Super fan, i have a question. I was wondering if the person who has won the hgtv dream home already knows, and were just waiting for the winner to be revealed? Or will not even the winner know until march 15h? And what is the winner is not at home when HGTV suprises them?
The drawing is "on or about" March 2nd. The televised show on March 15th is NOT live. So, the winner is contacted somewhere between those dates. (My guess is between the 4th and the 11th or 12th).
Don't worry about HGTV finding the winner. They are resourceful and find out everything they need to know before the ambush.
I think HGTV is like Santa Clause… if your name is drawn, they seem to find you no matter where you are. I believe I recall one person who was ambushed at a restaurant. Although, I plan on staying home that evening, just in case.
They should check the records, I bet there are fewer traffic accidents on the nights they announce the winner because most of us bloggers are at home and glued to the television!
Hi Gail and Mary! Thanks for keeping us all together and happy on this blog! I love the home just the way it is . . . however if I won and decided to change anything . . gonna call Mary and Gail!
GOOD LUCK TO EVERYONE! WE LOVE YOU GAIL & MARY!
Beverly
Gail, I agree, the window film really does work. Our local home & garden center carries it. Several different colors, designs and textures and all very inexpensive. Easy to appy & remove. Good luck to everyone! ~Nina
I thought that too, the shower was unique with the glass and being able to see the continuance of the glass tile through it, but then all I could think of was privacy. Most people don't have the body they want someone else in the room to see that close up under that much lighting. Roll over in bed and look to the right and see all that XXXX : ) Well, you could reply look to left and there will be a much better view.
-That was a good idea adhearing some sort of semi transparent material to shower wall, or you could screw decorative hardware to ceiling and put some sort of rich textured drapery that you could pull open or close.
LOL…funny about the XXXX and the other view being better.
I just got done looking at the casita photo's again, and I would describe it as the "cozy high tech nook," with the warm color paint. I like all that glass, too.
This home is amazing, i love it !!! I hope and pray everyday that me, my husband and my wonderful kids can be the lucky winners. I have 4 kids and live in a 2 bedroom apartment, so any house for us would be the biggest blessing. Even my kids are asking everyday if we are the winners. I had to mark it on their calendar so the would know the day the winner will be announced. Thanks for the amazing tours of the home. Cant wait to move to New Mexico and start our new life in our new home.
I also have 4 kids (6 and under) and they have ask if we are the winners also, they also already have the bedrooms picked out. I have it on the calendar so they would stop asking, LOL now they ask what's today and then I show them and then they count how many days left. LOL .. Hoping I win also…
Gail,
Love that idea! The steam should do the job.
Bathing suit anyone!
Getting ready for another winter storm 15 to 20. It won't last long .I'm looking forward to Spring.
With that window treatment ,you can cut out a design and place them strategically .
Dear Gail and Mary, Thankyou for posting, and not just leaving the bloggers hanging, you have given us something to do while we wait. Gail, I feel you have become my friend even though we haven't met yet. I do like your idea, but I have one of my own. In westerns movies women would go behind a tri fold privacy stand and get dressed. The material fabric would have to be turquois, and the frame wood pine ( just like the wood inside the home). I would love to talk to Linda ( the home decorator ) about where they sell tri fold privacy stands. That way I can put the stand up or take it down and store it. I think the turquois fabric would bring out the color in the tiles. The design team did a excellent job, I luv the wall of tiles and with glass you can see the whole thing. I know what the design team can do so maybe the tri fold will be in the room when I get there. Thanks again for supporting the bloggers.
You can actually make your own. Just decide the size of the individual panels, make 3 frames and connect them with hinges. I've done it in the past with fabric down the middle of each frame.
Thanks for the great idea! If I were to win, the Casita would probably be my private domain. I wouldn't want the grand kids to walk in on me. My children's families, including my many grandchildren would be around to occupy the main house. It sure would be wonderful to finally have a home for them all to visit, or stay if needed.
Remember the HGTV Dream Home Silestone Weekend Sweepstakes?
Well, the last day to enter was this past Friday, February 19th.
The sweepstakes was for a chance for one person and a friend to win a weekend in Santa Fe, New Mexico, including a tour of the HGTV Dream Home with House Planner Jack Thomasson! The HGTV Dream Home Silestone Weekend is scheduled to take place the weekend of March 26, 2010.
