My Grand Children will love the Play House! What Memories!
I have grandkids also. My grand daughters are always playing princesses and so on. One of their bedrooms at home is decorated with Alice in wonderland, so can you imagine how crazy they would go out on playing in the Play House!!!
we just started a family and it would be sooo fun to play in the house myself with our son and possible future little girl! I'm a kid at heart always, though!
It's all subjective, what do I have planned?
Have a great day as well, TGIF!
Thanks fot the 'great day' message, PFG! The same to ya.
I'd use the Playhouse for storage myself (no kids).
Good Day! Good Luck bloggers, it's been fun!
The very last TGIF until the winner
is announced of the DH2010!
Hope they're ready for the new ride
to be received all too soon!
It's not me, but maybe, it's you!
My 5 and 6 year old would love …love…love it.
Wow – I've never posted within minutes of a new blog…
Today I am excited again that I might be the winner but yesterday I was bummed.
I'm thrilled about the new Alice in Wonderland movie out – I just love Johnny Depp. The playhouse would be FAB even though we don't have kids yet… Winning this house could help us make that dream a reality too! How cool is this playhouse? I wish Johnny Depp would be hiding inside to greet us when we arrive at our new home.
If you're out there Johnny, you are welcome to come visit and I'll give you a little pill to make you small so you can live and play in the playhouse when you visit.
LOL! Wouldn't that be awesome to have Johnny Depp be waiting in the playhouse when you opened the door. Heck! That would be another dream come true….another JD fan here.
Are you really sure you want him to be small? Sorry I couldn't resist. haha
Small when he's in the playhouse…but then I'd give him the big pill when it was time to come back in and be with the grown-ups (he he).
Heritage Seeker you are to funny, that was a good one!!! Had agood laugh really nedded that , thanks.
If I'm fortunate enough to win, I won't make you have tea outside in the playhouse. I'll make you a cup and let you stay inside the house.
Mary, it is a great space with a great location, in a GREAT home!!!!
Hi Gail, thanks for the info on the Play House. What a great way to entertain visiting children. They will love it! So will I.
Thanks for being a fantastic Super Fan! You have certainly set super high standards for all who will follow you.
I still would love to believe they are going to ambush a blogger, but when another day goes by, it makes me think they have already notified the winner. What are your thoughts. You sound like you travel as much as I do and maybe wouldn't even be home. How do they do that?
Hi Carole Ann. Please know that this is my personal opinion: I believe the winner will be notified between today and Monday or Tuesday at the latest. My desire is for a blogger to win, even though I know that all who entered have the same opportunity to win.
As for HGTV tracking down and surprising the winner, I'm sure their sleuths are as capable as the super sleuths on this blog. The winner need not worry because she or he will be found! If I say anything else, I may start lying beause I do have a good imagination.
Lessie, It's nice to 'see' you again! that other blog format was too dull and boring.
You're absolutely right, H_S. The other format was boring! Definitely couldn't hold my interest for long.
Play area for my 11-yr-old son & somewhere to keep ALL of his toys out of my house. I seriously don't think he'll be having any tea parties in there though…lol. Yall can have tea inside with me or on the patio.
Your coimment makes sense to me, Teresa. Wouldn't it be nice if you could host tea parties for your guests! They would love it.
Lessie, where have you gone? Not used to not seeing you post anything, hope you are well !
Lessie- hope the travels continue to go well…of course I agree with both your original comments and your responses. As for HGTV finding our great Ms. Lessie if she is the winner…I have no doubt that they will be able to uncover enough of her trail to find her…not to mention for part of her travels she posted her husband was still at home. Ms. Lessie is one of those people whom if it can't be me then I hope it is her and I think it would be kind of cool if HGTV ambushed her somewhere her travels ;o)
My other reason for posting Ms. Lessie is that if you win my 10 year old would love a tour of that playroom (as well as looking at the rest of the house)…she is begging to also become a junior blogger on here, but so far mommy has put the brakes on that.
Wishing you safe travels back home…and I think I owe you a cup of coffee or something of your choosing once you get back here ;o)
I don't think that too many have thought of keeping the playhouse for their visiting youngsters… Good Point! My son is too old for the playhouse as is. We would need to come up with a redesign…. Plus, he is full of energy, we would need to add a lot of climbing, swinging, etc..
Thanks Mary! I'm just glad we do not have to fall down a hole to get there! Tea party anyone? or maybe horchata?
