  1. hi everyone, still holding our breath to see who is the winner. Has anyone went back and read the rules again. It says at their discrecion, they could decide to choose a number of elegible winners and have a show down drawing on the 15th, everyone has been concerned about an ambush, but it could be done the other way that is mentioned in the rules. I feel like maybe that is what they are going to do. Think about it, they could have another drum filled with drawn out names of several potential contestants and they could then notify all of them on the 14th and set up a satelite feed with all watching the program on the 15th and waiting for another drawing. Good luck to all and let me know what you think of this latest comment. Carol in Florida

    • You know Carol, when you think about it.. that make perfect sense! I think you have figured it out! Like everyone else….I'm still hopeful!!!

Cheryl on March 12, 2010 at 1:23 am
      • Yes, I have re-read the rules and I thought that too. Only, I thought that it also said the the winner would be ambushed on the 15th. or at least that's what I understood. Maybe that's wrong. They do it differently every year, so it's so confusing. I'll be really really happy for the winner though. Good luck to who ever may be blessed with these awesome gifts. Well, good luck to all and may God bless.

    • Can you imagine how bummed you would be if you were on a live television feed and it wasn't you that was picked, though? I'm not sure how many seconds it would take me to recover my shock..lol

    • Hrm! Very tricky those HGTV people!
I wish everything was the same so that we knew what to expect….but this way is WAY more exciting!
I'm so horrible….I'm one of those people that shakes Christmas presents, and (maybe), might have opened and rewrapped them……I don't do well with surprises! Just want to know what to expect!

Hopeful on March 12, 2010 at 2:09 am
      • Yeah. It lets' us all dream a little bit longer. This kind of reminds me of the snooze button on my alarm clock in the morning. Just give me five more minutes, please!! LOL!! Have great evening everyone. Good luck to you all.

Jackie on March 12, 2010 at 2:14 am

Nature lover on March 12, 2010 at 5:26 am
    • Lessie, it sounds like the location they are talking about is the NM Dream Home. But wouldn't this nights revealing show just be at the location of the winners current home since they don't see the home until the winners weekend show on April 30th? Also what do you think stealth manuevers would be?

      Michele with 1 L on March 12, 2010 at 7:52 am
      • Monday night's HGTV is about the Ambush only. We will see Jamie as he surprises the winner in his or her home or wherever he or she happens to be.

FYI: Most of the show will build our expectations to a feverish pitch and then let us down when they announce the winner's location. The final moments of the show reveal the winner. That's usually when people get angry or upset because the winner doesn't respond as they think he or she should. Why? They're desperately hoping and longing for the Dream Home. They assume that if they were the winner, they would be super appreciative. Therefore, if the winner doesn't respond as they think he or she should, the HGTV blog immediately reflects the emotions of unfulfilled dreams, personal distress, and a bleak reality for those who had hoped the Dream Home would be a way out of their present circumstances.

In the April HGTV show we will see the winner visiting the Dream Home. Now if a blogger wins, that will be the time for our bloggie bash! Are you getting ready for the Tina Turner/'Retha/Marvin Gaye Review?

Lessie on March 12, 2010 at 3:25 pm
        • Absolutely…. my son has been working with me on some dance moves……

reneelovesgreen on March 12, 2010 at 8:48 pm
    • OMG…. Do you think he heard my wishes? hehehe… So exciting!! WOW… I don't even have words for the first time….. IF I won, I think I would pass out looking at Jamie, or I would be a nervous wreck, getting tongue tied and trying to let my husband know that I do still love him, but we all have our "secret crushes"…. Though, for me, it is hard to keep anything secret!! BUT, the biggest thing is on Wednesday night, I had a laser facial done and my face is still red and a little swollen, not camera ready….. Though, it would help hide my excitement from Jamie…. "hey, Renee' your face is red…" "I know, it is from my laser treatment" "Oh, I thought that you were just excited" … "No, I am good" (while on the inside, I am saying…. he is talking to me,,,,, I think that he is flirting… is my husband looking at me, acting like a school girl…. oh, goodness Jamie is handsome…. wait, make sure that you are not staring… hehehe) !!! Thank you Lessie….. Thank you, my Friend!!!

reneelovesgreen on March 12, 2010 at 8:47 pm
      • Without a doubt he heard your wishes and answered them!!! At least you have a good excuse for your facial color if he appears at your door. Enjoy the fantasy!

Lessie on March 12, 2010 at 3:32 am
  8. Let me take a few minutes to tell you what this would mean for us…

    Where to begin???

