Get Ready for the Virtual Tour
Good afternoon, bloggers,
I am so glad that you are all enjoying the information that I am discovering. I will keep digging to find more. You are all so curious about the master bedroom – it will not disappoint you (unless you don’t like spas, being romantic, taking in a spectacular view, sitting by the fire or nestling down under sumptuous bedding for a great night sleep etc.). And if for some reason you don’t like the master bedroom, you could probably take up residence in the master closet! (Believe me, there is room.) You know where you would find me? In that beautiful tub. I know, I know, I am still teasing you with this information, but December 14 will be here before you know it!
I think that Katydid had an excellent suggestion. (Thank you for the idea.) Where do you think this amazing piece of art is hanging?
Have fun guessing.
Your Super Fan,
Gail

I hope it's hanging in a closet somewhere. I don't care for it.
Just think, Ed, in only 21 days you can start entering to win this artwork—along with the Dream Home and $500,000. That's assuming you can get past the heavy burden of a 50% tax rate. I'm willing to make the sacrifice for you, and send in my entries anyway.
Maybe next year HGTV will honor you with the choice of a San Diego Dream Home location, and you can move back closer to Dudley's Santa Ysabel Bakery for bread runs! I know it well.
Embracing…Original American through and through
I can understand your view, but I don't think it belongs in a closet either way.
Let it be, as there is difficult horizons for the Dream Home with legal wranglings now. So it may be just the money offered again as with the Dream Cabin.
The rusty red color reminds me of the casita wall. Could that be where it is hanging? The mouth of the person in the drawing reminds me of my grandfather who was part Cherokee. But Grandfather's mouth had a smile to it and his eyes were less tense.
I see a very youthful person here with soft undertones. I do not see tense. I see someone with eyes wide open not the color giving way to more than it could. This painting has grown on me quite a bit. Yes, agreed as I wrote early this am that it should go in the casita perfectly with giving balance to glass tiles walls with red walls. The two windows on the casita match the two eyes that will be expressed from another wall if as large as someone stated at 48 X48. It would be a viewing to behold
Maybe the entry-foyer, or maybe the great room or dining room. Or could be the casita. But could be, I have no ideal. Can't wait to see what Katydid comes up with. She is our expert on colors. Where would you put this magificent piece of art. Just two more days to go and we will all know. Come on Coop, Marie, Renee, and all the rest -take a shot. Where would you put it? I'LL bet Gail has a blast watching us rack our brains and knowing all along where its stationed at. This is a lot of fun. Subject change-are there any pictures of the finished green home. I would like to see the outside to get a full picture of what it looks like, not just the rendering. Let me know if anyone knows. Thanks. Sweet Dreamin to all.
Nanaporch, Mary made new post yesterday on the Green Home site. It even has pictures! You're going to love it.
foyer or casita
I thnk its in the livingroom area. It looks great, as a conversation piece. The colors are great. They remind me of an American flag.
It looks very intense. I think it is in the casita. I don't think I would keep it if I won the DH.
Sorry, I meant LYNN, she is our color expert. There are so many talented people on this blog. Forgive me Lynn. Katydid is an information expert. Still dreamin.
A GIANT HELLO to all of my blogging friends! Personally, I think this painting is stunning and although I do NOT know where this 48" x 48" canvas will be placed in the Dream Home, I have been researching and researching this…I DO have information I want to share with each of you…I hope Mary, Gail and HGTV don't mind!
The painting above is "Yellow Tail Vision" by artist Farrell Cockrum. It was purchased by HGTV at The Blackbird Gallery in Albuquerque.
(continued)
I'm glad you liked the painting! My husband and I own the Blackbird Gallery and were thrilled to have this painting selected to hang in the office of the 2010 HGTV Dream Home.
A Vision is a perfect name for this wonderfull art work THANK YOU LYNN!!
I will stop into that Gallery next time I am in Albuqureque for sure.
I would not change a thing in this home would you?
Everything just fits.
Well just thought I would share my thoughts a bit.
(continued)
Here is additional info….