That's funny!
LMHO…As clumsy as I am, I'm glad no holes involved either. I do enough falling on my own.
The playhouse is darling! And, since we do not have little ones, love the idea of either using it for visiting children or storage. Let's face it, when a child goes to visit an adult couple with their parents, it can be the most boring time of their lives (no games, crayons, wii, etc.). But, we always make certain to have something for them to play with (okay, so we play the wii all the time… just big kids). To have the playhouse for visiting children would be the icing on the cake!
By the way, I noticed how beautifully built it is. I wouldn't be surprised if it needs its own deed!
There are some Disney wii games that you may be able to pick up used for cheap somewhere in case a child visits…just an idea for cold days ;o) I know that we have a trivia one that was only $19 regular price.
Really… would love to know the name of that trivia game! A trivia game is one that all ages love to play.
We do have the new Toy Story wii game (not sure if you have the Toy Story ride at your Disney), so we have one Disney wii game. But, must say, it's not as fun as we expected.
Disney's Think Fast…I got it at Toys R Us…I don't even think that I paid the full price of $19.99 for it…they have buy one get one half off sales often. We have the toy story one too…we were disappointed on the 3D aspect of it. My daughter got it for Christmas and played it some but it has made it to the bottom of the pile…though she usually does rounds so it may resurface again soon…it beats waiting for an hour in line for the ride at WDW though ;o) I know- it's not the same.
Toy Story has become my favorite ride! Yes, the wait is so darn long. One day we had a Disney employee come up to us (back when they were awarding prizes and fast passes to random guests) and granted us a fast pass! We felt so lucky, since it was just the two of us there with no kids. Maybe they realize that even we adults turn into kids at Disney. Normally, it is a loooooonnnnnngggggg wait.
Thanks for the info on the game. We will be picking it up.
Both times that we went to Disney World, we rode it on our last day and we made sure that we were there before the park opened (the first time with resort extra magic hours)…rushed to the ride- I took the girls and rushed while my husband stood in the bag check line and then met us. Even with that we still stood in line for 45 minutes to an hour each time. I couldn't imagine going later in the day.
That play house looks cool, we are expecting and think that our kid might enjoy it in the future, I hope we will win!!!
Thanks for the new video Gail! Although, I was hoping for your final video to be the "choosing of the winner 2010" –whether it was a mail-in or email entry. Oh well, just adds to the mystery.
I have a question for everyone:
How many PEOPLE do you think entered? I'm not referring to the number of ENTRIES, because we all know it's 40M plus. Some of us entered everyday on-line, some of us only a few, some sent in mail-ins as well, some none at all.
Just curious…
850,000?
Yes, I agree with you, Wyo_Girl, and Heritage_Seeker. I think the number is somewhere between 850,000 and 1.5M, which when I thought about it after doing all the estimates and the math, I was kind of shocked. I just figure more people out there would be excited about this and would want to enter. Not that I want any MORE people to try, mind you…
Thanks for the feedback!
Oh…also melissa_again for your estimate!
I think I entered every day on-line except the first week–because that's when I found out about it and I only entered via on-line. I'm outta luck if they pick a mailed-in entry. I'm keeping an eye out for any suspicious-type people to ambush me. I'm so excited for the winner! You know I'll be watching HGTV on the 15th.
Every time my dogs start barking, I go to look out the front window. I hope it wasn't a mailin entry either or I'm outta luck too. I better put them outside or another room before I open the door or they will make sure they are the center of attraction & they did not make one single entry.
OK, even subtracting the mail-ins, which is less than a million and doesn't have a limit, the maximum times a person could enter online would be 46. I'm sure that's not the norm, but that would make it nearly a million people right there. My guess is at least 1.5 to 2 million people entered, if not more. Daunting, isn't it?
VERY DAUNTING !!!!! Wow! How could I ever think I (out of 2 million people) could ever win ?! But, yet, I do… There's always that one chance? I mean, someONE has to win. Might as well be ME! I know everyone has that same wish…
Online was 50 (Jan = 31 + Feb = 19). I remember the countdown clock on New Years Day read 50 days…..
But it was one per e- mail address– so folks with more e- mail addresses could've entered more times!
To think I could have signed up for several email addresses and entered several times a day?! Actually, that doesn't sound legal according to the sweepstakes rules!? Does anybody know the answer?