My husband is an attorney. He quit his secure job at a firm to defend a young men, WRONGFULLY accused of murder. This was nearly two years ago and the case is still ongoing with no trial date in site. This has been a very difficult two years in everyway, but especially fianancially. With no insurance we had our third child, and now our house is in foreclosure.

In the past years my husband has also found and reconnected with his biological family. Some reside in the midwest, but two aunties and his grandparents whom we all met for the first time this past Christmas all reside in Alburquerque. We would LOVE to relocate to NM and form some strong family bond with our new family.

    God Bless you all

Anoushka on March 12, 2010 at 3:39 am
    • Wow! That would be a truely kismit moment if you won! Bringing your family back together! Good Luck Anoushka!

    • Anoushka, your story touches my heart … I sense your husband's passion and your family's strength during this time of struggle. I believe that God is listening and your prayers will be answered. May God bless you and your family with peace, security, faith, and understanding that this too shall pass. Much goodwill to you!

      Both_sides_now on March 12, 2010 at 6:44 am
    • Anoushka, Please thank you husband for sacrificing his own life to help this young man who was wrongfully accused of murder. God says in His Word that laying down ones life for another is the true proof of Love. And believe me, He knows what your husband has done and will bless you and provide for your needs. And if this Dream Home prize package is the way He wants to do that then thank Him. But if if not, thank Him for whatever way He provides for your needs.

    • Good Luck! As posted you appear to be struggling with this result you have here. I have to agree with you, this would be extremely hard to endure, & be thoroughly understand of how giving up all you are in job, & your livelihoods is helping other than causing more suffering needlessly? Basically, for me, I see a cost of more lives withering unreasonably. Helping, persistance and giving the aid to rectify a bad result, an unjust result, but to sacrifice self, spouse, family & all futures is too much of a gambe as it does not change the result does it? Prolificly, these cases as known take too many years & your kids maybe half or grown until it's resolved. Again, I got a hint you are troubled with this, so good luck to you as I hope you can work it out to being better than currently. Good Luck, really.

It is a wonderful and exciting dream to have. Although I have rarely blogged I have read many of yours. Kudos to all of you and my best wishes for all.
I will just keep trying, maybe one day I will actually win something. But for the one who does win, I wish the best of everything with much contentment. Please have some wonderful dreams everyone.. and remember many creations and many lives were built from dreams, and this would be a fabulous one to come true for anyone of us!

  23. The only way I am gonna win the Dream House is if the Lord Himself slips a paper with my name on it, in with the other entries. while the judges aren't looking. OMG! I CAN'T REMEMBER IF I ENTERED! I AM SO NERVOUS I AM BITING MY TOENAILS! I must have entered at least once. I have entered ever since the house in N. C. was built 'cause I wanted that one really bad. Well, actually, I have wanted every one since then, really bad. I do believe in miracles, I see them every day. God, I don't ask for much or a lot of frivilous things, but I sure do need this house, Lord. If it's Your will, I don't want it unless You think it's for the best. And if not me, I know You will pick someone who is just as deserving. We humbly bow to Your Will. Thank you.

  25. Good morning my fellow bloggers and thank you so much for the well wishes. I am feeling much better and right on time for Sunday nights ambush, lol

My 5 year old told me Mom your sick go to bed and when HGTV gets here I will let them in,lol I think she will be more disappointed if we don't win than I am. Next year when I enter I am not telling anyone. It has been a roller coaster for me I can't believe what I have put my children through. They are all so full of hope that I am concerned about how they will take it when we don't win. I won't put them through this next year it will be our little secrete. My 5 year old is a gymnast and she is already telling everyone at the gym that we might be moving to NM well her words are we are probably moving to NM. Bless her little heart.

Well have a great day. I read some negativity on here so chin up We are in the home stretch now so don't let nothing get you down.

    Keep Dreamin The Dream

    crazyinlove10 on March 12, 2010 at 3:57 pm
    • I know how you feel. Last year we got all excited about the green home in Fl. My daughters were telling people we may be moving etc… They were heart broken when we did not win. I was too. I told them that there are other people out there that really needed that house as much as we did.
Now they are excited about NM. I told them keep the faith.
Now I kinda don't tell a lot of people about the house. You know to avoid the gestures and eye rolling of like "your doing this again"?
I am excited about the prospect of winning though. It would be an awesome birthday present to me(my birthday is on the 16th.)
I hate all the negativity on here. I even had someone contact me on FB to see if I was a winner only to say good I am glad it is not you. They don't know who the winner is and I wouldn't tell 'em if I had won… especially due to the rules.
I am excited and wish everyone luck! There is still time to hope and dream of this Dream home.
I think they are going to ambush the person this year on a live feed. Not just say it is live like they did the Fl green home.
      Jennifer

