The Winner of Monica’s Wrap

Good morning, bloggers.
I have some fantastic news to share with you: One of our blogging friends won Monica Pedersen’s beautiful turquoise wrap. A very happy congratulations to Janice Vegas. I know that you will wear the wrap with excitement and style. I know all of the bloggers will join me in happiness knowing that one of our friends has a sweet memory of HGTV Dream Home 2010 to cherish forever!
And hopefully we will have something else to celebrate next week. Watch the giveaway show on Monday night at 8 p.m. EST to find out who gets the home, the SUV and the cash. Will the winner be someone from our blogging community? Only time will tell.
Your Super Fan,
Gail

congrats Janice!!, the wrap is beautiful, and I love the belt, great colors.
Haven't seen your name in quite a while. Wellcome back!
Wow doll, I grabbed that belt before I ran out as an afterthought and got it at a Boston Proper factory sale in Florida on a rack of slightly damaged items for a couple of dollars. It came with a woven short sweater. Good luck and joy this weekend for the HGTV winning.
OK, so where can the rest of us get a similar wrap?
Call Simply Sante Fe, a little shop in Sante Fe, at 505-988-3100 I dont know if they will have any left, but I would put yourself on a list in case they dont. The wrap runs slightly long, so as Monica showcases it so amazingly beautifully hers is tucked in under a concho belt as you can see in the tour of the HGTV DREAM HOME.
Thats PRETTY!!!! I believe the Dream home winner should be someone who really deserves it. I know a few people who lost thier homes when the laws changed here in Washington state with the ARMS… But hey who ever wins will be living in a very nice location and one hell of a house!!!
oh and the car is very sexy too… (would be better then my broken down blazer lol)
Thanks PRETTY GIRLJessica, Best of Good Blessed LUCK and may all of your DREAMS COME TRUE!
Janice,
You are absolutely glowing in that turquoise wrap! You go girl! It's great to read how supportive your husband and daughter were in celebrating your win. Have fun wearing it. We all share in your joy.
Thank you very much for this compliment. Running out to the the Canyon to film, was an opportunity to get away from work and go play. We had such a good time, and allowed me to act like a producer on a set. At one point I started strutting around like a free bird, the wide spread of the shawl allowed me to flap my wings peacock style, the feeling exhilerating.
YOU LOOK MAWVELOUS!!!! Yes, I'm shouting…cause it's worth shouting about! ;^)
Hey doll Susannmac, now that I have absorbed all this, I feel like shouting. I am happy, appreciative about this- no question about it. And now I offer you a shout out, to have much joy, Good Luck, tremendous success and happiness. Good luck for the upcoming HGTV win
Thank you! I read the other blog about how your hubby took the photos…I swear I thought HGTV had a pro do it! Good job hubby! I guess practice does make perfect…
You are a born model and you look like you were BORN to wear this wrap!
Dear Susannamac, thanks for the compliment to Howard, I just yelled out your message to him, and will send your compliment so he can see it. He has been documenting and photographing since my grandma introduced us over 25 years ago. His fascination for photography has offered friends and family scrapbooks, and now CD's. which will allow them to look back at a moment in history. I thank you too, for the compliment and woke up this morning rehearsing them, as a reminder. I can't wait for future programs to put all of our friends on this blog on center stage so you can be honored. Let's think of a way to do this.
Congratulations Janice you looks great and so happy to be the lucky one for the Monica's wrap, beautiful pictures I guess the pictures were took at the Grand Cannon
Dreaming a Dream `.~
Hi AlmaC- the photos were taken right here in Las Vegas at the Redrock Canyon. It is worth seeing, and saw something when we went to take pics that I had never seen before. At about 3 in the afternoon, the mountain range behind us, gave us an opalescence that I had never seen before. It cast a warm blue tone on the land around us.
Congrats to you Little Buddy!
I am so thrilled that a regular blogger won the wrap. It should no longer be called "Monica's Wrap" but Janice's Wrap. You look so happy and wear the wrap well.
I'm still holding out a little bit of hope that I'll be able to share my pics at my new home…
Enjoy your prize – it will be such a wonderful memory of this year's Dream Home.
Thank you professor from your Lil Buddy. What a gracious compliment. I thank you humbly and offer you the best best of Good Luck, fun times, happiness for all of your endeavors and the upcoming HGTV DREAM HOME prize!
Hey little buddy,
Come over to HGTV and see what's going on. Mary came up with a clue involving honey for the new HGTV DREAM HOUSE. Its getting pretty exciting. Coop, Cami An Army Family and a bunch of folk have been lending educated guesses and alot of research. I was going to hang out and watch for awhile, but could not help but chime in. We miss you come on out to play.