From the rules,
"…online entry form (limit one (1) online entry, per valid email address, per eligible person per day);…."
There's the, "per eligible person" part that would disqualify multiple entries from one person!
one email address per person per address….if you have numerous people in your household with email addresses, you could enter them, but you could not enter yourself with different email addresses
You're right — I was too lazy to go back and see when the last day was, so I guessed the 15th. Silly forgetful me. It doesn't change the math that much, though, does it?
No big deal. There's no way we can calculate the actual number anyway. I wasn't being critical. My problem, is having spent too many years needing to be accurate. Further down, I read someone's post using '46' to do some sort of 'freaky' math that meant nothing anyway.
Furter to my last, It's like the DH address (87 vs. 117) thing.
I'm just hoping my chance of winning is alot better than they have been with the lottery.
im with you on that one. Well It would certainly be nice if i win but Congrats to whoever wins it looks like a spectacular home….Good luck to all.
By my count, we could enter 50 times online (Jan = 31, Feb = 19). I entered everyday.
Some people sent in 100's of mail-ins. I sent none.
There is not enough information to do a good estimate, so a guess will have to do.
Perhaps 1 million different people (???)
Very overwhelming!
Heritage Seeker – just curious – are you male or female? I imagine it's probably obvious in some of the blogging conversations, but I've not been able to spend too much time online to catch that – busy, busy!!
Also curious about whether you are seeking to find out more about your own heritage or do you help others find theirs, perhaps or possibly you simply embrace your own? Any which way, I take it you are a type of 'spiritual leader' – am I way off??
Wow, we haven't even had our first date yet!!!
I'm just a guy who gets his spiritual inspiration from gazing at the stars, from being 'in-tune' with the wind & waves while sailing well offshore, and from glorious sunrises & susets!
Our common 'Heritage' can be found in all those things. I'm a 'Seeker' of dreams and a restful soul.
No, No, I'm a happily married woman – I was just curious about you with a screen name that sounds so meaningful. I am a fairly peaceful soul myself and have a 'yet to be identifed' Indian background (1/8 Cherokee according to my mother), and wonder if my calmness and appreciation for nature and rugged beauty comes from this 'heritage'. The sun and wind on my face, the stars… I am just motivated by these things. They sustain me and are more valuable than anything material. Anyway, your screen name caught my eye the first time I signed on. I am a hopeless optimist but truthfully, most often too realistic to gamble or enter contests. This home happens to be in NM, however, where my mother and siblings moved many years ago. Best to you, I wish you contentment regardless of the outcome – A spiritual aquaintance.
Okay, I should have put a "hahaha" after my, "Wow, we haven't even had our first date yet!!!"
I was just kidding!
Sometimes it's hard to answer personal questions, in a public forum, to a relative stranger.
And how old are you, if you don't mind? You're hard to pin.
I'm old enough to be eligible to enter this sweepstakes.
Good mornin'
Apologies for hitting you up with a personal question in this public forum – that was pretty open ended and unrelated to the contest… then again – the screen name was catchy and thought evoking…
I also should have put a "haha" with my reply – but honestly I did want my hubby to know that I wasn't making a love connection as he watched over my shoulder – he doesn't trust this "e-world" much.
Enjoy the stars and do visit Sun Spot NM if you get the chance – ahhhmazing star gazing and observatory!! – Rhonda : )
Wow, HS, you're really getting grilled today. Do you think these questioners are really posing as bloggers and are actually with HGTV? Maybe they are trying to determine if you are eligible for the Dream Home!
~~chuckle~~
I doubt it. It started with one person wanting personal info, then the 'bandwagon effect' kicked-in with another.
Apologies for any offense by asking for 'personal info'
Hubby just wanted to know who I was talking to before we sought advice from a potential heritage seeker.
Please, no apologies necessary.
RE: Heritage — I ride a Harley-Davidson HERITAGE Softail Classic.
RE: Seeker — I'm SEEKing the dream of this fabulous Dream Home.
Hey H_S I think Rhonda S was maybe feeling like alot of us , we appreciate and respect your thoughts H_S , and I do know it's for safety reasons that we need to be careful with personal information, but, it's comforting to meet people, like you, that has a special appreciation for the Gifts that's been given to us to enjoy so much , but , they also sustain our life as well ,so many times these precious things are taken for granted, the sun , moon , water, the earth. I think we all do love these marvels, but, it's just so good to find people like you that really has a deep love and respect for them . >>>>>>….. On another thought too, do you find it difficult to comment sometimes, when you don't know if you are talking to a woman or man ?