"What a surprise it was when the interior design staff from HGTV arrived in our gallery this month looking for original art for the 2010 HGTV Dream Home. The popular cable TV channel’s annual dream home giveaway is one of the most highly anticipated and highly rated events on cable television. The 2010 Dream Home is being completed now in Sandia Park, New Mexico, about 60 miles east of Albuquerque in the foothills of the beautiful Sandia Mountains. The 3900 sq.ft. home will be featuring the very best of New Mexican original art work, including our own featured artist Farrell Cockrum.
The staff designer purchased his stunning acrylic on canvas piece “Yellow Tail Vision” which will be featured prominently in the Dream Home."
(continued)
Wonder what the Gallery and Artist think of the commentary regarding the artwork. I'm sure they've heard it all—and besides, art appreciation is highly individual, as it should be.
(continued)
But where is it placed in the Dream Home…hmmm…let me invistigate a bit more…in the meantime, more info…
"The 48”x48” painting is also available in limited edition giclee’ format from our Old Town gallery in a variety of sizes, ranging from 18”x18” up to the originals size of 48”x48”. Each piece is hand-signed by the artist. Contact the gallery for a price quote."
Congratulations to Farrell Cockrum on his selection to be a featured artist in the 2010 HGTV Dream Home!
Do I win a copy of this painting for 'good sleuthing'????? LOL!
Living the Dream!
Lynn, you are one of the best sleuths I know! Great researching! How do you get all these details? No, I don't need to know, just keep the info coming!
My Guess???? From where the three piece horse was placed last year, I would take a wild guess that it would be above the dining room table to make a huge statement…..but only HGTV knows for sure!?
Living the Dream!
Okay wow you are good! Just google Farrell Cockrum and there is all his work……..Better watch out Mary…………Lynn could be the next Super Fan!!! Just kidding, your great 2!
ed in oregon, I'm with you. Closet or garage would be my vote. Wouldn't it be funny if they put it in the kid's bedroom. Your kids would never let you turn out the lights, ha ha ha
The dream warrior should either greet visitors as they enter the dream home or watch over the kids in their bedroom at night and scare away any evil spirits…
I think that painting is striking and gorgeous. Looking at it makes me think of that Langston Hughes poem, "I, too, Sing America". What a great piece for contemplation and conversation.
I'm thinking this piece might be in the living room. I would 2nd guess they dining room, but I don't think it fits with the other colors I can see in there (I"m thinking of the picture looking in from the motorcourt.)
I think it's a bold choice, and certainly not for everyone. I love it.
Thanks Gail for taking my suggestion and providing us a look at a piece of art work and guessing its location in the Dream Home. Lynn, great job at finding the title and artist. It's a bit serious for my taste, but haunting none the less. 48"x48" is quite large and will certainly make a statement where ever it is displayed. I'm guessing the office, as if he's saying "get your work done or you can't go out and play".
Brilliant deduction, Katydid. You were right on the money!
I think he's saying, "ouch, there's buffalo on my forehead." Could be a female, there's a certain look of vulnerability and softness to the eyes.
One likely spot would be above the fireplace in the Foyer/Lounge sitting area. That would certainly be a focal point for anyone entering the Dream Home.
However, I'm such a traditionalist when it comes to art, so my preference for that hearth wall would be a dramatic Southwest landscape.
EdinOregon, from your comment, I take it the painting is not quite your style either.
Coop you definitely have astute powers of observation. You picked up on my subtle comment perfectly! I am not a fan of portraitures in any style, However I do agree with you on the other Mr. Cockrum's paintings.
As a celebration of the Blackfeet Nation, Mr. Cockrum's paintings are decidedly powerful and evocative, regardless of one's taste in art. However, I don't have a strong appreciation for portraiture, no matter the subject. Having said that, there ARE three of Farrell Cockrum's paintings I find intriguing: Winter Above Taos, Heaven on Horseback, and Sanctuary II. All would be perfectly appropriate for the Dream Home (in my opinion), and Sanctuary II's brilliant turquoise, but one of its many rich colors, would be a standout hanging above the hearth of the Dream Home Foyer Sitting Area.