As the day draws to a close and the flurry of comments, compliments, hopes and dreams for the winning of the HGTV DREAM HOME came from so many of you on the blog, I want to thank you with big hugs and tremendous appreciation. Thanks to Gail and Monica for cooking up this idea, and for generously giving away Monicas wrap, that we all adored- now the Janice Vegas wrap. Thanks to the fantastic team at HGTV for making Freebie Fridays something we remember from our kid days when you really got to win something amazing and out of the ordinary. I hope this will continue with a new preponderance next contest so that alot of special things can be offered. Thanks fellow bloggies, (blogamadillas my secret word) for the celebration of this win, and will think of all of you when I wear it. I am still dreaming for one of us to win the rest of the West, as one of the bloggies has called it, and Good Luck, special joys, and great success on winning the HGTV HOME. Love to you all, Thunderbird Janice
congratulations,,,,,,,,The wrap fits you like a glove…..
Wow what a beautiful comment. Good Luck and love to you this weekend Yay HGTV!!!!
Congratulations!! I bet you love that
Is it soft? it looks soft
Enjoy.
The amazing part of this is that it feels invisable and yet very warm. It was cold when we took the pics, but swirled it around me and suddenly I was sitting around a warm fire
Oh Janice, It sounds wonderful. Maybe If I ever trip to New Mexico, I ll have to buy one
Enjoy your wrap.
Eileen
Just to go to NM is worth the trip. GOOD LUCK AND KEEP DREAMING!!
Janice, congrats to you ! Tell us how did HGTV get in touch with you to tell you that you won the wrap? Please let me know! And it looks great on you with your dark hair! What a beautiful background are you from that area?
Hi caryn,
I received an email from HGTV, and must have overlooked it cause I go straight to the blog responses. Late Wednesday night I opened it, and popped into bed. Next day I went out to take pictures, and sent them to the HGTV team so they could have them. Voila, when I opened the computer, I was very very surprised at their post thanks to the team, and Gail.Super Fan. They really are a wonderful group of surprising characters and love to revel in our excitement on the blog it appears.
You go girl! You look fabulous! It is such a beautiful color. Congratulations. Maybe the HGTV camera crew is already is Las Vegas waiting to film the winner. What do you think?
Dear Carole Ann, are you my best friend in Florida? At this moment I am wishing and hoping that the HGTV winner has a thrill of a lifetime, filming one of us from the blog. I don't think it will be me, but I am very grateful for the wonderful piece of the turquoise color lemon merangue pie. I wish you FANTASTIC good luck this weekend Dear Carole Ann for the upcoming event.
Carol Ann I haven't seen you recently on the blog, but just wanted to tell you that your comment made my year, so every day I feel like we have all won something. Its part of my new hopes and dreams. Stop by soon!!!
Congrats! Truly lovely! God Bless
God Bless you too princess and GOOD LUCK!!

Lucky- Congratulations!
Lucky to you to dear one. Thank you and GOOD LUCK for everything you think touch plan and do.
Monica, I do not think that you have been thanked enough. You have very good taste and did a good job of not only finding this wrap but of buying it as well. I hope it was not too hard for you to pass the wrap along. Perhaps you bought another one – I hope so. You looked fabulous in it and allowed us to live a little vicariously thru you and the wrap. Once again thank you so much for giving uup the wrap and giving us a turquoise theme that is completel! Sandy
I totally agree with you Sandy LA and hope that Monica has another wrap like this for herself to grace that beautifull lithe body with that amazing turquoise gorgeous personality, gem stone magnicant eyes, and gifted designer sense and work that she does on the HGTV team. She is adored by all of us. Her total genious brought this opportunity to the HGTV blog and am blessed to be a humble recipient
Congrats! It looks great on you!!!
AngelaRae, this is one of the characters in a film I am working on. Angela- a beautiful name!!! GOOD LUCK this weekend and for all of your HOPES and DREAMS!!!!
I wish to say congrats to Janice for winning the wrap.It looks gorgeous on her. I did not enter this contest because my son brought me a beautiful turquoise Pashmina from Bangkok Thailand a few years ago and I truly love the color and will cherish this gift always. Turquoise is one of my most favorite colors. My birthstone is aquamarine and I just love all the colors in this palatte of color. You go girl!
What an extraordinary sharing comment. I'll bet the color and the history of your gift is truly amazing. You sound like an amazing blue stone girl. BLESS and tremendous GOOD LUCK for all of your HOPES and DREAMS. These are Monica and Gail's words.
Thank you for your gracious comment. I wish you BLESSINGS AND GOOD LUCK as well. Take care.
Congratulations! The wrap looks beautiful on you!
Thank you humbly for the congrats and wish you BIG GOOD LUCK, this weekend and everyday.
Hi all,
Janice Vegas here. I copied a message from Sandy LA about Monica Pederson and her work- thought you may like to see it. By the way Monica is a gifted designer and model and has worked for many companies and corporations around the country.