Winners are going to be notified February 28, 2010! So, I just wanted to wish everyone the very best of luck and my hope is that within the next few days one of my blogger buddies will be announcing some fabulous news to us!
Living the Dream!
Thanks so much for the reminder, Lynn. I'll have to remember not to auto delete all but the usual email or two that I allow through, and to even answer my phone on the 28th!
That reminds me of a comment posted awhile back—as to the chances of winning, the facts are as follows:
A. the chance of ME winning the Dream Home—probably 1 in 1 million.
B. the chance of ONE lucky person winning the Dream Home—100%
Hey, regardless of the odds, with that knowledge, count me in!
i'm sorry if this comes off a negative, I'm just a bit puzzled by this and I mean no offense:
Isn't March 26 after someone has already won the house? Isn't it kind of weird to invite strangers over to the house after it's already been awarded?
Now that you mention it. Hmmm!
Guess, there is time until the paperwork is done to make it official with the dream home being the actiual winners. So until then, they can & squeeze in more marketing & publicity efforts in with this great offering as it. What else could it be. Secondly, I did not know about this other thing Lynn mentioned above so it's all adding another treat now isn't it. I'm sure they have done this a few times & know how to get the most out of marketing & publicity while improving the process as they go along with rewards as they keenly do.
The winner won't take physical possession (if they are keeping it) to around May or so…there is a lot that goes on in the meantime.
I didn't know about the Silestone weekend contest. I'm so disapointed that I can't take the tour, especially with Jack Thomasson by my side. What fun that would have been. I love this house!
Thanks for the reminder- I entered and then totally forgot…my daughter was asking if we could go take a tour, but being on the East coast it wasn't practical. She said that even if we didn't win she still wanted to see it. I like that they do the tour after the winner is announced so that people don't have to worry about not being home in case the ambush team came over.
I'm so sorry for those of you who didn't know about this contest. I had posted it quite some time ago and hope all of my blogger buddies had seen it. I promise that from now on I will write these things in CAPS or I'll put *******'s in front of the contests when I come across them…but promise you won't think I'm screaming at any of you…would never do that!
Go bloggers!
Living the Dream! <3
Lynn Coggin: I AM PUTTING THIS IN CAPS. IT IS NOT YOUR FAULT IF SOME OF US FORGET YOUR INFORMATIVE POSTS. YOU ARE A SUPER, SUPER BLOGGER, AND A SUPER FRIEND TO US ALL.
THANK YOU.
Thank you . You are so sweet. It is a bgood idia. Thanks again.
Some people came around later…I think you did really good publicizing it.
Thanks guys!

Well, It's February 28, 6:15 PM, EST. Guess I didn't win the Silestone Weekend. Rats!! Oh, well, I'm getting my very own Silestone for our kitchen remodel. That stuff is wonderful, I think, never having has any. Anyway, thanks, Lynn for the info.
Just like Gail said, I understand the designer wanting to showcase the tile wall therefore utilizing glass to not break the line of sight. I, however, would use the opaque film or put up a curtain – just for privacy on the loo!
Thanks for the idea, Gail; however, I am in agreement with those who said that they love the room just the way it is. Not that I didn't think about the fact that some of my guests may not feel as comfortable with the exposure! Like other bloggers, I had also thought of putting up a curtain for shy guests, so it could be pulled open for those who wanted the fun of the view. But it was so nice of you to come up with that very clever idea!
Just wanted to take the time to chime in that I also love the floor plan. It has so many basic features that a home needs. And the word "basic" doesn't do justice to the very well designed spaces. If you are going to actually live there… you need storage, and this home actually has that. The only thing that I would have changed with this floor plan would have been to put a closet in the office space. I have a very hard working home business (software designer and developer), and love having a closet in my office to keep equipment out of sight.
GAIL, JUST A QUESTION HAS ANYONE WHO HAS SHOWN UP ON THE BLOG ACTUALLY WON THE DREAM HOME IN THE PAST?