You are too kind, AliB!
Sometimes I do find it difficult to comment, but not often.
words spoken with true wisdom…….lol….there ya go….keep em guessing………sounds like your a true native american?????you are soooo right……
46+46 possibly multiply by number of entries however many there were or is divided by number of entries and that could be how many people entered. can they enter both mail in and online on the same day ?????
Yes. Entries can be both postal mail and online.
could have been 1,000.000. one time entries or 2,000.000
I mailed only 1,033 this year and entered almost every day online. I am just curious if a mailed in entry has ever won, I don't think it has
But at least we are keeping the Post Office employees busy enough that hopefully postage rates won't go up again next year! There are some of us that Live and Breathe this Dream Home, but the winner always seems to be someone who entered only a few times and didn't care if they won or not….and the winner always seems to already have a nice home. Pretty strange, huh?
Holy Moly !!!!! Over a thousand mail-ins?? That's impressive, Yes, I think you're right, no mail-in has won. Maybe this year?
And yes, it does seem like a lot of the previous winners have had a lax attitude about the whole thing.
AlaskaHGTVFan, like you, I don't think a mail-in entry has ever won. As for the" winner already having a nice home, only entering a few times, and not caring if they won or not" – that's ok with me, especially since this is a sweepstakes. The computer only responds to instructions. Therefore the process is neutral. If you were the recipient of this wonderful Dream Home, you wouldn't have a problem with the selection process. Neither would I. As long as we all have the same opportunity to win, I'm okay with it – regardless of how much or how little the winner has.
Can't wait to see who wins the 2010 Dream Home! I'll be happy and rejoice with them and I'd want them to do the same for me.
Lessie, you are a shining light every time you post! I love your attitude.
I entered the whole what? 50 times on line never missing a day, and mail ins around 1aday I mailed in.
I e-mailed every day and sent in 1300 mail in entries. Crazy? Yes. : )
Holy cow, are you serious?? You are an expert at this it seems! Dog-gone it, I wish I had thought of that! My weapon was prayer…I thought I was doing well with just entering every day on website! My parents live in Edgewood, NM, we just had a baby (only grandson), and would LOVE to live close to them during this time in his life. Sigh….
Hello! This is my first time in here and I am so excited like everyone else…however, at this point I'm sure someone else is chosen and I am so bummed. Been praying for a long time, but no one has come to my door step. I believe there are much less people than entries, don't you think?
she talked about the tea party's her daughter would throw let me tell you i have six daughter's
ages 1yr 4yr 5yr 6yr 9 and 10yr they could throw a crazy tea partys in there. i can see all there dress up dresses all over the place well at least they would have a place outside the house i love this house
it has somthing for everyone .
The play house would serve so many great purposes! A great get away for the kids-a place for little minds to get creative, storage, a great crafting room, perfect dark room, hobby room, the list could go on and on! The lucky winner will truly enjoy the benefits of the dream home as well as a little dream for someone else! Best of luck to everyone! The Land of Enchantment awaits……
I thought would be a wonderful place for storage but then just to get my son's gazillion toys out of my house, it can stay a play home. I told him once he became a teenager, I was claiming it & he said no because it will then be his hangout for him & his friends. I hope it's not a crew like those 70 something kids, haha.
geez, I meant that 70's Show….see how excited I am about hopefully winning.
cool, the quotes are gone and the blog look's back to normal.
1st of all I love kids! I have 2 grandchildren and possibly more comming in the future. A thought, but I was thinking of opening up a daycare, using my new S.U.V. to pick kids up in ….. They would love what I could do to the garage and the play house would be a big bonus!!! I'm still dreaming……. It would all be so wonderful!!!!
My husband has already told me I can have the whole house but the garage & patio are his domain.
Debbie, I don't want to crush any dreams you have of a daycare, but the association might not allow it in thier gated community.
Oh well , as I said its just a thought,If that can't happen, I can live without a daycare, but I'm sure its o.k. to babysit!
iI dont get on the blog much, but wanted to say good luck everyone.
Thanks. You too!!!
man these is very exciting for me, wife and two kids…we think about it every day and talk about what we would do. Can not wait to see if we won!