Jennifer Wright Lazo on March 12, 2010 at 4:41 pm
      • Thank you Jennifer I know it can be hard keeping up the hope. I'm not sure if HGTV really knows what they put everyone through, especially the little ones. I can't imagine doing this for years, this is my first time. But I do plan on entering every year until I win or they stop building. That would be an awesome birthday for you, me too as my birthday is the 20th. I can't believe the nerve of the person on FB. I'm sorry I wish everyone much luck in this except for people like them. I think the negativity on here are from those who have not only given up but would be sore losers. I like everyone else will be disappointed if I don't win but I would truly be happy for the one who does win, especially if it is a fellow blogger. My prediction is that the ambush will be Sunday night. Now since I am new to all of this. What do you mean by a live feed? I wouldn't think the actual ambush couldn't be live because of all of the time differences. Like it will air in places at 5PM and some at 7PM and 8PM So actually the ones who see it later could read on the blog from someone who saw it earlier and they could tell the late viewers who won,lol

Well best of luck to you. Don't let anyone discourage you from your dream. And I hope you have a wonderful birthday!!!

        crazyinlove10 on March 12, 2010 at 6:31 pm
        • Well last year I thought it was suppose to be "live". Except in Florida the sun hadn't set yet and they kept going from house to the supposed live ambush. Well in Michigan the sun had already set and it looked like a weekend when they ambushed the family because in the town there were people everywhere in the background partying/clubbing.
My understanding is that when they do a live feed it is actually happening at that very hour. Not taped and formatted for viewing. Sunday night would be ideal for a a surprise ambush.
Thank you! I hope you have a wonderful birthday as well. If I win I will have a blogger party.

  27. CALL ME………………..DON'T BE AFRAID TO JUST CALL ME…………….I'LL BE AROUND SO JUST CALL ME!
I'm not in my own home right now so HGTV will have to hunt me down. My cell phone is always on my hip, so JUST CALL ME!

  28. HOW ABSOLUTELY ADORABLE THAT PLAY HOUSE IS!! My hubby will know not only where to find our little girl but also where to find his sweetheart… Still young at heart LOL!!!

Good luck to EVERYONE!!!

  30. My family and I love everything about this house! I won this house and was cooking in the kitchen for my husband and kids while they waited in the great room…and then I woke up! NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

Mayra on March 12, 2010 at 5:37 pm
    • Wouldn't that be wonderful?!! But, NO waking up….

  31. Just remember that it is not over until the fat lady sings! I am a fat lady and I just aint singing yet! Although my house is getting messy again, if they come it will just be au natural. The balloons are sagging but they are not coming off until after I sing. I haven't told anyone about the house or of my posts so my transition should be just great. I wish you all blessings on your heads and smile Sandy

    • I love your comment and reminds me of what my dad used to say with his fully operatic voice. Blessings to you dear SandyLA

  32. Hey Gail aka Super Fan! If I do win, I want my house tidy when I arrive! And, if I don't win…how can I get your job! You must get tired from all this blogging ;-D

Mayra on March 12, 2010 at 5:49 pm
  33. The playhouse is adorable! My two little girls would play for hours in that I'm sure!! :) Can't wait to hear who wins the beautiful HGTV Home!!

    A Cannada on March 12, 2010 at 6:40 pm
  34. Just a thought I am an impatient person. Some will see the airing before others do due to the time differences. I won't see it until 8PM but for some you will know at 5PM or 7PM so maybe for those earlier viewers could blog who won for those of us who will be seeing it later.
Also I read where some think it can be a live ambush how could that be with the time differences?
    Just a thought
The anticipation is killing me lol

    • I am in Northern California. I have my TV set to record at the 5:00pm airing. I originall thought that California would not see it until 8:00pm…hmmm? sound like a change was made after all. And that does sorta confirm that there is a possibility that the ambush will be LIVE! Yippee!!! And….maybe they changed it to a live ambush because the winner IS A blogger. Then they woudl know that the winner would b home to watch the show. But 5:00pm in California is not the greatest time to catch working people at home.

  35. Oh my goodness. I was sitting here reading the blogs when a very nice car pulled in my driveway. My heart just sank. The driver sat there for a few minutes before he got out, my heart was racing. It is pouring down rain. Then the driver finally got out of his car and ran next door to deliver a pizza. There was no sign on it and in my opinion it was much to nice of a car to be delivering pizza in. I wish everyone would stay out of my driveway except the HGTV team, lol

  36. I am from the Pacific time zone and I will be getting old DH winner news at 8:00 pm. The only year they had it at 5 for me, was for the Colorado DH. It all depends on who your cable company is, I guess. They planned for it to be live, way in advance that year I think. We should all get the show at the same time…..I feel so neglected and forgotten.

