Your Last Chance to Enter

Good day, bloggers.

I can’t believe how fast the last few weeks have flown! The giveaway entry period is almost over — 5 p.m. on Friday, to be exact. What will you do to pass the time until the winner is announced?

Perhaps you will take a trip to fabulous Santa Fe. If so, please go to Cafe Pasqual’s and order the Huevos Motulenos, one of the best egg dishes I’ve ever eaten. The ingredient list – sautéed bananas, feta cheese, green peas, black beans, two eggs over easy and red or green sauce – may seem odd, but trust me, you will devour it. Mmmm … delicious!

HGTV Family is very professional.I wish I have money so they can upgrade my house.I live here in Peyton Colorado, you don't trust nobody to do anything to your house.Did hire somebody long time ago to do my porch, and it was water on the roof everywhere, and never finish it.I don't trust nobody. My husband and I will try to figure it out what to do to fix it.I watch TV all the time about HGTV , and try to see what we can do for my porch, and deck. All the Houses that HGTV fixed are so beautiful.

  6. Hello every one and good luck from a Texas gal. I enjoy looking at this dream home every day. I even have my two teenage boys excited about the chance of winning. My oldest is 21 and said he gets the Toy Story room and the other wants the casita. Nothing wrong with dreaming. Counting down the days and hoping my dreams come true.

  7. Well I did enter the last day and tried to everyday. I will be waiting for the winner and I am going to be doing the same thing with my family . We are so excited and I can't figure it out why we are ? I know why we LOVE this home if I were to build a home I would want all of these features. It has all of the security a single mother with daughters would need . I like the private location I wish I could afford to live in a private community that offers all that SanPedro Overlook offers. This would truly be my dream come true . I could start watching for ufo's and take lots of pictures. There is so much I would be able to do around NM it sounds like an exciting place.

  8. Like everyone else, I am waiting to see if someone comes to my door or at my place of employment. I work night shift on both dates, on March 2 and March 15. I would be so excited if they came to my job. I guess by now everyone is dreaming of what they will be doing or how exciting they will be. Truely HGTV has coined it right by saying "Dream Home". This does make you enjoy the dream. Just trying to keep busy until the great reveal, cleaning out closets, doing crafts, eating, etc……. ha! The days are creeping by now, when entering the contest they went by fast. I guess it is the anticipation. Stay busy and keep on dreaming all fellow bloggers, soon someone will be very excited!!!!!! and blessed. Peggy

  13. When entering the office from the entrance area, there are two doors, one door is the bathroom, what is the other one. Also where are the closets for the guest room, and children room. The second laundry room, we see it, but show us the entrance for it, where exactly is it located. In the Casita, where the water heater is located, the doors show the doors opened. In the shower in the Master Bedroom show the window opened. Outside there is a white door between the children room, and the guest room, what is in there. Overall you did a great job! I loved the view you did of the house. But I'm just too curious!!!!! LOL

Theresa Eldajjani on February 27, 2010 at 4:39 am
  14. What animals are in the area , and reptiles, will they come up to your door a lot? In general what should we be concern about.

Theresa Eldajjani on February 27, 2010 at 4:47 am
  15. What are the room sizes. What would it costtomove in Fed taxes, state taxes, property taxes, etc. Would the 1/2 million cover all the taxes? Loved the house but someone told me if you win it you will have to sell it because of the costs. Also how much approximately would the heat and AC cost be. Loved the floor plan .

sherry caldwell on February 27, 2010 at 3:21 pm
    • The income taxes alone are estimated at 700-800,000 dollars. If you can afford to move to the area, (most winners are from across the country from their dream home win) and take a 300,000 mortgage, pay yearly property taxes, HOA fees, and utilities, you could move in with substantial equity on the property. Otherwise you could sell and build or buy something within you're budgetary constraints, or spend the proceeds anyway you feel is worthwhile. Retiring early, paying for family educational expenses, giving to charities, starting your own business are among the possibilities if you don't remain fixated on living in and owning the one and only 2010 HGTV dream home.