However, I'll hold off buying that piece of art until after the Dream Home winner's name is announced, just in case I fail to draw Show Me's name from the hatfull of entries.
Finally found the three pieces of Farrell's art that you mentioned! He paints eyes exceptionally well. He's good, very good.
I like this painting, the vivid blues and red, give it a mystic kind of quality…I think it's in the main hall way, or family room
Thanks Lynn for the info on the artist, and Coop I agree with your choices of Sanctuary II, beautiful colors, almost like a Jackson Pollack , and Heaven on Horseback is like a Monet, both would fit beautifully in this home.
I think I'll still go with "Sanctuary II" for the Dream Home, although the painting does make a strong statement in the office.
My taste definitely runs more towards Pollack or Monet.
Well, let's see. Four feet by four feet is pretty big. It would have to be hanging on a large wall in a large room or it would be too over-whelming. My guess is that it's in the dining room. I like it. It may not appeal to other's, but I like it. I am one eighth cherokee and I would be proud to have this hanging in a prominent place in my home.
Just think Shoejunkie, you might be the proud owner of this home! What a great gift to pass to your children.
I'm looking forward to finding out more about that larger than life Native American outdoor sculpture.
Soon to be revealed, I'm sure.
Happy Turquoise Trails and Winter Wonderlands!
I'm with you Coop. That's the piece I really want to know more about!
Coincidentally, on the subject of Native American culture, I just received a well recommended biography to read; "Fire Light", The Life of Angel De Cora, Winnebago Artist, by Linda M Waggoner. Angel De Cora was a popular artist, illustrator, designer, and teacher who lived from 1869 to 1919. She was one of the first Native Americans to successfully cross the cultural divide and become a celebrated and accepted member within the mainstream art world.
Anyway, I'm looking forward to an enlightening and enjoyable read. It's well worth putting on your Christmas list, or just buying for yourself!
By the way, I've been accused of being a fifth Scotch, but I think the comment had more to do with what I was drinking at the time than a guess at my national origins….
A fifth Scoth?!!! You're too funny Coop.
I love it! I think casita to blend in with the rich red tones. I love how the artist mixed the red white and blue in with the native heritage. Amazing artwork. These last few days are excrutiating.
Gail, what a striking peace of art! Let me enlarge the piece and examine it more before I give my answer.
Does the tomahawk idea strike a chord? I haven't attempted to enlarge the photo yet.
The buffalo, the horse and rider, the chief's eyes, and the red and white strips highlighted by blue speak volumes to my soul. The depth of the eyes alone shames me when I think about native American history. If one picture does this, I can't imagine the impact of the other art pieces.
Where would I place such a soul-stirring piece? In the foyer. Couldn't ask for a better conversation piece.
That artwork could certainly stir up some conversation. Let's hope it doesn't get too heated. After all, that's what the fireplace is for…
Coop, after reading your post, I wanted to know more about Farrell, so: Blackfoot Nation
Farrell Cockrum “See-It-Tan” (Front Saddle) was born in the early 1960’s. On Behalf of the Big Sky Country, home of the Native American Indian. As a member of the Blackfoot Nation, Farrell’s family passed down the heritage of their people to him. Farrell adds this heritage to his art work, and has been making his art for over 20 years. He was inspired to become an artist by his family who continued to encourage, support, and challenge him to continue his gift of creativity.
Farrell specializes in handmade contemporary clay sculptures such as, horses, bears, storytellers, and Native American people. He accents his masterpieces with traditional clothing made from clay and uses many different accessories to give his masterpieces a unique flare. As only Farrell can he adds a unique caricature and colorfulness to his sculptures.
Farrell paints on traditional canvas as well as hand making his sculptures.
Clay sculptures? I'll have to keep an eye out for a black bear piece of art.
Coop, check out this link: http://www.material-insight.com/IndianArt/PeopleP… Some of Farrell's clay sculptures are shown.
I'm sure you'll find a black bear piece of art or you can commission Farrell to create it for you.

