  1. Question for the winner

What were your emotions waiting to for the winner to announced? How did you pass the time? Now that you won the HGTV Dream home do you think the wait to get the keys to the house is going to be easier or harder to bear? How do you plan to spend your time until you get the keys?

  2. I would ask myself this question…."How do I tell my boss that I no longer work anymore?'

  5. If I were to win this home – I would have the place totally decked out for a huge party – have my screenwriter friends from all over the world fly in – and have HGTV broadcast the whole thing!

  6. Congrats and I'm jealous! How many times did you enter and was it online or by mail? Will you make the Dream Home your permanent home or just a vacation place?

  8. First I would say, "Congratulations is in order". Second, as an avid viewer of HGTV with an immense interest in design, I would ask "What feature of your new home do you find most appealing, and do you have any ideas on how you would add a personal touch of your own to this already beautiful home?

Ann Marie on March 2, 2010 at 9:50 pm
  9. My question is: What will be the first activity you do in beautiful New Mexico? As a native New Mexican (who would live in that home if we won), I want to know that the winner will actually live there and explore the area! And when you move to New Mexico, you'll need to ask "red or green" (as in chili. . .)

  10. The dream house is so beauiful, I am retired and my wife has a medical disability we both love and are looking for a quiet place in Southwest Territory. We both love the elegancy of the San Pedro dream house. Our home is on the same level as the dream house 2010 and we live in Wisconsin. When looking to the south from the Casita Patio place has a wonderful scenic sighting to view the breath taking mountains and the evening skies. If we are the winner we will love living in this magnificence homestead for leisure and relaxation for the rest of our lifes. Yes we will relocate to Standia Park in New Mexico territory. We will cherish and love living our dreams in this dream house for 2010, how the Southwest was won!!!!!

  11. I would ask myself, …….. Are you ready to move by April!!! The answer would be yes!!!!!!!!!!!

  12. I would ask them, how did they enter and how many times did they enter? For the 2011 home, just incase i don't win this year. Also if you ever need a house sitter, I'm available.

  13. The thing that I think about most is how winning would change my life, so that is my question, "How will winning the HDTV Dream Home change your life?"

Lani on March 3, 2010 at 6:46 am
  14. I can't think of anything, because I would love to be the one they are asking that question .But if I weren't I would say congrats and can I come and visit you!!!!.

  15. What did you think when you first signed up for the HGTV Dream Home 2010?

Karlicia on March 3, 2010 at 3:42 pm
  16. My question would be: As a new winner, How will you go about the responsibilities of paying the taxes on house, vehicle and any other required dollars needed for taking possession of this beautiful home and land? This is a viable question as I perceive it to be because there are those who win "Big" in contests but are not able to pay large : "sums" of dollars towards their winnings. I entered this contest almost every day since it began. I am interested as to how to address the above issues. Very important to me. I love the Dream Home area and have visited there many times. A very peaceful and friendly place for a relaxing vacation home. As a "Baby-Boomer Senior" and empty "nestor" couple, it would give me great peace to own this home to get away from urban life.

  17. I hope that HGTV keeps a copy of all these blogs and replies because if I won the DreamHome I would want them as a keepsake. I would also want to frame and hang the architect's drawing that I saw somewhere on the site. I thought it was beautiful and deserving a place in the home. For me anyway.

    Good Luck Everyone!

  26. Question to the winner: What is your favorite design feature or accessory of the 2010 Dream Home? (The one you can’t wait to see in person.)

    redrobin96 on March 4, 2010 at 10:14 am
  27. I am extremely hopeful! My husband, my son and I have been dreaming for a long time now to move to the West. But unfortunately the economy is not helping and I just lost my job a couple of weeks ago. We love and enjoy the outdoors, specially the mountains, hiking through nature trails and enjoying all the wonderful things of life. I wish luck to everyone out there that are dreaming of wining this amazing house for the opportunity of better begining.

  28. The question I would ask is: How many times did you enter through, email or mail in.? And What is the most exciting part of the winnings? The Dream Home, the Money, or the Vehicle? And what is your favorite HGTV show on TV right now?

