Get Ready for the Virtual Tour

Good afternoon, bloggers,

I am so glad that you are all enjoying the information that I am discovering. I will keep digging to find more. You are all so curious about the master bedroom – it will not disappoint you (unless you don’t like spas, being romantic, taking in a spectacular view, sitting by the fire or nestling down under sumptuous bedding for a great night sleep etc.). And if for some reason you don’t like the master bedroom, you could probably take up residence in the master closet! (Believe me, there is room.) You know where you would find me? In that beautiful tub. I know, I know, I am still teasing you with this information, but December 14 will be here before you know it!

I think that Katydid had an excellent suggestion. (Thank you for the idea.) Where do you think this amazing piece of art is hanging?

Have fun guessing.

Your Super Fan,
Gail

  1. Don't forget to vote for the housewarming gifts for this magnificent Dream Home. If you can't imagine what I'd like, just ask! No shame in my game!!!

    • I would have missed this completely, with so much going on!

DBCoop on December 14, 2009 at 11:29 pm
      • Glad to help a fellow blogger! HGTV prepared a great feast for us.

Lessie on December 15, 2009 at 12:05 am
  2. Fellow bloggers, where are you? This feast is too great for one person. Please join me. Can't wait to read your responses.

What a great way to bring joy and happiness to others HGTV! I'm loving it!

    • Here we are, home, home on the range, where the deer and the cantalope play…

DBCoop on December 14, 2009 at 11:30 pm
      • I can tell! Enjoy the play!

Lessie on December 15, 2009 at 12:13 am
    • Forget Christmas presents…I'll take the Dream Home instead. No need to wrap it, just mail the keys, please!

DBCoop on December 14, 2009 at 11:31 pm
      • Wouldn't that be nice except…How would we occupy ourselves during January, February, and March? Think how hot the blog will be as time draws closer to reveal the winner.

Would you want to miss that?!!

Lessie on December 15, 2009 at 12:15 am
        • Of course not. I'd be glad to follow the comments from the comfort of my Dream Home armchair! However, I would feel compelled to invite disappointed bloggers for a Mariachi Marathon as compensation.

  3. How Awesome!!! I love the Boy's Room!!! My Son's favorite color is blue and he loves putting on a Play! I can just image the screen play he would put together to play a Cowboy.. (He would add his light saber in there somewhere) Beautiful. I love the Master… The Sunrise room is smaller than I imagined. Where is the water feature?? I didn't see it. I love that Linda added Southwest influence without being "Southwest themed". The quality is what I would expect of the outstanding Mrs. Linda, Mr. Jack and the HGTV crew! You did not disappoint. Thank you for not adding theater type sitting in the Theater room.. You made it cozy and stylish. I would love to cook daily in that kitchen!!! SO MANY items and rooms to discuss, but I have to run a few errands right now… I will check back in later after viewing the pics again!! So EXCITING!!!! The winner of the home will be blessed.. I even like the SUV included…. I love white cars, white clothing, white linens, white slipcovers… Not, great when you have a small dog and a 9 year old.. Love life by living green and having a dream!!! This is such an awesome dream!!

reneelovesgreen on December 14, 2009 at 5:39 pm
    • Would blue work for a little cowgirl as well?

DBCoop on December 14, 2009 at 11:32 pm
      • At the Ghost Ranch, the color of the walls didn't matter because the outdoor views were spectacular! (If my room had remotely resembled the bedrooms in the Dream Home, i don't think I would have returned home.)

As long as little cowgirls have what's important to them, room color won't make a difference.

Lessie on December 15, 2009 at 12:21 am
        • My thoughts exactly. However, I admit that this cowboy has no problem with any of the Dream Home colors except for the Casita, which requires a calmer touch.

DBCoop on December 15, 2009 at 1:09 am
          • I agree…. The Casita is a little too bold.. If you an extreme tiled wall, I would think that you take one of the lightest colors for the remaining walls… I think a light khaki would be great.. or a light turquoise …. Then it would definitely be a calm, soothing retreat!! And yes, blue would work for a Cowgirl too!! I am just dreaming that they built it for my Family…

  4. Does anyone remember the "Lost in Space" series? Right now I'm like the robot–"Overload, overload, overload!"

Will take a time out to vote on my housewarming gifts.