When I roll over in the morning, I usually have a pillow on my head. If I see a toilet first thing in the morning, I go and use it and then I wake up and think of other things (or maybe back to bed with a pillow). The clear view into the bathroom doesn't bother me and if it were obscured the sleek modernity would become lost. There's something uniquely uncomplicated about seeing the toilet so clearly through the glass. I like it because it cuts through social graces into whats important, in this case, the bathroom apparently! Toilets have been on display as art before you know!!
sarah: Re toilets on display as art: Where? A photo of a binging student vomiting? A celebrity found dead on the throne? Ah, the master artists. I appreciate them all very much! After you take that pillow off your head and DON'T see a toilet, what do you do? Ah, youth!
My vote for the casita cottege, would be to use it as an office space, and warm guest place for friends and family. I like your idea Gail of using the opaque material for brief cover, and as the winner lives with the artistic flow of the space, to make changes within time. There are also wonderful accent curtains that can be used ( shade concept) – incorporating an unusual shade of turquoise) or one of the myriad of colors of the tile. You can roll up the shade and continue the shine of the tile and glasss.
Lets see, for me I can see using the casita space for several avenues to not solely identify it as one way only in my dreams.
~ Keep it as is a guest space, but add the mirror reflective film to both exterior sides of the shower enclosure to enhance the space for all uses & likes for all purposes it will take on
~ I love the built in look of a murphy stylized bed enclosure (that is a pull down bed as needed) with added bookcases & or with cabinet compartments for giving more quality uses for any room for needs of a users.
~ A exercise facility as you are not near easy access to a gym with this location
~ A office is good, but limited probably due to being a gated community. (Like mine I live in now, it has definitive rules on businesses with the home owners association) So would not be surprised if it runs into the same guidelines I have presently with operating a business. With that being said, if I were a homeowner in this environment I would not like a neighbor having clients, nonresidential cars, (commercial) & potentially a steady stream of cars, deliveries, delivery trucks et. So, I'm sure it's very prohibitive.
PFG: An exercise room is a great idea and one that doesn't exist in the main house. My intention when I win is to use the casita as an art studio.
Oh yes, like that one too. Great picturesque sliding door enclosure for natural light, trying not to view out too much. Yep! Good.
Honeymoon room. Maybe, you won't have visitors often. LOL
Hi PFG, Janice here. Lots of great great ideas in your post. Looking at the HOA, and all codes is tantamount, before incorporating a business. The art studio idea that Dean talks about sounds wonderful, and probably would not interfere significantly with the community requirements. I write educational programs, and I am pretty thankful that I can keep it to a desktop, and a file system. At days end, the fun begins with organic wine, aged cheese and crackers. There are so many wonderful places in this house I imagine that we would have a ball trying to figure our where to soak in the magic and blessed evening.

I'm actually looking forward to the over dinner conversations with guests who have stayed in the Casita after a mighty hot mexican dinner and margaritas with pepper juice!! I think a very pretty screen stashed in the closet would be fine, if the guests want more privacy…there it is. I'm surprised I haven't heard a suggestion for a sound barrier as well……………..just turn up the sound system, there must be one in there!
I truly love the place, just the way it is, I'm definitely not going to complain.
Received 30" of snow here yesterday! Beautiful, but it took 4-5 hours by tractor to move it around last night, more mixed rain and snow today, winter is arriving alittle late this year!
Wow! 30", that's a lot! Those are the days when you want to stay home by the fire place. Hope the rain didn't freeze to ice. This has been a crazy year for us in Florida, as well (although, you don't need to feel sorry for us since our snow melted immediately). But just wanted to say that I have spent hours over my lifetime shoveling snow. So, my heart goes out to you.
It never occured to me,but now that its been brought up. You can use some car window tint as well ! And you don't have to do the entire window you can do like you said Gail, you can even go as dark as limo tint. Either way I LOVE this home as is !!!!!!!
You're right on target. I have to let it be known that is what window film is. As it comes in all different shades, mirror reflective (one way mirror like ability) textures or a preestablished pattern by several manufacturers.
Hey, ladies, here's an article that might brighten the day for some of us (okay, maybe a lot of us!)!
http://www.ajc.com/news/gwinnett/researcher-curvy…
(Sorry guys, your secret's out now!)
Armed with this knowledge, maybe the lack of privacy in the casita is not such a bad thing after all!
