiguous clues, so I think I shall sleep on it…maybe I’ll dream up the exact location in my state of La-la land!!

Hi Marie Miller, DBCoop, Renee & Diana. I am about to turn in for the night also.
The only link I can find is that all three governors are of the Democratic Party. They all attended the 2008 Democratic National Convention in Denver, Colorado from August 25th through the 28th. They are all Roman Catholics. And, as previously discussed, they all went to schools in Boston.
Yikes! I am so confused and can’t wait to go to bed…sweet HGTV dreams to you all!

Now— I just thought of a Possible Connection to ALL 3 Pictures of the Governor’s to Virginia—- in fact, I think that I can connect Every Single Congressman and Every Single Senator in the U.S.A. to Virginia too—
The Connection is, is that they all work in Washington, DC. But guess where they all live???? Some live in Maryland, but a lot of them live in Arlington, Virginia. In fact, they commonly speak of their ” D.C. Apartments”— but they are really living in Arlington, Virginia.
It’s kind of like; if you live in Brooklyn— you may tell people that you live in NYC— it’s pretty much the same thing

Well, if you live in Brooklyn you live in NYC, in the Borough of Brooklyn. NYC is made up of five boroughs. Brooklyn, Bronx, Queens , Staten Island, and Manhattan Island.

and his eyes match with the thirth eye.
I’m not quite onboard with the Jim Doyle call yet. The difficulty is finding a photo with high enough resolution to magnify without losing image quality. Then the issue of when and where the photos were taken, and aspects of lighting AND of course, possible makeup or touch-ups to the photos we’re comparing to—the “official” Gov. Doyle website photo shows deeper outside edge creases to the eyes than in MARY’s photo, and a couple of pinpoint moles at the lower eyelid and outer brow in MARY’s photo do not appear in the official photo. Eye color shade is slightly different, which is also where monitor and printer variations come into play.
I’ve tried to convince myself it’s Gov. Doyle, but still holding out for a “noggin” shot from MARY as the clincher.
I don’t know, it just feels like there’s something rockin’ in Knoxville, and so far, I haven’t felt the earth move under my feet!
NJGAL= Well, I must be mistaken. When I think of NYC– I think of Manhattan. I know that Queens County covers Queens, etc… (I’ve thought of it in terms of counties, not borroughs.)

DB COOP= Yes, I agree— something may be rockin’ in Knoxville. I’ve got to say, that when I first saw that picture of Gov. Richardson— I wasn’t even so sure about that. I didn’t say anything, because it seemed that everyone is so convinced!!!
1. If you look at the picture on his website, there’s a little notch of hair in the Middle of his Forehead (on the top.)
2. I don’t see that notch with the picture on this blog— but, could have meant a new haircut.
But— I’ve finished the “Scrabble Board”, and it looks pretty Convincing for New Mexico so far. (But, that’s just as far as I got.)
I really LOVE VIRGINIA, but you know what? NEW MEXICO looks really nice. So far from what I’ve seen; it’s a bustling, energetic, lively, healthy-living city to be in.
I’ll post it tomorrow. Still hoping for Virginia— but New Mexico will be very nice

None of the prevopus dream home locations have disappointed me and I am sure that this one won’t either. I have watched all the old dream home episodes and one thing that I have leared is that there is more than one kind of beatiful and it can be found in places I have never seen before. Def Still holding out for New Mexico, which has been my guess all along. Someone mentioned the point I had made in earlier postings about the fact that dogwoods can grow in NM, the Bunchberry Dogwood in specific. Enough of this coastal stuff, time to head to the southwest, and after having lived in TX who wouldnt want to stick around somewhere down there. Now if it could be a ranch house it’d be perfect.
Just anounce NM won already! It’s so obvious…. Duh? Land of enchantment will be a cool spot since it’s such an unknown area. Did they start home yet? Must be started or built since it’s a few months from showcase.
This final clue confirmed I was right on New Mexico! I think a nice rustic ranch style home will be great. I wonder whereabouts in NM? Santa Fe mountains are nice… they must be building it already so we’ll probably get a sneak peak soon enough

Coop: Is this area in the Silver Springs area? The hills came to be called Boston Hill around 1880 after the Massachusetts and New Mexico Mining Company (also known as the “Boston Company”) purchased the Legal Tender claim. By 1883, the company was in financial trouble and the mine changed hands once again.
I am having trouble getting past the RAVIOLI clue. Although I have seen some connections to VA and NM, none seem quite so strong as the connection in Massachusetts.
I can’t wait for another clue or the reveal of the location!!!

The “ivory” connection in NM could be the “ivory jewelry” made from elk teeth, Ivory turquoise, or what are called the “ivory candles” of the yucca plant. Silver City area of NM sounds good to me. WARMTH!!!!

njgal: The person that did LLC is Alan Archer. I googled him and found him to be a real estate person in the Silver City area. The LLC was set up Feb 2009 as Dream Home New Mexico LLC.
Honestly—- I “Googled” all the “SCRABBLE” Clues, and they are Very Strong to New Mexico. But, looking at the sites that I saw, Both Albuquerque and Sante Fe look like energetic, bursting, healty-living, fun cities!!!! They look very, very nice. And I know that Sante Fe has a strong S.W. art area.

Personally, I’m not too much into the tacos, tequila sunrise thing.— and really, the only states that would take me Out West— would be California or Las Vegas (maybe Colorado).

And, I have heard that there seems to be a wave of “retiree’s” definitely choosing Arizona instead of Florida. It’s not that they are not coming to Florida anymore—but more people for some reason are discovering the “southwest”
Its just for me, living in Florida— I probably wouldn’t chose another “warm” climate location to live in.