Thankyou Gail for posting, I would love to own the play room. It's been such a long time since I'v seen Alice in wonderland, I really want to wait and see it in the home theater room. Although I am tempted to go see it at the town movie theater. I can only imagine the brilliant colors in the play house, one day my grandchildren will love playing in there. Alice is timeless so my great great grand children will love the play house too. I don't plan on changing anything, it will stay a play house. I plan to be the first person to have tea and cookies in the play house, only wish my name was Alice. Of coarse I will get my hands on a cheshire cat even if he is stuffed animal.
I love tea time too & have two cats but no cheshire…tuxedos.
Teresa thankyou for posting. I don't have any cats just to dogs. My family is allergic to cats. Good Luck and God Bless you.
Kathy: I love the idea of having the kids watch a classic movie of Alice in Wonderland in the Home Theater, and then go out to the play house and write a script, collect costumes and props and present a performance for the adults on the patio. With the part of the Mad Hatter played by the biggest "ham". Tea, anyone? My Grandkids would love doing it!
Katydid, thankyou for posting. I like going back to my comments and seeing if anyone answered.
I'm nervous, and excited, Good Luck and God bless you and all the bloggers.
Thanks for sharing the info on how Linda's carpenter created the play home artwork from frames of the cartoon. That's a cool idea that could work for any other favorite theme…
It's a great idea to put the playhouse next to the outdoor lounging area. It's an even better idea to return to this blog format. Hooray! All is right in HGTV world.
Wyo: I so agree. All is right, and thanks HGTV.
Wyo_Girl, ThankYou for answering my blog way back when we first started. The Dream Home is Jaw dropping AW- mirizing. Good Luck and I hope one of us bloggers Win. Maybe tomorrow. Keep DREAMING BIG.
i personally dont have any kids but i know plenty of kids who would love it when they visit..and then soon ill have my own to enjoy it..this is the perfect home for my fiance' and i to start our life together..thanks HGTV.the best of wishes to everyone..im so excited cant wait..Whoot Whoot!!!!
Is there a video / pictures of the Playhouse? Where do I go to see the Playhouse?
Go to the Back Patio Photos and see photos 6, 7 & 8
Try the blog, While We Wait, I think that is the blog that takes you through the playhouse with Gail.
There are a few pics on the tour layout.
My 2 year old talks about this playhouse in her prayers. She will just have a ball in there! Patiently waiting… God Bless! Great Job Super Fan
My 5 & 8 year old kids would probably never leave that little "home of their own".
LOVE that it's so close to the outdoor kitchen. Great job HGTV builder/designers
Love the little play house and the adult sitting area. I know that my grand kids would love to play here. Fingers crossed.
Good luck
Day by day by day…………………………. soon.
Yes, I fresh new blog! Thanks HGTV for more on the playhouse. My daughter is 13 (and 3/4 she would say). She might use it for a while, but I know my mother-in-law could use it for her art work when she is visiting.
Here are the winners of the Silestone contest to tour the Dream Home with Jack.
Matthew B., Brodheadsville, PA
Cinda R., Webster, TX
Samantha K., Riverdale, NY
Sandra A., Little Falls, NJ
Deborah H., Savannah, GA
Thanks for the update, Connie. Gee, no one from my neck of the woods won. Guess that means I'll have to win the Dream Home in order to get my tour with Jack, Linda, Monica, Gail, Mary, and others in addition to meeting my other HGTV super heros and fellow bloggers!
Thanks for sharing, Connie!
Well one more thing to scratch off my 'hope for' list.
Again – anyone heard anything about Monica's Wrap? Do you think they could be giving it to the winner instead and using that as their gimmick when you first open the door?
only if the winner won it 2 and they couldn't have known that by the wrap drawing date
it would be nice if they would tell us the winner.
I can not wait for my 6 month old Finn to play there……. I'm waiting ….ha ha.
That little play home does sound so sweet, thanks for the update!
I like the Idea that its right next to the BBQ pit and Chairs that way when our kids play back there we would always know were there at.
I have Prayed hard that God would Bless us with this and I'm Trying to stay positive.
Good luck Again to all.
Another 10 days to here who the real winner is!!! I hope I'm the 1 who finds out before hand!!!
Yes, I said 10 more days until we hear who the winner is……… I hope I'm the 1 who finds out before hand!!!
My son was standing here listening to your post, he has the biggest smile!!! I can see he is thinking of what he will do first in his playhouse. It is great that it is close to the outdoor area also! The whole family can enjoy this at the same time!! How fun!!! Thanks again for the very informative post. Hope to hear more about this beautiful Home soon!