  30. I so so so hope it’s me! Last night I went to take a test so that I could be temp. employed by the Census, just to earn a little extra money, and the guy giving the test never even showed up! So what did I do?!?! I went and wasted some money and bought some lottery tickets! That was sure smart… But maybe, just maybe, I didn’t need to do that because the dream home will be mine! It would be a dream come true! Oh I so hope it’s me!!!

steveandjulier on March 4, 2010 at 11:45 am
  31. What was your first thought and emotion when you saw them at your door?
How will it change your life from your present situation?
When you first look at the mesa can you see the heavenly sky touching the earth?

Carol Morris on March 4, 2010 at 6:56 pm
  32. My question is have you looked to the west to see the mountains or have you seen the balloons rise over the city early some morning. Will you visit the mountain to the west to see the early native drawing? Will you ride the tram to the top of Sandi just to the east of your new home? I have missed all of these things and would love to have the opportunity to see them again. I would be so blessed to win!

Martha Brown on March 4, 2010 at 7:05 pm
  33. Have you ever won anything before? Did you really belive it was true when they told you you had won or did you think it was a hoax.

Julia Dunlap on March 4, 2010 at 7:07 pm
  34. 1) Would you live in it?.. As for myself, I think we would have two addresses for a while until our kids are out of school (a few more years) It would be a great home away from home!.. 2)How many times did you enter?… Everyday online for a month 3) What’s your favorite HGTV show?.. House Hunters and HH INternational 4) Do you have any pets you will bring? Yes a Bichon Frize 5) How will it impact your lives? We will have peace of mind for our future and enjoy the new experiences and cultures that surround New Mexico! :)

  35. I would ask the following question of the HGTV 2010 winner. Should I sleep late the first morning after moving in or will I stay up all night just looking at everything in disbelief?

Bill Whatley on March 4, 2010 at 9:28 pm
  36. I would ask the winner: What is the first room you viewed when you opened the door to your dream home?

Suzanne on March 5, 2010 at 1:13 am
  37. If I win the home, it will change my life dramatically. My husband has been out of work for 17 months and the strain of not being able to find a job is starting to wear down. When this home will take the stress off of knowing that you are not about to lose your house and be homeless. It will be a new start for my family. I will enjoy all scenic views and I am hoping to be able to walk those trails to lose some needed weight. Yes my family and I will be moving into the home, but not until June. My husband will move up there first while I am trying to sell our house here in Texas and wait for my kids to finish the school year.

Christy on March 5, 2010 at 9:01 am
  38. Instead of asking questions that make people feel dumbfounded and say: overwhelmed, It would be nice if they brought a gift of a special high back chair that is like one in the dream home and table with flowers and gifts to go with the announcement. Set that person down and give them gifts maybe a framed plaque with a picture of the dreamhome on it that says they won so they had something of reality to have and hold and comprehend. Give them a check for traveling expenses to go to the site and use of the new GMC to get there. Now that would be a winning experience.

ChristineMHosie on March 5, 2010 at 11:57 am
  39. I would have to ask — I have dreamed of walking through the home. Can I come visit? :)

  41. Yeah, I think the only type wall would be one of the adobe walls around the patio area. If I can't at least have this, I'd have to take the cash option because my dogs & their safety come first. I know there's a house for sale in that community that has one so I'm not worried about that. Besides can you imagine the expense of putting up a nice classy fency or wall around 3 acres or if someone put up some ugly chainlink fence all the way around.

  42. I've only had the pleasure too of visiting NM but have wanted to live here LONG before my 1st visit. I lived in NC & wanted to find out as much about NM as I could so by some miracle I found a copy of New Mexico magazine in a book store & bought it. I say a miracle because when I went back the next month & couldn't find another issue so I asked the manager about it & he said they had never carried that one. So, I subscribed to it through the mail. I love that magazine & still to this day subscribe to it. Still isn't the same as experiencing it yourself tough. I cried the very 1st time I ever went & cry every time I have to leave.

Teresa Sousa on March 6, 2010 at 6:25 am
  43. I agree. Wouldn't it be so much better if when we all looked at each other, if we could see what's inside their heart vs their outer appearance?

Teresa Sousa on March 6, 2010 at 6:44 am
  44. Would you please rent just me the Casita for a week or two or three?

Roderick Jones on March 6, 2010 at 12:52 pm

Michelle on March 9, 2010 at 2:47 pm