Yes, watched a show I believe on PBS or something like that a while back & it was interesting. I recall it to be an actual experiment done on men & women dating in England as I think, & review it better in my mind now.
Wiith that being said, what's the brain accumen for women towards men? LOL!
C'mon you know what it is, so let's put this one out there too?
I agree — a study should be done on women's view of men! I volunteer to be one of the women who looks at the men's photos! LOL!!!
C&E… great article.. And it makes me feel better for eating my entire frittata this morning!!! PFG…. you know women, they don't care about a man's body, they love his brain and humor…hehehe….
rlg, This isn't true? Well rounded women are the greatest Yeah Yeah!!!!
LOL! Love it! I also want to volunteer to have my brain scanned while looking at guys photos!
Thanks for sharing!
Living the Dream!
Sex and love are really all about reproduction. It is all the nature.
that was a good article you posted would it matter if it was a nudist colony because I am one who kinda likes freedom enduring privacy in other words it really wouldn't matter to me or however people who like their freedom choose to go naked it will set you free just hope that you don't forget and answer that doorbell !!!!!!!
That's always been my philosophy: Only dogs like bones & they bury them!
I like the idea of curtains, cause you can always open them back up and you'd still have the whole view of the tile. Turquoise curtains would be nice! Superfan/Mary, can you post more things? we need something to keep our minds occupied! PLEASEEEEEEE!!!!
It is just so pretty with the wall of tile. I'm thinking some kind of folding screen, that way if you want to use it fine, if not that is also fine!!!
I was thinking some custom etching to the casita shower. There are a lot of wonderful artists in New Mexico. I bet something super creative can be done.
That is a great idea. Then you don't have to deal with the water spots from years of use (maybe just a few).
perfect solution without spending a fortune. It also doesn't have to go all the way to the top or bottom, letting the tile still show.
I think the home is perfect, as is! The only thing I would add is a hot tub. Oh, and a huge popcorn popper in the theater room. That room looks so cozy to me.
That was one of the possibilities when we were voting on house warming gifts. (popcorn)
I missed that
is today the day to know who won the wrap?
Wow – just visited the SanPedro Overlook link from the main page. This provides a very real feel for the region. I can imagine enjoying this area immensely with the hiking options, community pool and just the overall vast feeling of freedom. AAhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh. Plus this incredible home, vehicle, cash and being close to family?! How much better could it get? I couldn't even imagine. This truly is a dream – like walking on a cloud. The winner will be indescribably fortunate! Ahhhhh-mazing.
If you use Google Earth, you can see the whole subdivision, including the clubhouse, swimming pool, guard house, etc. The pictures were taken before the Dream House was built, but you can see the area and some of the homes (roof tops only) in the development. It took awhile to locate the community. I started out in Albuquerque, found Hwy 14. Then I found the Paa-Ko Ridge Golf Course. The San Pedro Overlook is North of the Golf Course. Just zoom in and follow Hwy 14 North about 2 miles, until you see the entrance on the left. You can use Google Streets on Hwy 14 and up to the Gate House, but since it's a gated community, the Google Streets cameras were not able to get inside.
Awesome, thanks for the suggestion and directions! Our daughter locates everything on Google Earth – not sure why we hadn't thought about it before now. I'll take a look after I get caught up a bit on the blog. We are avid outdoors people and would love the opportunity to be a part of this community permanently! Thanks again!
I do LOVE the tile in the casita !!!! wow wow and wow !!! And the views of this DREAM HOME are just THAT, what a dreamy view! OH MY GOODNESS, I CAN'T TAKE IT ANYMORE THE ANTICIPATIONS DRIVING ME UP THE WALL !!!!!
I'm with you. It reminds me of when I was a little girl in swimming lessons… when I was dog paddling back, those last few inches to reach the dock took FOREVER. On the other hand, I am having such a wonderful time dreaming about being the owner of that amazing home, I don't know that I want this to end!
I think the shower is great, privacy is not a problem for us. Besides who could see anything? You would be sharing with soneone who KNOWS you and there are window coverings in the bedroom area to outside. If it isn't broken don't fix it!
Gail and Mary, thanks for another blog video. I like the idea of the window film. One of our great bloggers posted that idea when we were discussing the casita issue a couple of months ago. I looked it up then and had wished I had known of it prior as it would have been a great solution for us on a prior project.
