  12. After you have won, and everyone has gone, would you run around ,and around the house, touching things, opening doors in the inside, and out side of the closets, that we didn't view, will you take a nice shower, cook a good meal, and look at tv in the entertainment room, then go to sleep in the wonderful Master-bedroom? Ooh so soft, so beautiful, wake to see the sun shining, and mountains, then go fix breakfast, then get into your new GMC terrain and drive to Santa Fe and enjoy some shopping, and eating, site seeing, then come home, go out to the patio with the best view of the mountains, and read some of the 72 books that are there all around the house just pick one. Then take a shower in the Casita, and then lay in that bed, and watch television and fall asleep! ect……… tomorrow. Was that tooo much already? LOL

  13. First of all,If I am not the winner, I would asked if they would like to adopt me? Seriously, I would asked if they ever thought that it was possible to be the winner. I would also want to know if they plan to live there and how are they feeling now that they know that they are the winner of such a beautiful home. I am sure that they will be in total shock for a while. Congratulations!

  14. I have moved since the end of entering sweeptakes and the address information entered is for the old address. Contact telephone number is unchanged. My cell phone actually. I wonder if they do an ambush style, will they call first? What if they come and the winner no longer lives in the place? I don't want to miss this chance.

iwantowin on March 11, 2010 at 4:45 pm
    • They already know who the winner is because the winner was already picked. They have already verified that the winner is at the address submitted on their entry form. No worry about lost information.

Tomorrow they know where they are going, what address they have recorded, to announce the winner on HGTV. Relax.

  38. Congratulations! I watched last night as they drove up to your house. Were you watching the show last night and see that they were on your street? I have another question. Do you plan to move there to live full time or will you use the HGTV 2010 Dream Home as a family vacation home?

I must not have dreamed enough since I didn't win the home. This is my favorite HGTV 2010 Dream Home yet! I wouldn't change a thing about this home. It was as though it had been built specifically for me. I was burning up my computer every day to enter the contest. You did say that your sister that lives on the same street as you was entering too. What did she say when you called her last night to tell her? I am sorry that I have asked so many questions but I really want to know.

All my best to you and your family.

  39. It really did happen that my husband (a nobody in relationship to HGTV) received a call ON March 1, to work in Louisiana on Monday, March 15 (yesterday). March 2 HGTV picked the winner of HGTV dream home (Myra and her son). My husband was told that he had to be in Louisiana on March 12 to start work on Monday the 15th (the day the winner was picked). My husband started packing on March 1. My husband told me that I had to send our son's check to Louisiana by Monday March 15. Then my husband left in his truck with New Mexico license plates with our son to go to Louisiana. My husband and our son was there when they announced Myra and her son as the winner. My husband said he was driving to Louisiana where the winner of the HGTV dream home was.

Good life to you and your son.

  41. CONGRADULATIONS, Miss Myra!!! I live in Livingston, LA. We moved here 4 months before Katrina and at that point, I was ready to move again! But we were so very blessed, no major damage. It does my heart good to see a fellow 'Louisianan' win this Dream Home. Good luck to you and your family and God Bless! Linda

  42. A GREAT BIG congrats to you and your family on winning this lovely home. I went to NM a number of years ago with the intention of moving their. Had some changes in my life so I decided not to move their, but loved the area I was in (Santa Fe/Albuquerque) and would go back again for a visit. I sincerely hope this new home is another bigger and brighter phase of your life. Don’t know you but it sure seems like this couldn’t have happened to a better person. ENJOY IT!

  43. Hi um my daughter hates the color of her room and she wants to change it but we have no idea what color! She has a very large room and we just have no idea what color would look best. She never wants friends over because she thinks that they would laugh at her!I wish someone could come and just change her whole room completly and that would make her the happiest person that lived. ( IF YOU COULD COME TO OUR HOUSE AND CHANGE HER ROOM THAT WOULD MEAN A BUNCH ) OHH AND SHE IS 12 YEARS OLD AND YOU KNOW HOW THEY COULD BE ( PICKY )

  44. We live in base housing, so we are going to give up our housing for a year and put our stuff in storage…this also helps then fund the trip. We do plan to stop for a week or two here or there to visit family and give the girls a true break from the road.
I love the mail suggestion as that was one concern we had…we were thinking of getting it forwarded to relatives, but were still unsure on the details.
Most of our bills are steady re-occurring ones like student loans, etc…we already pay those online through our bank- which as long as I have internet access, I can do that anywhere or set it up ahead of time to automatically pay.

  46. I just wanted to add that I home schooled my kids for a few years, and offered them the opportunity to travel. When we got back to Cinci Ohio one of our many home sites, the kids reentered school and did very well. Had we not taken the bull by the horns, and made a decision for adventure, I think we would have always wondered.

  47. I just want to get a word in edge-wise: I took my three girls with me on several trips without any help. I even took them thru Europe myself when they were 11.8, and 5. The advice is to have the older one use your computer to look up the place you are going to before you get there. Make a journal, and write something every day about anything. She should have a fifth or sixth grade math book to practice with and to make uo word problems. With these ideas she can do a whole curriculum, to be able to start middle school prepared. The little one will not remember so just let her have fun, but please give her responsabilities like "you be in charge of these sweaters" or "hold this bag" My youngest always smiled and felt proud of her contrbutions. Also
take lots of tissues with you wherever you go – there will be a need when you least expect it !
If you do plan to drive around ( which I do recomend) as you cross over into a new state there will most likely be a visitor's center with lots and lots of info I have done it a lot. Have fun and do it. Sandy
