  2. I wasn't able to watch the video as it is not showing but I really appreciate the great work that Gail Fenton has put on! The birth state of investigative reporter Diane Dimond & Hanna-Barbera animator William Hanna is a great place to visit & live I'm sure!

  5. FYI…The Albuquerque Ballon Fiesta starts this Saturday, Oct 3 and runs thru Sunday, Oct. 11 !! If you'd like more info…you can check out the website at http://www.balloonfiesta.com . Really great photos from past events….sometimes they have 1,000 balloons. Also, check out the New Mexico Tourism website at http://www.newmexico.org. The 20th Annual Cowboy Symposium is coming up Oct. 9, 10, and 11 in Ruidoso, NM. I've always wanted to go to the Gila (pronounced hee-la) Cliff Dwellings National Monument near Silver City, NM

  6. Hi Gail: Soooooooooooo nice seeing and hearing from you again!! Albuquerque has so much to offer. It will takes months to experience all of it once the HGTV DH2010 winner moves into Santa Fe! I especially love the idea of the Balloon Fiesta. Nothing is move beautiful than a skyscape full of Hot Aired Balloons! I've had the opportunity to witness Reno, Nevada's, festival of Balloons & it was absolutely fabulous!!!

Question: There has been some talk about an outside water feature? Are there any plans for that? I think it would add beauty and mystery to the patio wall with a combination of planter and fountain. Maybe a stylish Etruscan Wall Fountain that features a grooved planter bowl and a wall-mount applique with carved detailing. A weathered terracotta would seem to blend nicely with our Publeo Palace?

  7. Becky: Thank you for the detailed itinerary for New Mexico!!

  8. Hi Jack: Thank you for the post regarding the Resessed Windows! I'm in love with the look & the function of the windows for the DH2010. However, I do have a question for Linda. How tricky will it be to dress these windows without cutting out precious natural light?

  9. Gail, thank you again for all of your wonderful reporting!! I think it would be great to have a Hot Air Balloon feature in the kid's room. Maybe a Hot air balloon lamp or an actual, retired balloon as a ceiling feature, similar to tenting. Can you imagine the child going in their room to sleep, play or read, while they feel as if they are floating in a Hot Air Balloon?! Cool! Also, there are great restaurants in Albuquerque …. My favorite is Stuffy's!! They serve stuffed sopapillas. My favorite is beans, lettuce, tomatoes and green chili! The original is located on 10th and Coal and another location is at 12th and Candelaria… I hope they are still there!!! They are delicious!!! Marie, what a wonderful idea regarding the water feature!! You are so creative. Yes, Becky, thank you for the detailed information!! Jack, are you going to try to use Green Features, where you can, knowing how important the environment is and from all you have learned over the year?? Like, solar panels, solar outdoor lighting, solar powered water feature (for Marie), water retention barrels. Linda, I am sure that you are going to use found items in the Dream Home…. you have always had somewhat of a "Green" mentality!!! Are you going to use more green fabrics?? Love life by living green!!

  10. Super Fan, you need to check your facts. White Sands National Monument isn't "right outside Albuquerque", it's about a 4 hour drive to the White Sands and it's difficult to do in one day…..

  11. Are you kidding me?! New Mexico!. I love, Love ,love, New Mexico! I can barely wait to see the finished home. What a great location. I've been out there a few times. We looked at homes out there. We want to move there in a BIG way. The sun, the sky, the high desert, with many, many, new things to smell, see and hear!. The open sky holds you and the wind talks to you.
I'd better stop or I'll just go right over the edge!

  12. Doris, actually it is a 3 1/2 hour drive and easily done in a day. We have had several photo shoots with our hotel in Albuquerque and head out to White Sands in the am and back in time for dinner, and we were driving a Motor Home (for the models to get ready in) and a 15 passenger van. And Gail, you are doing a great job getting information to us…. thank you for all you do. We really do all love you. Love life by living green!!

  13. Also, I listened to Gail's Vlog and she never stated a time schedule or distance for White Sands, she just reminded us that White Sands is outside of Albuquerque and remember the the Dream Home is 30 minutes from Albuquerque. So, I do not understand what facts she needs to check. I believe it to be a misunderstanding, perhaps. Thanks Doris for pointing it out though…. as you will need to plan that type of day trip out a head of time!!! Thank you Gail, OUR Super Fan!! Love life be living green!!