Bloggers- please do not feed the trolls. For those who don't know what a troll is, it is a person who is deliberately posting negative comments…I, too, have learned the hard way to not feed the trolls. I am posting this seperate from the negative comment as when we feed them with comments then they tend to stick around and come back for more food. Just give them a thumbs down, resist commenting, and hopefully they will go away. Currently, we have several trolls hanging around trying to cause chaos on our happy board…so, PLEASE DO NOT FEED THE TROLLS.
I totally agree! They can suck you into their drama so fast if you're not careful.
You're right. It's such a nice board. I'm afraid there's always one bad apple.
I think the dream home is awesome the way it is. My family and I woud be so lucky to win I have a 17 month old and a baby on the way.I just got engaged so this would be the best gift ever!!! Anybody would be so lucky to win!! I m so excited to wait and see!!
QUESTION OF THE DAY- which window film would you pick for the Casita? Mary has posted a link (below the video) to Home Depot. The store shows 45 products under window film. Which design would you use if you are the winner?
hint: to access all of the styles write "window film" in the search box.
Enjoy the dreaming!

Okay- not all 45 are decorative…but there are options. Or did you find something elsewhere that you like better?
I like the blocks one that Mary has linked to directly. I almost wonder if the "paper sidelights" or the "decorative colored lines" would match close enough to the tile if I cut them in a block pattern…yes, more work for me ;o) They did have some Disney ones that my girls would love for elsewhere…especially as one has a princess room, but I don't know if I would actually put it in their room…that type, while cute, is not exactly the design I'm going for.
I did find some other alternatives:
A marble looking one that would go well with the tile, but I'm not sure on such a big piece of it:
http://www.glassdeco.com/getproduct.cfm?id=01107
The colors in this one could work well:
http://www.glassdeco.com/getproduct.cfm?id=01108
Some of the embossed looks would possibly work:
http://www.windowfilmworld.com/embossed_window_fi…
Or there is the option of using these colored films and imitating the tile wall:
http://www.wallpaperforwindows.com/pc/Deco-Tint-C…
Good research diss, I checked out some of the sights, and they offer interesting options.
I found three that I liked — etched leaf, colored lines, and rice paper. The colored lines may be the best match for the casita decor, though.
Why not hire the same tile artist to create a sort of exact same tile wall in that clear wall space and add a really cool feature of a wall waterfall that would be visable from the bed. Soft water lighting can also be a lovly companion. What an awesome view you would have looking in from the outside patio in the evenings! This will also help to reduce sound from shower while watching TV. I know that is were part of my cash winnings would go.
oh…and the water fall water should be recycled water from the shower
That's a great idea, Thanks for the idea. Although a beautiful mural of the mountains would look fabulous also
Wow also terrific could almost paint 3 D look, with the right paints.
Every aspect of the Home is beautiful, and will be adjusted as need arises. But does anybody know about the outside? What types of plants grow in Sandi Park, especially in the soil of the property? Is there a restriction on what type of ornamental/ vegetation plants are allowed in the home owner organization bi-law.
It looks like a sandy desert, but with the green mountain within few miles, it is hard to imagine it being barren. Looking at the plan for the constriction, there were colorful flowers in the diagram, but i don't see them in the finished work, is that because of HO regulation, or they have not bloomed yet?
Hi there everyone! Okay, it's 5:00pm on Thursday. When will we know who won the famous Monica Turquoise Wrap? Can we please wrap this up soon? Please? Okay. Pretty, pretty please?
Living the Dream!
Hmmm, all wrapped up and nowhere to go, Lynn? All I know is that the winner won't be me. After all, just like the Dream Home itself—you can't win if you don't play!
Whoever the winner is, I'm sure their gift will come nicely wrapped.
I'm hoping they at least let us know it has been awarded because with our luck it will be a non-blogger and so that person would never post a think. Still hoping that it is a blogger…would love to have it, but my one hope (more than me) is just a blogger.
adisneyfamily…I agree with you. Don't you think it would be really cool if it was a blogger who won the Turquoise Wrap and the HGTV home? I hope its a blogger who showed compassion and always stayed positive to other bloggers. Of course that would be you and me! Like ReneeLovesGreen always says HeHeHe! or LOL!