Lessie on December 14, 2009 at 5:43 pm
  5. Mary, can't believe the housewarming gifts are so great. Will have to vote at least ten times to make sure I didn't leave out anything. That's the problem with greed. When people have so many options, they don't know when to say enough—at least that's my problem.

Since it's an unresolved problem, might as well vote some more! Never know who my greed may help!

Lessie on December 14, 2009 at 5:56 pm
    • I'm fine with the ten votes, Lessie. I'm sure I can use every one of those great housewarming gifts.

DBCoop on December 14, 2009 at 11:34 pm
      • Coop, you have ten votes EVERY DAY! After I make sure i've voted for everything, I won't use the rest. ;)

Lessie on December 15, 2009 at 12:23 am
  6. The 360 tour is up with videos and photos as well.
the picture is in the office, and the small outside building is labeled "play house".

    dreamn_again on December 14, 2009 at 6:01 pm
  7. Linda W….you are one talented designer or should I say creator of space! Each year I'm super impressed. Awesome talent!!! You go girl!!!

Lessie on December 14, 2009 at 6:04 pm
    • With kudos to Jack T as well. I'm sure he had plenty of input.

DBCoop on December 14, 2009 at 11:35 pm
  8. I am not normally a fan of modern furniture but I must say the Dream Home is lovely. It looks very warm and inviting. I definitely could see myself living there. Now all I have to do is win the home and simultaneously win the lottery so I could afford to keep it. Congratulations to all involved in the 2010 project you have truly created a beautiful home.

susan on December 14, 2009 at 6:28 pm
  9. Wow, sensory overload doesn't begin to encompass my thoughts on this virtual tour reveal. Suffice to say, I'm not quite speechless, as I've plenty of yays (and a few nays) to share, but being as I, like Marie Miller, spent last evening entertaining friends at a sumptuous holiday dinner party, I'm moving a little slower than usual for this time of the day. However, I've got to get going, my excercise walk beckons, NOW, so I'll be back to read all of the news and views on this special Dream Home later today.

One quick comment before I head out—Linda Woodrum's visually welcoming, sensually warm, yet decidedly understated design of this stunning contemporary Pueblo home leaves no doubt that the views are everything in this home, and rightly so. At the same time, human comforts clearly take no back seat in this enchanting high desert villa.

Hi Ho Turquoise Trails, and Away!

DBCoop on December 14, 2009 at 6:33 pm
  10. My turquoise dream is fulfilled! What an awesomely decorated home. Clean and serene, with unexpected surprises every where. GREAT job, Linda and Jack. I was surprised by the adorable Dream Play Home and appreciated the info on the 10' steel Shaman Series petrograph by Ley Powell.
Lessie, if you can't put your overflow guests in the play home, how about the master closet with a window?
Couldn't find a water feature anywhere. Maybe it's the seagrass water garden on the accent table in the casita.
Spectacular job, inside and out. Thanks HGTV.

Katydid on December 14, 2009 at 6:35 pm
    • Katydid, invited overflow guests are no problem but uninvited overflow guests, no way! They may not want to leave once they're inside the home. The Casita is definitely out for them.

In fact, I think I'll get a cell phone. That way they won't know if I'm home or not! Now I see the advantages of a gated community. Thanks HGTV!

Lessie on December 14, 2009 at 7:23 pm
    • I think we need to continue searching (and lobbying, if necessary) for a water feature, Katydid. Even a modest fountain/waterfall would do, as long as the soothing sounds of water are near.

DBCoop on December 14, 2009 at 11:38 pm
  11. Did anyone happen to notice that the description under the Kid's Bedroom is the one for the Sunrise Room. Will have to check to see if the description for the Sunrise Room is for the Kid's Bedroom.

As far as I can tell, this is the only "mistake" I see. If this is a mistake, HGTV is batting 1000 minus 1. I'd say that's incredible.