WOW!! Good thing you were thinking to do another VLOG, GAIL!! Heck, I am just excited to have the blog postings back to normal….. Thanks for giving us your ideas on the Play House… My son has said "if we win, can we make it a two story"….hehehe…. of course replacing the artwork anything Johnny Depp…. Love life by living green and having a dream!!
What's the matter? Not a Johnny Depp Fan?
My son loves Johnny Depp… I meant replacing it with Johnny Depp artwork….. My son started acting, playing the guitar at age 4 because he loves him so much…
First Jamie, now Johnny? They both start with 'J'…….hmmm…….
This one is more for my son…… Jamie remains mine…hehehe…. Though, every time "Johnny's" yacht comes in where we live,,,,, I am peeking as much as Luca….. (my son)
Renee: I think somebody mis-read your post. Have you seen Tim Burton's (sp) version ot the classic story with Johnny Depp as the Mad Hatter? After having gone to the movie theater today and been blasted out of my seat by the sound, I've decided to wait until all the new movies are on DVD's so I can watch them in my home and control the sound.
You think you're excited about having the blog back to normal. I fell on my knees……….well, maybe too many toasts to HGTV.
Katydid…. We are going this weekend!!! TOO EXCITED…. we are going to the IMAX theater… I was afraid that you were upset at Coop and I on the GH blog… I must have misread your comment as, I have always enjoyed our conversations…… I am toasting tonight, hope that they don't show up with my tired eyes…hehehe….. Talk to you soon, bloggie!!
Too funny, Katydid!
Happy Happy Friday! Yes,I agree, the location of the playhouse is a great idea. I always wanted to see more of it. My daughter would love to put a little recording studio there to play her guitar and write songs (she's only written one short one). Also for the nieces and nephews to hang out in. Counting the days, as I'm sure so many of us are, and getting excited about it all. Good luck.
oh my grandkids will love the play house great grandson turns 2 tommorrow,my grandaughter turns 15 months old on the 10th an got a grandson due on may 10th,i am so excited because my other grandkids ar 19,18,15, i love having them different ages, they want grandma to win to.want to spend summer with us it would be great,so i love the play house.
Can't wait. Waiting with excitement. By the way, Gail thank you for all you do and keeping everyone so inform. It is fun to read you blogs. Again, thank you.
My 4, 2, and 1 year olds would love the playhouse.
So what whats the census? Do they really ambush the winner on the 14th or 15th, or sooner and just air it then? should I even be ancy right now if they are not coming to anyone for a couple more days?
Oh and my twin 2 year old girls and whatever this baby I am prego w/ will love the play house. The home is great for all ages. I think the really wonderful part for kids is all that land around the house to run around on!
Popular thought is that they ambush around the 8th or 9th so they can get everything filmed and edited by the airing on the 15th. Last year, the winner was watching a TV show on Monday night when they ambushed her.
Only way they can ambush me on Monday night & catch me watching the show is if it is a different time than 24 but then again, that's what dvr is for, right? I'll be on vacation in Alto, NM, so hope they come there to look for me if it's either 14th or 15th. My husband has loved having a clean house every day the past week & been making sure not to be hanging around the house in my old jammies.
I dont have any little kids my sons are 31 & 26 no grandkids yet . But I would love to play in It.
Gail & Mary, thanks for the video and new pages!
One thing about the waiting period, my home gets a little neater & cleaner each day!!!
Funny how something as simple as a $2 million Dream Home Sweepstakes can make us take a more critical look at our surroundings! I even got a haircut today (earlier than my usual) just in case, but I told Show Me to cancel the window washer because it's supposed to rain over the weekend, so no use throwing money out the window (until I've cashed that $500,000 check.)
That reminds me — Windows, windows, I must wash windows!
By the way, you were nearly correct at ‘filling-in-the-blanks' last night. Please substitute “above” in place of “after.”
You & me both. All mine have cat & dog nose & paw prints on them.
Thanks, H_S. I actually caught that correction from your earier post and made a response, all for naught, as the tsunami of Intensedebate washed away all traces of our previous non-ID comments. As I'd mentioned in the previous response, I'll have to deduct a small sum from Show Me's wages for the error. Therefore, we now have: "It's because I had to delete a certain message that I made which was posted above the penultimate comment." Resolution has come to the lingering mystery of the DH blog at last.
