This is a very minor question but I am wondering why an entrant's date of birth is asked for on mail-in entries but not on online entries…..no big deal but just curious.
I can definitely see me and my family in this home, especially putting those washer and dryers to good use, because i just had a baby and i dont have a washer at home so i have to wash all his clothes by hand, that can be very tiring, so that washer and dryer would do good justice for me.
Excitement hardly describes what I feel as the HGTV Dream Home Sweepstakes draws to an end. Like everyone I am wishing to win this wonderful home. In 1980 my late husband and I moved to Arizona to be close to our children and immediately fell in love with the Southwest.
I still live in Arizona but since my daughter moved back to Ohio I would love to move to New Mexico to be with my Grandson and his beautiful wife and my Great grand sons. I have enjoyed the blogs.
I agree with ALL of you….this house is JUST AMAZING and the Location is even better!!! The hardest part is…SOOOO many people deserve this great place… Even if we did "win" this house…it would be hard to not feel guilty about everybody else! Good Luck to everybody…I'm sure whomever wins this house…they will Love it just as much as the next person!
Wow… Two laundry rooms! OMG I think I"d have to teach the boys to do their own! Their very own laundry room… A dream come true! It doesn't show in the home tour so it was an added surprise!
You guys are awesome!!!
My wife & I love to do laundry & this would make it even more enjoyable! A dream laundry area would be perfect for us. We have a great family that would enjoy visiting us on numerous occasions & having this laundry room would be ideal. Our prayers are still being said for the win!
This just adds to everything convenient in the home. I could throw some laundry in and get back to my writing with so many views to spark the imagination!
I love the single story ranch style. I never see Handicap mentioned in any of the design. My husband and myself need 16" high toilets because the others are to low and need handrails by the toilet and in the shower and tubs areas. We also need room to get our 4 wheeled seating walkers around when cooking, etc. It would also be nice to have a sunroom with exercise equipment and an endless pool 10X12 for water exercises in the sunroom, out of the elements. Judy
I love the house, except it really needs a half bath near the back yard area…..I'm too old to run clear to the front of the house. Plus, we're used to throwing parties for 40 to 60 people….there just aren't enough bathrooms. And the casita…although it is drop dead gorgeous, I wouldn't stay in it and neither would most of my friends and family….a bathroom should be private.Who wants to look over and see someone sitting on the toilet???? Of course my grandsons, especially the 8 year old, would love to have that kid's bedroom and everything in it. And I agree with others that a TV should be in the great room…how are 10 to 20 people going to watch football in the media room???
This room would be great for us…..3 kids, my mom (a permanent visitor), a dog, and my fience can create quite a load of laundry, I could sure make good use of duel laundry rooms.
I think the coolist place in the house is sunrise room. I think it is a comfortable chair with a beautiful outlook.the feel of the fireplace. you could layback in the chair, just, sit and think. Itis a beautiful Rm.
This is truly a "Dream Home", my dream home. I couldn't have planned it better myself. It has everything including location that I have ever wanted. All my life since I was a little girl I have been moved around never living in one place for more than 5 years. My dream is to have a home that I can stay in for the rest of my life. I have had a chance to live in Santa Fe for a few months and just loved it. I can't wait to get back there. How cool would it be for someone who has no laundry facilities right now to have 2 laundries!!! I can so imagine…
Ohhhh man does that meen I don't have to get in the car and do my laundry in town ;D I love it
I would absolutley have a fit (a good fit ) if I won this house.I would pack up my kids and fiance and away we would go. OMG i love this home!!!!!!!!
What an AMAZING home I would love to win for my family, especially my husband!! My husband and I have been together for 17 years in May. We have a 10 year old son, Dawson that has Autism. We live in Texas currently and moved here from California. He is a handyman and has always dreamed of building us a new home, especially for his son. We live in a 640 s.f. Home with no central heating or air. It is uninsulated and we have no oven. We started to try and add on but I lost my job at the emergency room where I worked. My husband is so busy working to build everyone elses dream homes that he does not have the energy to work on his castle
Dawson our son suffers from asthma and a our home with extreme temp. Changes is hard on him. We moved to TX 3 years ago, bought this home with the acreage and plan to add on to our home. I know how badly my husband wants to and dreams of this for us, his family, but he also says all the time he is not sure if he has another build in him. Before moving here we lived with my mom in CA while I went to nursing school and my amazing husband added 1800 sf to her home by himself so she could have a new home and someday sell so she can retire. See he is lovely!! No one more deserving than to have a beautiful home that is done and new for his family. We love New Mexico and have job to where we can live anywhere. It would be a DREAM COME TRUE to win this completed home for my husband and son. I have done my part and entered many times. Maybe someone will read this and it will move them and know what an amazing husband I have and amazing son!! It would be a blessing and a dream for our family to be given this home. My family and I could have such a better quality of life, especially my sweet baby boy!!! I love HGTV, am an addict, always on here at home and at work in the ER. Many blessings to all whom read this and good luck to all that have entered this DREAM HOME giveaway!!! <3

Not big a blogging, would rather review photos and take the tours. So it seems everyone is excited to win, so am I ! Have loads of creative juices and this would be the perfect place to put them to good use. Husband would love it here, he was born in New Mexico. Lots of relatives still live here, would be nice living nearby. Thanks for the videos, they are great.
I am concerned that so many people with dire life circumstances think that they can live in the house, drive a new car and party like there is tomorrow. There is a huge tax burden associated with this win! With the Bush tax cuts there would be a federal tax liability of about $750,000. If Obama raises the tax on the wealthy in 2010 it will be in excess of $850,000. So if the winner gave IRS the whole $500,000 they would still need to pay the closing costs, local taxes, any state taxes, and the remainder to the IRS. They would need another $400,000 plus in the bank or be able to qualify for a loan. Insurance, annual taxes, and HOA fees will probably exceed $2000.00 a month plus the loan payment if they don't have enough financial reserves. There is a reason none of the winners live in the houses they win. I hope the person that wins can truly afford to live there.
If they win they'll be informed of their tax expenses. If they're just dreaming, they'll have a presidential pardon for tax evasion and no taxes to worry about, their health will be perfect (no more wheelchair access worries), there won't be any family quarrels, and they'll live happily ever after….
i only see this house for my Cassie who has Rett syndome and austim no partying here she hasnt been outside for years over her allrgies i only c no oak trees and pecan and no grass , thats what apeals to me about this house and windows for her to see outside
man, this place is great!!!!! I would love to wake up there every morning… I'm obsessed, and entered probably 20+ times! My family needs a break from all our stress, and this would be a dream come true! Good luck to everyone who entered, I know exactly how badly you want this, and to whoever wins it is well deserved!!!
I would be super excited if i had a home with one laundry room… i can imagine how much easier it would be with TWO. WOW!!!!!!! NO MORE LAUNDRY MATS… NO MORE HAVING TO GET $20 of QUARTERS. I'LL BE THE QUEEN OF LAUNDRY! WASH EVERYDAY!!!
I have taken several tours of the Dream Home and never imagined another laundry room! Linda is surpassing herself with every home. I think you're absolutely right, the 2010 home seems to have so many conveniences in mind for us the homemaker. Everything put in the kitchen is so superbly thought out. If I win, when I win, I would definitely love to have you over for a meal and talk endlessly about all the awesome features in this house. Hope to see you and the house in person in March.
What an amazing home to do laundry in!!! Two laundry areas!!! That is a feature that I love!!!