Cami on March 12, 2010 at 8:07 pm
    • Cami, I wonder if you could watch it live from your computer???

Cheri on March 12, 2010 at 8:23 pm
      • I will likely only be able to see the short video clips of the winner plus a little info and of course I can read the blogs and MB

Cami on March 12, 2010 at 9:48 pm
  37. So the show is on Monday, but they go to your home on Sunday so they can film it and have it ready for Monday, is that correct?

    Christine8888 on March 12, 2010 at 10:44 pm
    • i thought monday the winner will be at the dream house so thats why i think they already have the winner but we still set here and wait its so funny my dad came to visit my front door is broke so he walked around the back of the house my husband said someone is walking around outside i thought it was them . then i thought my dad dont come and visit that much so i thought does he know something i dont

tammy knight on March 13, 2010 at 6:38 pm
      • No hon it will be a few weeks before they film the winners at the home. I think it is called the winners weekend.

The dream is alive for all of us until 8PM Monday as there is still a chance for it to be a live ambush.

    • The rules say "on or about" which gives them leeway for whatever they want to do. The could surprise the winner on Monday, or it may have already occurred.

  38. still dreamin' the dream. I wish the guy selling the fruit would come back if he was affiliated with HGTV. If not, the fruit sounds good right about now.

  39. I have very little hope that I am the winner of the dream home since I haven't heard from anyone and their is only two days left. It was fun day ddreamining for the moment, now I have to come back to reality and continue to work hard to get my son and I that dream house we always wanted. 40. I know that millions have entered and probably many are deserved, but the weather would be wonderful for me as I have an illness that would respond to the heat and therefore make my life better. My husband also has cancer and the dry heat would be benefital as well. I entered every day and will be hearttbroken if yet another house in a warm climate goes away. Yhanks and good luck to me( that's awful isn't it)

  41. Here's hopping when I fall down the rabbit hole and open the door of the play home, on the other side of the door will be the door to my dream home.

  42. I am so Excited just at the possibility… It's sometimes in life you just have to hold on to the excitement of it all. I wish each and everyone of you the best as I know many are deserving. I will hold on to the feelings I have even if I don't win. I will try my best to keep the positive things in my life and pass on to others good deeds..

Dez on March 13, 2010 at 2:23 pm
  43. Is anyone else out there reading all these excited posts and thinking… this is SAD? So many people hoping and dreaming and even convincing themselves it's them? Probably not you. SUCH A SLIM chance. That being said… I will watch the ambush show anyway! Guilty pleasure.

NJ HGTV watcher on March 13, 2010 at 2:57 pm
  44. OK I am sure this is happening to many, I have realized that they last few days I have been noticing things I have not before. But in reality it is probable that they have always been there, but only the heightened excitement has made them more apparent.. LOL I have noticed a strange vehicle parked not far from here 2 times, 2 prank calls (or my phone is messed up) and of course the noises I have heard many of you mention. Have you guys gotten to this point? I am very curious to hear what you guys have noticed.

    • Hi doll, it was me and a total surprise of my life. Are you related to Pat. Dear Lee, GOOD LUCK with all of your dreams.

Janice Vegas on March 14, 2010 at 3:37 am
      • Congratulations!!!! Can you share how they contacted you, and came to see you? My deceased mother-in-law was a Pat Perry, but no one from here, if that's what you mean.

You are beautiful and look wonderful in the wrap! Still wishing you more luck.

lee perry on March 14, 2010 at 4:28 am
  48. Hi lee,

Thank you for the congrats!! and the compliments. Here is the story- I received an email from HGTV, but did not see the email and opened it on Wednesday late afternoon. By Thursday I heard a knock at the door, and like so many others on the blog got very excited thinking that the Ambush team had come to deliver the shawl. It was the UPS truck, and delivered a box with the most beautiful invisable bow with polka dots around a neatly wrapped turquoise blue shawl. There were two cards, one with a huge smiley face and plenty of little stars that fell out on my lap- that one was from Gail. Monica sent a huge card, with greetings and special words to Keep Dreaming. My message to you lee is the same. GOOD LUCK and KEEP DREAMING. P.S. Are you in the Cleveland area?

Janice Vegas on March 14, 2010 at 7:29 am
    • Congratulations, Janice! You look so beautiful in that shawl!! I bet it's so soft…. puurrrrr

  50. I lost my job 11 1/2 months ago. I have also lost my house car, we are living in our other car and have $6.59 in the bank credit cards maxed out. Winning this dream home in Mew Mexico would more than help my family and I to get back on our feet.I entered on-line, everday from Jan 4 to the final date.