My mother and I once lived in a house that had an enclosed glass shower outside.
I loved the openness of it!! I wouldn't change it unless I could do some artsy glass etching. : )
I think the designers did a wonderful job! Thanks for the suggestion!! ohhhh…the anticipation!!
How interesting! What kind of a location was that, that you could have an outside glass-enclosed shower? And why would you even have the glass, if it was outside? I am picturing something exotic and tropical. My husband and I think the casita is sexy. But (crossing my fingers and saying a little prayer here) if we win, and our guests are shy, it just occured to me that they could toss their towels over the glass to provide privacy! We'll get large beach towels!
Caryn, Earlier today ,i was for sure HGTV was stalking me at work . am I paranoid or what?
A one way mirror might not be a bad idea
Dear Gail, I wish everyone would just go back and read the rules for this home. The rules say that the winner will be picked March 2nd. I can't wait all I think about is turquois. In fact I went today and had my toe nails painted turquois here it is winter and I'm walking out of the super store with pink manicure flip flops and turquois toe nail and so happy. I don't even care if people think I'm weard. I would like to know also who won the turquois wrap, but maybe you are saving the wrap for the home winner. It would be so wonderful for the dream team to show up at my door and put that wrap on me, HGTV has truly made me dream Big.
Some of my mystical friends have talked about dressing for the dream. Your idea of thinking turquoise, and painting your toe nails, and walking the walk with happy thoughts is a winning thought. Every winning thought connects to good.
Thankyou to my spiritual friends you have showed me a sign and I will continue to dream BIG HAPPY THOUGHTS
I posted it really big the other day and people still asked…never fails.
I just went back and looked at the casita, oh! how amazing that room is. For the glass shower a person could just hang some big long towels over the glass if a person wants some privacy, and then take those towels down when your'e done. Just a simple idea.
Kathy Diane: Never thought of that. Towel rack across the inside of the bathroom glass. Could it be done? Only David knows. He's the Shadow that created this whole toilet exposure. As a joke. But I know he'll step up and help the winner if there is a problem. He's a really good guy.
Well the towels could hang over the top of the glass to the dry side so they don't get wet.
Or another suggestion would be to hang beads between the toilet or a mid height screen or a small serving cart so you can add toiletries or anything candles etc. Beads would match the tile and the cart might be needed for extra towels etc.
Window Film:
Still laughing at this!!!
That link has some good choices.
art scape 284224(Gails choice)
mirror PRS361!!! Who's looking at you now!
Fish 01-0105
Create your own mural use a little of each.
P.S. Gail your jewelry is gorgeous, along with that beautiful smile.
I agree Mary totally
Well, I would think by now they at lest contacted the winner? UGH………
No, not yet. Probably sometime next week. They had to wait for all the mail-ins to come in.
79 DEGREES. It's 79 degrees in Palm Springs. There are flowers, green grass, sun bathers, etc. I got out of Dodge before the new round of snow came. This is one great country! 79 degrees. I may miss the Olympics tonight….but can't, gotta see who wins. 79 degrees. This is too good.
HGTV, without a doubt, I am ready for high desert living. Snow, sunshine, and mountains. Yes, I can handle that!!!
Welcome to California !!! Isn't it nice? How long are you staying? It will rain ( drizzle ) by the weekend 11 Sandy (2 hrs. away).
9
Will be here until Monday. Should be closer to you on Sunday. If you have time and want to meet, let me know.
ABSOLUTELY! How do we do this?
Do the names L Harvey or L Evans mean anything to you?
Well, the snow storm missed us here…the predicted snow from 1am last night through sometime tomorrow night and all we have is wing…not a single flake.
Thought you would be shoveling snow. Thanks for the update.
There has been STRONG wind that woke the girls up all night and we were without power for a couple of hours today. I have never heard the wind so loud here before…it sounded like we were sitting in the middle of a runway with jets all around.
Would the snow have been better? It's a good thing snow didn't accompany the wind.
Just looking at the area weather. Bet you didn't know the temp in Palm Springs Thursday the 25th was 79 degrees! I just glanced at the forecast: although Friday will be 78, the bad news is that Saturday will bring mid-60's and chance of rain showers. Hope you can handle the extremes of S CA winter weather. Remember to dress warm on Saturday. At least the temps are expected to climb back into the mid to upper 70's from Sunday forward. Perfect convertible weather, I'd say.