Lessie on December 14, 2009 at 6:40 pm
  12. Love that outdoorsy feeling coming alive on the inside.
Lot of doors for all kinds of egress in all rooms of the home – at least 8?
A lot more room in bedrooms than I remembered with the floorplan
I'm surprised I like the lavendar and all around and on ceiling too
Just cannot get over the inspiring sensational desert views from inside
The hardscape, block pavers really steps up the landscape & garage area
Original American thru and thru painting was in the office after all
I was pretty sure this painting was going to show up in Casita
Very surprised with glass view into the bathroom enclosure in casita
The barn style doors seems to fit ok & like that the same is used thruout
Would want a spa/spool installed strategically outside morning room
Like the extra long coupled with function of the butlers pantry to hide all
Like the handles on cabinet, but not the cabinets style so much
Do love the refrigerator being so very well concealed & cabinet color
    The theater room is cozy

PFG on December 14, 2009 at 7:11 pm
  13. Very nice. Clean open spaces. Plenty of menudo & chilis in the recycle room for those after party hangovers. The rock columns are perfect abodes for the tarantulas & scorpions. I guess the cacti are the water feature. I wonder where they stored the table & chairs for the outside dining area in the motor court? My wife likes the painting! I guess she gets the office.

EdinOregon on December 14, 2009 at 7:57 pm
    • Well, you'll sure give Marie Miller plenty to think about with the comment about the rock columns serving as hideouts for various and sundry desert dwelling creatures!

DBCoop on December 14, 2009 at 11:40 pm
  14. Who else but Linda W. would think of including silver and turquoise jewely as part of the decor. Nice touch. Regarding those rice paper and twig lamps, they don't seem to show off well in front of the pale wall. I would try them in the office, switching them with the lamps on either side of Yellow Tail Vision. I just knew that painting would be in the office, but not on that wall. Surprises everywhere. Biggest surprise….no water feature!

Katydid on December 14, 2009 at 11:07 pm
    • Do I recall you mentioning a love of Turquoise jewelry, Katydid?

DBCoop on December 14, 2009 at 11:41 pm
  15. Mary, can you share when HGTV uploaded the 360 tour? If it was before we left you all the "it's Dec 14th and no tour" messages, please forgive us. If not, the wait was well worth it!

    Thanks!

Lessie on December 14, 2009 at 11:53 pm
  16. I am sitting here crying! If this isn't my husband and my dream house, I don't know what is. It has everything and more, especially the Native American decor. We have original NA peices we have collected throughout the years. WE WOULD NOT CHANGE ANYTHING IN THIS HOME SHOULD WE BE LUCKY ENOUGH TO WIN IT. IT IS ABSOLUTELY PERFECT! I wouldn't care where the picture is as long as it stays in the house. I can read so much in that art peice.

What an absolutely magnificant job! Thank you HGTV
P.S. My african sulcata (tortoise) would love living here!

  17. That painting is beautiful and all the pictures within it but I think the shadow across the nose is not another picture, if so I can't make it out. I think the colors really pop with the tan walls and thats a good spot for when sitting in the study.

    Terri1 on December 20, 2009 at 1:59 am
  18. With the incredibly intense color it would be fabulous in the entryway to the home office. It would certainly get a lot of attention. It is a magnificent work. The whole house is so in the spirit of its surroundings that it seems
    to belong there.

  19. I can't wait to move into my new Home!

Beverly Fann on December 26, 2009 at 8:32 pm
    • Will that be next year's? Because I'm pretty certain the 2010 is ours :-D .

      1homesweethome on January 1, 2010 at 12:50 am
  20. I am a resident of Arizona. My grandfather was native American. My husband is an award-winning Southwest artist, and the "painted Indian face" piece of artwork to which you refer – while popular with tourists- is referred to by many as the "KISS tribe" for obvious reasons. I'm sure the artist (be they native american or other) thought they were making a statement by exchewing traditional tribal paint for that of the American flag, and also making the subject blue-eyed.
Although I love the house….this would be the first piece to go to the garage. Maybe Gene Simmons would buy it.