Coop: Hey, you can't wash windows unless they are closed, and you can't throw money out the window unless they are open. Let Show Me take over. His sunny disposition will provide the rainbow.
At least I don't have to worry about cleaning. Good thing I'm not home. I'm just relaxing, chilling, and enjoying myself. So nice!
Did you get my note concerning the Lizard room? I wrote it during the weirded out phase of the blog. It's almost done, except for some silk and painted tropical foliage and covering the vanity bottom with rattaan. I'll figure out how to post a link to pictures so anyone interested can look. I plan to send pictures to Christopher Lowell (HGTV) as he started the whole project awhile back.
Enjoy your lovely down time in Texas. Next winter we are going down to Big Bend Nat. Pk. You have to get reservations a year in advance. I loved it so much in May of 2006.
Well, our place Was very neat and clean. Now the entry hall is a wreck because I have started the Lovely Tom on yet another project, rebuilding the entry closet to make it a display/bookcase. Stuff everywhere….but my poor little balloons are still on the front entry, shriveled up as they are from the cold. I can never remember such a cold winter in Florida, and friends in Maine are complaining of the warm, snowless winter…no safe ice fishing, or good snowshowing or cross country skiing. Oh well, can't please everyone. Enjoy your Oscar party.
Another project, huh — nice to stay busy!
Yeah, I looked on the Natl' Weather Service site the other day; and saw that we were well below normal for temps & above normal for rain.
Oscar party was good!
I hear you!
thanks so much for the video! and i can't wait to see who the winner is! i hope so much that its me and my family!!
This dream home is a "Dream home." That play house is so cool.
I cant wait anymore I have to know, Are they going to E-Mail us or will we get a phone call??? Is it this weekend??? That we find out if we won, I hope I hope, sorry Im en passant cant wait. If I dont hear any thing by this weekend then I know I dident win , sad so sad Anyway Congratulation to whoever WINS
The play house is so cute! Thanks gail for posting!!
So then there's still a chance!! if by monday no one hears anything then that means they must have already contacted the winner and then all we have left is to see the show on the 15th. Wow i sure hope they knock on my door soon! *crossing fingers*
My nieces and nephews will love it and grandchildren in a half-dozen years or so : ) !!! You have one of the coolest jobs in town, Gail – you lucky girl!
I agree with you that this was another well-thought detail so that relaxation is a part of the picture for the adults and to see the joy on the kids faces and the entertainment provided – so cool!
Hope it's us and hope to meet you someday. Thanks for keeping the excitement and representing HGTV so well!
Yeah, you don't have to worry about the kids inside trashing the house while you're entertaining outside.
No doubt and the other thing is – there does not appear to be an area for outdoor play for kids, so they really NEED someplace to play. And it's protected from the heat so they can play in there in all weather. Are there cameras in there, I wonder, or an intercom ? Also curious if there is a playground anywhere up in the gated community? Do you know?
Thank you Mary for the update. The play house is just adorable. My 5 year old would really love it.
Dreamin the Dream til the 14th
I wish that you guys could give hints on what region the winner might live in. This house would be so awesome to win
Yes, yes. I agree. Any clue would be so fun. But just a hint so we can still dreaming up til the very last minute. How about letting us know if it was a mail in or online entry. Then man/woman. Rather than give an exact state, how about a general region east, west, etc. Also, thank you for changing back to this blog format.
Yes! A clue would be great! Just a little clue…if I knew it was an online winner, I'd be even more excited!
I agree!! a tiny clue would be nice!!!! we'd all be super excited!!!!
We think it was a online winner due to seeing the President at the computer.
This is only my opinion, but I think they need to do the Ambush far enough in advance to give that person the '5 days' decision time as outlined in the rules.
If it were me, I'd say, "Where do I sign" right on the spot!!!
HS,
What decision? Whether to keep the house or sale?
According to the rules, "Potential Grand Prize Winner will be required to execute an affidavit of eligibility, a Non-Disclosure Agreement, and release of liability and publicity (where permitted by law), and return same, fully-executed, within five (5) days of date of issuance of prize notification."
I would 'affirm' that I am indeed, "eligible."
HS 2:42 PST 03/10 I posted this morning but I just tried to post at bottom of page 16 and it would not allow me to post. Do you think that the deed is done? I guess I'll try tonight again.