Enjoy your Palm Springs stay.
When I arrived at the Ontario Airport on Wednesday, people had jackets on. They said it was cold. I had on a tee and it felt great!!! Do you think leaving 30 degree weather had something to do with it?
Coop, don't know if I can endure your bad news, mid-60's weather and chance of showers. Gee, wonder how many inches or feet of snow my husband will shovel this weekend? I'd rather be there, helping to shovel, instead of being in Palm Springs, suffering the awful effects (green grass, flowers, warm sunshine. snow-capped mountains, did I say flowers, etc) of 60 and 70 degree weather. Oh the things we must endure in life. How will I transition back to real life?
So happy to hear you are able to get a respite from all the snow … Enjoy the glorious sunshine and warm weather!
79 Degrees? Ahhhhh…that must feel great! Enjoy your trip Lessie – I'm shoveling (okay, well, actually my son is shoveling and I am watching him from the window)!
Living the Dream!
Glad you got to enjoy a breather from the winter weather. Our golfer guests battled wind, rain and 40 something degree temps on Saturday. Today was better, with sunshine and 62. More like Florida. Have a good flight home, hopefully to melting snow.
As you all know, I don't have a problem with the casita. I like it just as it is. BUT I am willing to make some adjustments for the extremely shy….flashing strobe lights pointed in the direction of the bed.
I started to laugh when I just read your post. You are a laugh and a half. Have fun dear Lessie
You betcha! Friday, Sat, and part of Sun will be work, but I'm enjoying the rest of the time.
LOL
(Thought I had posted this earlier… but it didn't show up, so here I am again.)
might be a little hard to sleep- haha!
At least you won't have to worry about someone trying to take a sneak peek while you're in the bathroom. They should roll over and cover their head with the pillow.
Oh my … you've just reminded me of the old days of strobe lights flashing on the dancing floor … freeze frame style, strike a pose!
Yep…. Funny….
For me privacy is not the issue. The Casita has been suggested for parents/grandparents visiting. As a grandparent, I have to deal with bathroom visits during the night. Each time that bathroom light is turned on , it will wake the other grandparent. maybe 1 or 2 times a night. I vote for blackout curtains, for a good night's sleep!
How about a night light?
Just a follow up to my nightlight suggestion. Recently found one that I use for my guest bedroom that once you slip it off of its holder (which is also a soft nightlight) it lights up as a soft lantern. Obviously, you are a very thoughtful person, and this might be a way to keep from stubbing the toes and not wake up your sweetie.
We'll almost there to here the winner. I don't about some of you, but I I know ever inch of this house and walked thru it many times. Sometimes on the week-ends I'd look at the video 2-3x per day to obsorb the beauty of it all! My spirit is already there , I just have to arrive..so I hope the winner will feel the same. God Bless you.
Are you in the same room with the frig. ? The secret is I have cut up veggies next to me covering the truffles. Glue yourself down! You are so right about the people. As I said this is addictive only because I want to see who said what. I do not review the house because I have memorized it. Wishing you good luck and a nice Friday. Sandy
Not in the same room as the fridge… but, sadly, I know the way there.
Maybe instead of the coffee break, tomorrow I will hop on the bicycle for a quick ride around the neighborhood.
I, too, have the house memorized. But, now am going from room to room with ideas on rearranging the furniture.
Wishing you good luck, also! Best wishes, Jan
I LOVE the casita just the way it is . In fact me and my daughter haven't decided if it will be used by me or all hers. I would like it for another place for me but I am willing to take turns. HA HA No I LOVE the master bedroom. But I like all of the little arguments she can make. Well just as well I'm really not sure what I would do with all the extra space like the casita just makes me bewildered by the whole thought of winning such a neat wonderful perfect home. I would just LOVE IT ALL.
Lets talk about you and me you know what to do the truth will set you free why be shy it is not a nuidist colony it is a CASITA for all of you still wondering about those privacy issues I like my freedom it really wouldn't matter to me or however people who like thier freedom choose to go naked. The truth will set you free but just do not forget it and then go answer the doorbell. Respect enjoy and be free.