cont'd
Farrell Cockrum is a contemporary Native American artist, of the Blackfeet Nation, currently residing in New Mexico. Born and raised on the Blackfeet Reservation in Northern Montana, he has been deeply committed from childhood, both to his people and his work.
In Santa Fe, Farrell was inspired by countless new influences and his considerable talents blossomed. The result is his work is as innovative as it is purely native American. In time, Farrell’s work would change and become more aggressive, and color and more color would become his muse. As an alumnus of Santa Fe’s Institute of American Indian Arts, Farrell chose to remain in New Mexico for its continuing inspiration and renewing beauty.
Admirable that Cockrum remains true to his Native American Blackfeet Nation heritage. In California, many of the tribes are equally faithful to old traditions, such as casinos. I know many of them quite well…
It's way past my bedtime. Be back tomorrow.
Embracing…Original American through and through
I surmise it will be placed idyllically in the Casita. Remember the blood burgundy looking walls? This painting colors will harmonize exceptionally with the dark red walls and bring the lighter colors out of the painting. Then this painting will be another ultimate focal point to the Southwest and be the focus with it's large size to balance out the sheen and vibrant colorful glass tiles in the Casita. The needed balance that this room vastly needed to add much more drama and this is stunning, overwhelming, and comforting. It's our history as it is.
Got a peek at the inside of the Dream Home (from a message board member's post) and my goodness…IT IS GORGEOUS!!!!!
Lovelykitty, please tell me how to get to the message boards again? Can you also tell me who posted the message?
Those folks over on the message board are having all the fun! What's with that?
The bad part Coop is that they keep it to themselves! They feast until they're full and then share. You're right! What's with that? And I thought LovelyKitty liked us. What if one of us wins the home? Do you think she'd share sooner if we told her she could spend a week in the Dream Home?
Hi Lessie, and Coop…LK may have referred to the photos I or velvet350 posted, but these are from HGTVpro site, that Gail and Mary told us about…for some reason some of the message board members are rather hostile to the blog, but most people on the board are very nice. I share any info I can with everyone whether it's information I get from the blog or message board p.s. to get to the message board go to the lower left hand corner on this page and click on message board, you'll see the green home and dream home at the top
Sheila, I'm glad you're a member of the message board. So is Lynn Coggin. Once they see how great you guys are, hopefully they will be more accepting of bloggers.
Thanks for sharing.
HGTV Dream Home Spawns Lawsuits: On 11th Dec 2009, Mark Roccaforte, builder placed a lien on this DH for $310,000 for his unpaid balance he finds due to him from Scripps/HGTV. Another legal wrangling once again, similiar or just like the Dream Cabin.
~Shocked to find out HGTV bought this 3 acre lot for $500,000.
~Article is posted by Portfolio.com, Steve Ginsberg, called: Dream Turns Nightmare. Article highlights the situation quite vividly and puts very negative feelings for the good things being provided.
Contractors scam like crazy and clients scam like crazy as well. If builders come in on time and on target you pay for those milestones. If disagreements you had better know what your doing. A Lien is a LEGAL lien and puts any house on HOLD, or car, building. Always, always must have contract. Builder has loophole with this project with media and publicity. Such a shame with all the publicity they did not have contracts signed. The builder and Scripps/HGTV personnel are responsible for this mess as you cannot have one without the other.
Thanks for the website info PFG. The 2010 Dream Home is GORGEOUS!!! Can't wait to see the 360 tour.
I love it. I think it'd look great in either the foyer, the great room, or the office. Definitely a conversation piece. I'm with DBCoop though, I want to hear more about the sculpture in the yard…
In my mind, either they get ahold of what they are doing or this is putting an end to these types of Dream Homes.. Who will have faith, believe, and will start to view this process as a marketing scam, for all who participate for them.
A CONTRACT is the leavening to any project for BOTH parties and not to sign it or have one in place is completely ignorant for both parties. The builder needed and wanted the work. He started, but he carries the largest creditability here. The client Scripps/developer wanted all benefits and not signing or pursuing it to be signed makes it as trying to not pay for what is due to builder. Extremely difficult to prove any disagreements and they fall to the builder. Their is video's that state his production on his behalf. You cannot make agreements abnicio after entered into them, as builder will be proving as false with simply the house stands done and early. All is in jeopardy since any expectations not delivered on any party is an disagreement and always must be remedied ASAP. This is business, not your buddy.
