  1. I always cook way too much food. The resulting problem is having enough containers to send food home with everyone!

  2. Perhaps they are doing some framing and want to keep the first part a mystery??

  3. Katydid: Yep, Jack T. as the King!! It seems to fit! Who should play Anna? UMMMMMM…I think it should be you! I certainly cannot carry a tune in a bucket, so I nomate you to carry the role of Anna!! I have to admit I have belonged to many drama classes and thespian groups, but never participated in musicals! Even though musicals are not forté, my favorite is “My Fair Lady!!” I love the role of Eliza Doolittle & as a child memorized every word from her mouth, even though she carried a Cockney accent!! I had fun trying to mimick her speech!! Such great memories…sitting right by my small record player, listening to her songs over and over again from the original sound track from “My Fair Lady!!” :)

Well, I’m getting carried away here…jerk me back to reality! We need Mary to provide a new post…something ‘concrete’ about the plans for the DH2010 would be great!! “All our dreams can come true – if we have the courage to pursue them.” :)

    DREAM BIG MY FRIENDS!! :)

  5. I think that the American Black Bear that MARY showed us a picture of a while back in the DH clue segment stole the Dream Cam to take some video of the young’uns back at the home cave, and will post them soon.

Those could make for some very interesting time-lapse photos of a different kind of dream home!

  7. Good evening everyone.
I was on vacation last week just chilling with the animals. I am wondering what surprises are in store for us to see with the web cam. I too think they may be doing foundation work and framing. Wow New Mexico. What a wonderful place to live the live of spectacular sun rises and sunsets. I know the no to low humidity would sure be a blessing for my arthritis and allergies. I have always loved the crafts and home styles. Good to see so many blogging buddys. Have a great evening everyone. Dream big.

  11. Dear bloggers: I guess we are all in agreement that the Dream Cam has been halted on June 2? What’s up with that? Does Mary have something new and wonderful to show us…soon? :)

  12. Good Afternoon! We have had a very two days already. I too am trying to figure out why the Dream Cam stopps at June 2. Anyone know why? I actually waved at all of you along with the production crew on Monday. In addition, I am still waiting for home plans as well and am eagerly awaiting their release. In the meantime thank you all for your support everyone has been so kind. The weather today is beautiful and I can see why each one of you loves the Dream Home! You may borrow sugar anytime! Ciao!

  13. I was also wondering why the dreamcam stopped at the 2nd as well as why the pictures are not in chronological order.
It would make a bit more sense- and we’d be able to get a better sense of the progress being made- if the pictures for each day were in order and they started at the beginning of construction and ran to the most recent picture.
To Cynthia: Hi, I was reading your post just above and I wanted to share this with you: I don’t think it’s so much a matter of humidity that affects allergies as it is location, indigenous plant life and what exactly you’re allergic to. I live in Colorado- very similar climate to northern NM- right between the foothills of the Rockies and the semi-arid plains of southeastern CO, very dry- and my allergies vary from year to year depending on what’s growing well that season due to how much rain/snow in the recent past. I recently took a trip to Seattle- very humid- and had no allergies whatsoever. It was wonderful. So you may not have allergies in NM, but it’s probably just because it’s somewhere other than where you live & with different plant life. (however, if it’s mold you’re allergic to, then yeah, the low humidity will help :) ) Have fun blogging and dreaming of the dream home! (I’ll be dreamin’ right along with you.)

  14. As of a moment ago the Dream Cam was still stuck. But I did enjoy the Video of Jack T’s announcement of the DH2010 location. He was in fine form and built the excitement until he said “San Pedro Overlook”. Wow, I love the cities near by. Full of fun, local culture, art, music and food. All that sun….love it. Still hoping for a pool, or maybe just a spa where you can submerge your body, or maybe just a fountain where you can dangle your feet. Thanks HGTV, you are the greatest!

  17. Did anybody else notice that US News rated Albuquerque the #1 best place to live in the U.S.A. this year. Sounds like HGTV picked a winner in New Mexico!!! :) :)

  18. i was just wondering how to check if you missed out on something you shouldent have

leanna on June 11, 2009 at 12:49 am
  19. Hey Ed: Yep!! According to U.S. News Media Group, Albuquerque came out on top for its mixture of scenic beauty, cultural diversity, and economic stability.

“Along the banks of the Rio Grande, with the Sandia Mountains in the background, is the beautiful city of Albuquerque, N.M. The sunny climate and endless landscape have long drawn writers, poets, and artists to this spot, which includes an unconventional mix of American Indian, Hispanic, and Anglo cultures,” according to the U.S. News and World Report article.

“But it's not just freethinkers who drift to this Southwestern city of 511,000. Kirtland Air Force Base, Sandia National Laboratories, and Intel Corp. have helped develop the area into a manufacturing and research hub. They provide a stable anchor for the local economy.”

The top ten list looks something like this: The top winner was Albuquerque, N.M. (1), followed by Auburn, Ala. (2), Austin, Texas (3), Boise, Idaho (4) Durham, N.C. (5), La Crosse, Wis. (6), Loveland, Colo. (7), San Luis Obispo, Calif. (8), St. Augustine, Fla. (9), and Upper St. Clair, Pa. (10).

How did our Jack T. know this? He is awesome! Thank you Jack & HGTV for the insight for building our next dream home in the Number One most desirable place to live!! How exciting, how Devine!!! :)

  20. Marie Miller: Thanks for agreeing with me that Jack T would make the perfect King. But me as Anna…..never. Even in my prime I couldn’t sing that role. I was a comedienne, playing leads like ” Dolly” and my favorite, Cleo in “Most Happy Fellow” among several others. Laughter from the audience was the music that filled my heart with happiness. I also couldn’t believe hearing “My Fair Lady” on record for the first time. The absolute cleverness of the lyrics and the perfect delivery. In our production I played several chorus parts, including the Queen of ???? and my lines were “Charming, Charming”.as I gazed at Eliza transformed into the lady she would become
I’m thinking this old lady has had it. When she says northwestern, when she meant southwestern, maybe it’s time to hang it up.
Coop: Too funny about the bears. You always make me laugh.
Sherry Hass: I”ve found that one of the ways to send food home with your departng guests in in freezer bags. The food, not the guests. Gottcha Coop.
Love you guys and love you HGTV. Go Wings!

Coop: Too funny about the bears.

  22. I’ve been to the development where this is being built. My parents looked at one of the pre-built houses. The land and the area are absolutely beautiful! I would love to live there someday. Very peaceful and because of the lot sizes, you don’t feel secluded and yet are close enough to your neighbors to enjoy their company. I can’t wait to see the floorplan.

  23. I’ve been lucky enough to live in 6 states: NY, NJ, MD, TX, CA, SC… I’ve only driven through New Mexico and it was way, way back in the early 80′s. What I remember are beautiful red rocks, and a totally uniquely beautiful landscape, I think I’m gonna have to work on living in Lucky 7: Albuquerque !

From one of the HGTV Super Fan Hopefuls…ready to get to work!

  25. Hey. Just did some catching up on reading this blog.

ED, my parents spent their honeymoon in a cabin on Munsel Lake. As a teen, had the opportunity to go out in a boat with a young man. LOL The bats were out; and let’s just say, the young man got quite a laugh out of my expressions. This IS beautiful country!

  27. I’m really excited to watch this house grow before my eyes. I only wish that we could look at the plans right now. Will there be solar panels to capture all that New Mexico sunshine? My husband is from that area and is such a pleasant change from Washington State.
