And the Winner Is…

Today the folks at HGTV congregated at a local fulfillment house to select the winner of HGTV Dream Home 2010. Our president, Jim Samples, was on hand to chose the winning entry and read a thoughtful Christmas card from our 2009 winners (let’s just say they are doing well and are incredibly happy).
Could you be the lucky one? I honestly don’t even know the name or location of the winner. I cannot wait to watch the giveaway show on March 15 at 8 p.m. Anyone planning a dinner party? If so, don’t forget to serve our signature Dream Home margaritas.

It's been so much fun thinking about how exciting it would be to win this home. I didn't realize that tomorrow night is the big night. I looked around my house at how the grandkids had trashed it, and quickly started cleaning, so at least I'll have a clean house if I'm not the winner. I imagine there are millions doing the same.
Guys and Gals, don't let your dreams stop here! There is still a chance for the Green Home and not to mention many more Dream Homes to come I'm sure. Keep dreaming and take it one day at a time! Live each day to the fullest , Laugh often, and Love every minute of it!

Does anyone know if the winner will be notified before the show is aired or if they are announcing it to the winner for the first time on the show?
its anybodys guess. HGTV has done it differently each time. THE BIG QUESTION: How do they know (HGTV)? if the winner is not notified ahead of time to be sure they are home. Nobody has ever been able to answer that question.
Will you still trust in him after tomorrow night? We are all children of God, will he answer your prayer and not mine? uhm…… something to ponder.
I hope I win, I’m 30 with 4 kids and I have cancer! – need a house and that money to help me get better! I pray to god this is for me! I’m sure everyone deserves it though! God bless everyone

We are hoping it is us also. We have family in New Mexico who would be so excited to have us closer. That house is perfect for us. We have grandkids that would love the playhouse, and a 9 year old that would love that kids room and 14 year old who would love to make that guest room her own. We are all excited and anxiouse to see who is the winner. good luck to all and if I win everyone is invited to the part, I need help cooking and preparing lol.

nobody really knows yet, its all speculation,, some say yes, some say no.

I can't believe the BIG DAY is finally upon us. I have been telling my husband since day one that I was going to win this BEAUTIFUL 2010 Dream Home for us. I have taken the virtual tour so many times I already feel at home.

Congratulations to the winner!!! I loved dreaming that this house was meant for our family! My husband relocated here to Buffalo, and we would've loved to move back to his family and friends!! The mountains are something you never get over once you leave them

God dose know how much I dream of owning my own home and being free from renting and all the limitations the comes with that. I've never been married and yet put myself through college and raised two families buy myself. My granddaughter is 15 and has been with me for 14yrs. Maybe some day soon the bells will ring and it will be my turn….guess I'll go buy a lottery ticket . Never never give up hope!!!

Hello and good luck to all that entered. I had a really emotional day today. Just upset about how somethings are in my life. I’ve been praying as well. This home could really make a 360 change in every aspect of my life. For so long all I’ve been wanting is a home to call my own. I’m so tired of struggling! I’m sure many of you are going through the same life issues as I am. Even if I don’t win I know I can’t give up. Only one will win and if its not you, don’t give up on your goals and keep GOD in your life. It will get better!

Wow, what a day to Air the Big Winner! 30 mph wind and blowing snow!! I-40 travel is not so good. Wonder if they still just go on with it or postpone it for the weather?

Car just broke down, wife out looking for work, and our lease ends this month with no other option in sight….We've been glued to the screen watching the videos/pics/blogs for ages now. I have my fingers, legs, toes, arms, all of it crossed in hopes of some good luck!!!!! In any case I wish the winner (whoever it may be) the best of luck and the happiest life in their new home. What HGTV is just mean. They chose the winner weeks ago. they have been notified and filmed. What you see on Monday night is just that film,. If you haven't been notified by now you didn't win! They want you to watch so they are not telling you the truth. You will notice that the girl driving around looking for the winner it was pitch dark. But it was still lite outside. (live in same time zone). this was filmed days before and then showed on Monday nite. What a terrible thing to do to people. People waiting, painting, getting hair done today for something already decided.
I agree, they keep people coming back here and checking for almost 2 months by allowing entries evry day. They really only need to have one per person, but then people wouldn't be coming here everyday and their numbers wouldn't be nearly as good. I think they just really cuse a lot of sadness for some that just hope for such a long period of time. like I said, if it was just one entry per person, it would be so much less vested in the contest. But, hgtv would have less people running to view their prize. One that's pretty much just that, a dream. sad to say, but true.

The 2010 DH is going to be a hard act for the 2011 DH team to follow. But then again maybe I'm just a little biased because I so love the high desert country. What a life-changing journey this winner is about to embark upon. I wish them a world of happy experiences and memories.

That's usually how these givaways work. If you notice, most of the winners are pretty well off to begin with. You never hear of any that were unemployed or living in a rental or something like that. it just doesn't happen. I doubt I will even watch the show. I think it would be good for them to have their viewers down instead of sky high with people who still think they have a chance. I'm sure the winner has known for quite a while. Don't think I'm trying to be mean, please, I just havt to look at it realistic. I wonder if they don't actually know who the winner will be before they pick. As in someone they know or something. Well, God Bless everyone here. Maybe not this, but hopefully somewhere else.