PFG, I guess I incorrectly read the portfolio.com article. I thought the suit was basically between Mark and San Pedro Overlook’s developer Campbell Corp but was extended to Scripps Network. Personally I didn't find fault with Scripps, but then I'm not a lawyer.
Acoring to the article, "Roccaforte said he sent three contracts to Robert Gately, CEO of Campbell Corp., who never signed them, and started the work with an oral contract. Roccaforte’s attorney, Karl Sommer, said oral contracts are valid in New Mexico and filed a breach of contract lawsuit to enforce it." Therefore I assume this issue will be resolved before March 15th.
It's up to the clients to meet the lien placed against the property. The builder identified all possible parties in this lawsuit and justly should. Will it be met or will it not? Lots of depositions will have to be taken and it all takes lots of time with work schedules and it all parties have precedence to resolve lien issue.
PFG, that's over my head and I don't want the hassle! All I know is that HGTV is a reputable company and will honor their commitment to give away this home.
Please read Coop's comment.
You are right on target, Lessie. The legal issue is clearly between the builder, Mark Roccaforte, and the developer, Campbell Ranch. As a vested party, Scripps Network will naturally be named in the lawsuit for technical reasons, although they appear (from the news comments) to be outside of the contractural default as claimed by Mark Roccaforte against the developer. It is unfortunate for HGTV that such a legal entanglement may generate some negative publicity about the Dream Home, but I can't see this kind of dispute between builder and developer as a deterrent to the success of the 2010 Dream Home sweepstakes, or future Dream Homes.
More than anything, it appears related to the general economic malaise that has slammed the housing and construction industry. I bet that Scripps Networks will move past this bump in the Turquoise Trail with alacrity and aplomb. The dreams of millions of HGTV sweepstake winner hopefuls will continue unblemished and undiminished, while the legal beagles resolve the loose threads.
The Sun shines bright as ever at 87 Turquoise Drive, with so much more exciting news and views on the horizon. Bring it on, MARY!
Lliving in this home surrounded by the natural beauty of this historical area would be a dream come true for an artist. I can only imagine how peaceful it would be to live in this home. I love everything! Good work HGTV Family! You've really created a master piece!
I'd have to say Scripps & Developer don't want to, but need to put this lien against the house to rest so it can be given away next year for 2010. It's on hold until matter is resolved and cannot pass Escrow, title certification with lien charged against home.
I think they might clear it soon, as we all have witnessed builder doing good works, but again we are not privy to agreements, but there is no contract. They need this house to be given away badly, they need creditability for this effort. 14 Dec 2009 is the national broadcasting of the unveiling so home will it be disclosed.
The bottom line is they want this house out of HOLD so it can be given away. It sells the materials used and the latter does not.
What do you think will happen? Do you think they will work it out?
I belive in the basic good in all people, so maybe this is just a misunderstanding. I would hate for them to have to call in Mike Holmes of Home on Holmes because it wasn't finished correctly. As Mike says 'Do it right the first time.' Hopefully this is just a case of not paying in a timely manner, or price.
Yes, this is what happens when there is no contract to hold down unforeseen costs that are stipulated in a contract. It would not happen, but happens everytime in industry and businesses with someone's unmet expectation.
Simply stated: "What were they thinking"?…
According to the article, "The liens are not likely to stop the show, although Campbell agreed to deliver a lien-free project to HGTV when the deal was announced earlier this year. HGTV could place a bond over the lien to allow the home to be given away."
I'm expecting the issue will be resolved way before the winner annouced.
I expect so too. Especially, when this is twice now it has occurred Scripps/HGTV you would think they want to get clear of this soon or there is more to the story then written and disclosed yet as most there is?
Now, with the first project they did not. So it's a 50/50 shot as I have no idea other than that guesstimate possible.