Sheryl on January 3, 2010 at 12:36 am
  21. I have known since day one that it is in the home office

jeanie white on January 13, 2010 at 3:37 pm
  24. it's hanging in the home office, i know i would'nt get much work done in there because i would be staring at it all the. i think this painting is awesome!! and i also think that all the artwork in the home is done by local artists. very very cool…..

lisamae on January 15, 2010 at 5:36 am
  25. I believe this painting is hanging in the office! Do I win a prize? It is a great painting by the way. This was done by a local artist. Right?

Mayra on January 16, 2010 at 12:07 am
  26. My first thought was the casita but the deep blues in the painting might be too much for the turquoise in the room. I would like to see it in the sitting room over the fireplace where you can see it and look out the windows thinking about the Native Americans who nurtured the land the HGTV Dream Home and turquoise trail is all about. I know this is where I would like to see it because I love Indian art reminding me of my ancestors.

I dream of winning the HGTV Dream home where I can entertain my grandchildren who love to come to the balloon festival. Also to have a stopping point for my parents who are on the road in their RV where they can stop off and have a place to plant their feel and enjoy hiking and biking with us. My Mother was born not too far from where the HGTV Dream Home is so it would be a real treat for them to call it their resting point traveling from east coast to west coast visiting their kids, grandkids and great-grandkids.

We love the mountains and New Mexico. This is the perfect time in our life to make a move while I finish my last semester in school I am looking for work and our business can relocate to New Mexico while re-instate our license in New Mexico. It could not be a better time to start our new life in a new home that we have dreamed about to be our 2nd home. We can have it as our primary home and when work is done it becomes our 2nd home too while we explore the turquoise trail.

  27. The bed has a comfort look that could only shake off all the stress of the day. But first a glass of Merlot, Berringer 2005, and some good conversation by the fireplace with your special person and some big throw pillows to cozy up to. Now the hot shower beckons with Ahava honeysuckle & lavender body wash from Israel to sooth and relax the skin with a lasting fragrance. For the "finishing touch," a foot message before retiring…….

  28. This house, location and everthing about it, is my Dream House.

Suzie on January 18, 2010 at 10:47 am
  29. Wow, that's such a beautiful piece of artwork!

Kaitlin on January 18, 2010 at 10:18 pm
  30. I see the errors of my ways. I believe the Home Office is the best location. Since we work from home I could appreciate the painting most of the day. The eyes tell a story and I believe they are sad eyes with the first thing that comes to mind is the trail of tears that lead many Indians to the west, including my ancestors. I believe everything and the colors have deep meaning to the artist. I would like to dine with the artist so I can hear the stories that led to painting this beautiful piece of art. If I am the winner of the HGTV Dream Home this painting will stay right where it is, NOT buried in a closet like some want to do. If one of the potential winners come out on the winning side and no longer want the painting please send it to me. : )

Stacy on January 18, 2010 at 11:17 pm
  31. What is the prize "HGTV Dream Play Home" comprised of. Is this a certain room in the house? Or a separate prize from the house altogether?

    Ken D. on January 21, 2010 at 6:53 pm
    • The play home a small separate building in the back of the dream home near the grill area. If you watch the television presentation about the dream home they show it clearly enough.

      dreamn_again on January 22, 2010 at 6:25 pm
  32. Hello! I personally would put this magnificent painting in the Great room. It is so the essence of the area…I LOVE it!!!
New Mexico is sacred land to me, I live in southern NM, but all my friends and extended family are in Albuquerque and Sante fe…I would feel so connected there, and I am READY to move! It is a perfect Dream!

Deborah Van Der Leelie on January 22, 2010 at 7:44 pm
  33. Ok- so the magnificent painting is in the Home Office…it looks great there! With light and open spaces on either side, and door colors- it perfect!

  36. This painting is in the greatroom because of the light refracting off of it would give the person an
indeph look at the rich texture and amazing long hours put into each stroke of the artists brush.
Makes a powerfull statement anywhere it is.
    Wonderfull.
Did I mention it looks just like my great, great, great, grandfather Chief Weatherford and a bit like General Ira Eaker.