  23. I am just curious, last time they said that they were doing it as a live ambush for the DREAM Home, the sun hadn't set in the east and I live in SC. Well they said that they were live in FL and the Sun was still up. But when they went to the person's house the sun had already set in the mid western state they were from (..was it MI?) and it was really dark out. It should have still been day. Plus, it was edited or TV too. Hmmmm… I am excited anyway. I can't wait! This would be a perfect Birthday present for me!!

Jennifer Wright Lazo on February 28, 2010 at 11:12 pm
    • The ambush is usually a surprise to the winner, but it is usually filmed a day to a week before the official winner announcement television special airs. Since the television special is really another advertisement opportunity for the sponsors, they probably want people to fool themselves into thinking its happening as a live as it airs event, instead of being a pre-recorded segment of the show. This year the special is playing the day after the daylight savings time kicks in, and that sort of thing could confuse the film crew.

  24. What are the taxes yearly on this Dream Home?

Jennifer Wright Lazo on February 28, 2010 at 11:16 pm
    • I've seen estimates of property taxes of 3,000 to 10,000 dollars a year. Since they weren't from someone living in the same subdivision with a comparably valued home, I don't know which is accurate. If you win you'll get the correct figures, and be made aware of all the maintenance bills necessary to upkeep the dream home.

      dreamn_again on March 1, 2010 at 3:52 am
  25. I would be the happiest person! Since the 16th is my Birthday it would be the best birthday git ever!!

This is such an awesome Dream Home! Good Luck To ALL!! My 16 year-old loves that there's a laundry room in the guest room too, isn't that crazy?!

  30. i wouldn't know where to start, as I've always lived in very modest dwellings.
nothing larger than 2 bdrms. perhaps the kitch. were I could really cook something special and have room to do it!
It would scary at night in such a big place, especially during the monsoon season, at night!
I'm a artist, and could sell my works in the area, Santa Fe, etc.

I pray something good like this could happen to me!

Cheryl on March 14, 2010 at 2:44 am
  40. Oh the home has been given away and HGTV I have to say thank you – not only for myself – but for all of those who had all this time to dream. To dare to dream – it kept their hearts beating strong in hopes they as well as I would be a winner. During these months I spent time writing Ebooks on Native American Stories – still I dreamed about the house – but my ebooks are my dream as well. I thought if 1000 people would buy my ebooks I could replace my vechicle that was hit a few months ago by a two ton truck – well that is one of my own dreams come true – go to http://www.metahawk.com to view my books but HGTV – thank you so much for giving us all the chance to dream once again.

  48. The person who asked why someone was showing up on her property taking pictures and refusing to give her any info on why they were there. She/he asked if people on here had this happen or ideas on why. I offered the possible reason of housing payments and told the person to not answer as it is not our business and he/she took huge offense.

  50. How was I rude…my comment is still there and is in a direct regard to what she asked. You probably are her.

adisneyfamily on February 22, 2010 at 11:28 pm
  51. So let me see if I get this right. 2rolndice asks a question but when the answers get a little too close to the truth 2rolndice gets upset. Maybe they aren't foreclosing on your home, maybe they are there to scout to reposess your car. Or were you trying to make people think that HGTV was scouting you as the winner when they haven't even had the drawing so when your plan didn't work you get pis*ed off and decide to make the other bloggers as miserable as you are.
As for blowbags- isn't it convenient that you show up only to put down other bloggers. You call the people here "blogatics" which I am guessing is a misspelling for blog addicts. Let me ask you this wouldn't you yourself be the same since you are also on this blog. If not then you truly have no right to chime in.
Why don't both of you disappear permanently.

speaking truth on February 23, 2010 at 3:31 pm
  52. Ageed, probably this same person with a new name. Quite a few remarks were removed, his quips & his mean retorts. I still don't see my remark as offensive stating we don't know what his situation is, but stating I'm over it & out. Just means I done with trying to configure anything else out for him with his hostility being invoked.