If not immediately resolved between builder and developer, Scripps Network, as stated in the article, could patch the problem for the time being with a bond over the lien, exactly as the quote from the article in Lessie's comment points out.
Regardless, my attention remains on the rising excitement over the upcoming Dream Home reveal. The legal wrangling is not of interest to me.
Yes, the intense outstanding Dream Home package will be hopefully as discussed for sometime.
So, are you home for the Holidays or are you going somewhere else once again?
I got a post back from C&E I believe that she will have to get her passport renewed. Did not say if going, but maybe with your good descriptions of the Azores it pushed her to make the decision on going for a visit? I liked that it's not a well traveled destination and my visits have always been good, but one was particuliarly windy.
Actually, I'll be checking into a Palm Springs Resort for the New Year's weekend, and can hopefully avoid leaving behind too much money in the Indian casinos!
I do have a couple of parties to attend, and plenty of activity to keep me out of serious trouble (I hope!)
I'll try once again (I'm always amazed when one of my simple comments inexplicably gets sent to the moderation corner.)
As I stated in my previous post, I'll be checking into a Palm Springs Resort over the New Year's weekend.
Katydid: Isn't it wonderful to have your suggestion come alive with the Blackfeet Nation's Mr. Cockrum's painting? I think it gives us a sneak preview of what our beloved DH2010 will hold! As far as where it will be hung, I think the colors depict a special place of vivid colors & rich textures, and once again will agree with Coop, above the hearth in the Foyer Sitting Area would be totally appropriate. It will have tremendous impact no matter where it is hung! And, being part Cherokee (yes, Chief Sitting Bull was my great, great grandfather), I would love to see Farrell Cockrum's 'Old Chief V' painting somewhere to behold!!! Thank you Gail for an invigorating look of the future decor of the DH2010, and thank you Katydid for the suggestion!! "How" my friends!!" ("Holding up your hand in a sign of greeting like the ancient Indian tradition demonstrates to those you do not know
that you have no weapon and mean no ill will.")
Marie, thanks for sharing the "holding up your hand" fact. Can't believe your great, great grandfather was Chief Sitting Bull. You have a great blood line.
"How!" nice to have you back in the blogosphere, Marie.
Regards from Chief Shooting Pool, aka DBCoop.
Being in the DH2010 this coming year will give way to the best views of Meteor showers and plenty of other space-related phenomena capturing cyberspace imagination this year!! If you love watching the sky, don’t miss out on the following natural shows:
Annular solar eclipse—just a partial (January 26)
Annular solar eclipse—just a partial (January 26)
Poor little Mars rover Spirit gets stuck (April 23…and still spinning its wheels)
Hubble Space Telescope, repaired (May 18)
Six crew members emerge from isolation on a fake spacecraft (July 14)
Remembering the first step: Apollo mission's 40th anniversary (July 20)
Solar eclipse spurs parties and prayers (July 22)

Pool party! There's water on the moon (November 13)
Leonids light up the sky (November 17)
Hopefully there won't be any showers for the pool party at the Dream Home Santa Fe Soiree!
I am not very art-wise. But I will say that I really like this painting!
Thank you Gail for the "hints"! We now know for certain that the 2nd fireplace is somewhere in the Master Suite. I for one am thrilled, that will indeed be a "DREAM" space!
PFG, thank you for sharing your research, we are all so anxiously awaiting the reveal of the 2010 DH, and all hoping that any problems will be worked out between the primaries. Let's hope it is advantageous to all that any issues be resolved and that this time the lucky winner will indeed be able to chose for themselves to either keep or sell this gorgeous new home. In any case I'm sure fair compensation will be given to the winner, just as was done in the case of the Blog Home. And Gail, I agree that dramatic painting can only be going in the Casita, colors are right and a statement element is needed to balance the tile wall.
Agreed, if you want to see the Master bedroom take a look at the article as detailed in earlier post
Thanks PFG, I in fact did read the article and share your concerns, especially after the disappointing conclusion to the Blog cabin. I'm just optimistically hoping HGTV can somehow work this one out. All of we bloggers enjoy watching the construction, of the various homes so very much it will be very anticlimactic if this happens again. I do think another failure could put an end to giveaways like this in the future. That would be a terrible shame as in todays economy many of us appreciate a "Dream" to help get through the tough times!
Yes, that is what I blogged about today too. It puts this whole process to scrutiny. Agree, to that another failure will lead to endorsers pulling out and it is a definite shame when performance is vital as so public. Happy Holidays To You
SID, I didn't follow the blog cabin this year. Why was there a disappointing conclusion?
Due to legal disputes, the winner of the Blog Cabin was instead given a cash equivalent award.
And the problem is…? Sounds like the winners got a great deal! Good for them.
HGTV is honorable! Why should we expect less?
I embrace the spirit in this painting and the essence it brings to the HGTV Dream Home. I love it!
Amber, what spirit are you embracing in this painting? What essence is the artwork bringing to the Dream Home? Have you seen the photo of the Master Bedroom and bath on portfolio.com? I see the painting as enhancing the beauty of the home.
We'll know for sure on Monday after viewing the 360 tour.
Lessie, weren't you at the Ghost Ranch recently? I noticed this bit of interesting news (to me, anyway) and thought I'd share it with you:
Researchers have unveiled a new species of dinosaur from the late Triassic period – a small, early relative of T.rex and Velociraptor.
The 2m-long dinosaur, named Tawa hallae, was found in a "bone bed" on the Ghost Ranch in New Mexico, US.
Good thing for you these little fellows went extinct a few years ago. I think I'd rather confront a black bear than one of these hungry "small" velociraptors.
Happy Turquoise Trails, sans the T. Rex!
Thanks for the info Coop. The rock formations are spectacular! I can envision dinosaurs there. Aliens too. The Ghost Ranch is one of the most beautiful places I've seen.
No chance a couple of these T. Rex relics are currently running around wild in the Sandia Park area, is there? Have there been any sightings recently, Mr Rojas? Did Linda W or Jack T notice any unusually large footprints around the Dream Home? GAIL, can you check into this for us?
ooo. Thanks for posting this – My favorite Dream Home thus far has been the Winter Park home. I fell in love with the warrior painting in the office. Happy to see another showing up here. Where could it be? I would put a piece like this in my office.
Good call, and indeed, the office is where HGTV has placed the painting.
Thanks PFG for that site suggestion, there is indeed a good photo of the MBedroom and sliding doors to the bath. Now we can see for ourselves what's between the tub and bedroom. And because Gail mentioned a fireplace as part of the enjoyment in the Master Suite, we now also know that the 2nd fireplace is between the M.Bedroom and Sunrise room. I for one am anxiously anticipating the virtual tour on the 14th!
OOPS! I thanked Gail for those clues when I meant to say Mary. To bad I can type faster than I can think – must be loosing my mind from so much "Dreamin' "
I just heard that there is a lien against the house and Robert Gately is being sued. 500K in payments not made. Does this jeopardize the giveaway???
No, it doesn't Lisa. The winner will receive a lien-free home.
Lisa, just a couple of months ago the Blog home (a subsidary of HGTV) giveaway developed what seemed to be similar issues. HGTV I think settled the issue fairly, although they were not able to award the home as a prize they gave the winner it's value in cash. I'm sure they will stand behind this home as well.
My guess is the office b/c they have done a similar painting to that in the office in the past. I love that the area has such a strong native american root b/c as an alaskan native I see the importance of remembrence and practice of these cultures.
Okay, I am not even going to try and guess because HGTV always surprises us. I am just excited that the virtual tour is in a few more days and that they updated the Green Home site!!! I have to run as we are partying on the deck for the Boat Christmas Parade!! I will toast you each a Bahama Mama and will check in later tomorrow after a much needed sleep in day!!! Love life by living green and having a dream!!!
A Boat Christmas Parade?! How lucky—that's one of my favorite holiday events in San Diego. Would you believe they're having it TWICE this year:
Sunday, December 13, 2009:
Fireworks begin at 5:30pm
Light Parade begins immediately following fireworks