Sandy LA
Monica, I do not think that you have been thanked enough. You have very good taste and did a good job of not only finding this wrap but of buying it as well. I hope it was not too hard for you to pass the wrap along. Perhaps you bought another one – I hope so. You looked fabulous in it and allowed us to live a little vicariously thru you and the wrap. Agreed- it was very sweet and generous of Monica to give up her wrap…thank you Monica for keeping us entertained on HGTV.
You look fabulous in the wrap….like it was made for you! Congrats.
You wear it well, Lucky One … enjoy, and you're Beautiful!
Dear Marilyn, thank you very much for the compliment. I have a feeling that we will all be winning something special in time to come. The other day friends had an Oscar party and made sure everyone that came won something. In my classes each child was sure to win and then got up in front of the room to be "fancy". The moment in the spotlight has been extraordinary, I dont remember a time of compliments like this for over 25 years, I kept to the grindstone pretty much without looking up. This shawl has been a wonderful lift. I wish you the same. GOOD LUCK AND MAY ALL YOUR DREAMS COME TRUE.
looking good janice
Dear janet bennett, thank you soo much. I wish you GOOD LUCK AND KEEP DREAMIN
The wrap is perfect for you Janice! Congratulations on winning — I'm sure you will enjoy it both for its looks and the happy associations that come with it!
Hi C&E thanks very the very lovely compliment. Years ago, I was given a very special book by a friend in college, and I often go to the book shelf and touch it, or open it to navigate memories. This shawl is one of those keepers, to remind me of everyone on this site. HAPPY TURQUOISE TRAILS as Coop says, and KEEP DREAMING, and GOOD LUCK~~
Congratulations Janice! How fun! It's definitely a good color on you! I am sure it will always bring happy memories!
Thank you for the fun compliment, I do love turquoise and the wonderful properties of the stone. I used to traverse Turquoise mines in Az, and In California, outside of Yuma, but never took any from the rocks. Love that blue. GOOD GREAT LUCK AND BLESS!!!!
Oh how awesome, Jan Vegas … You can’t imagine my delight when I visited the blog tonight … My heart soared when I saw that you were the winner of Monica’s shawl … I’m so happy for you! The natural splendor of your surroundings is breathtaking, as are you! These photos capture your inner and outer beauty, and your soul shines through … they are a vision of an artist who is painting the canvas of her life! P.S. Turquoise and cobalt blue are definitely your colors! May you have many treasured moments wearing the shawl!
Deares Both_sides_, Thank you for these amazing compliments, and for all of our remarkable communications. Its been three days now, since the winning of Monica's turquoise wrap, and I have never received so many compliments and expressions of support. I could always give them, but it has been verry hard to receive. Then the wrap whispered its magic, "you are choosing this". and this story has begun to encourage me on so many levels. I hope to be able to give back what you all have given me.
Where are you my dear friend, we had such wonderful poetic conversations. I haven't seen you in a long time, and are very much missed. Should i be looking for another nick or avatar.
Hi again Janzee … I have missed you as well. I was so surprised and tickled pink (and turquoise, too) to receive your last message that you sent to me (and on my birthday, too). I just posted my first post to this year's DH blog, and hope to stay awhile to dream with all of the dreamers. This year's home is beautiful, although I don't feel the same strong connection to the location as I did last year (truly my favorite). I just wanted to thank you again for remembering me … You're an angel, and I still love your pictures!
warm and cozy! how fun!
It's a beautiful wrap for a beautiful lady. . . . .you wear it well! Enjoy!
We could not have had a more gracious recipient than Janice! Her grateful heart is inspiring, she belongs … even taking the time to respond to each one, wishing them well. It is with amazement that a sisterhood was created by one choice that Monica made in selecting something so admired by all! Now, that we come to the end of this time, I leave with one quote I've loved – "Dream no small dreams, for they have no power to move the hearts of men." GOETHE – … So, let us all keep dreaming, sweet friends!
Dearest Marilyn,"
Beautful words, and quote from Goethe with your own personal message of to "be continued". I am going to read the quote to my family tonight, and remind them that my crazy schemes, always start with a dream. This blog has attracted these sweet dreamers and I thank you humbly for the message of belonging. I think the experience you so exquisitely describe has allowed us all to chime in to this sisterhood/brotherhood.
What kind of house warming items? Is it some thing my kids will enjoy such as a gaming for my boy's will enjoy.
You'll see on the special Monday. If I recall correctly they were mostly kitchen stuff.
Congratulations! Color is perfect for you! Does anyone knows if "Simply Santa Fe" has a website? If you know please tell me! Thanks in advance!
I looked love, but did not find one. But they do have a phone if you need it.
Hi Maria, I scrolled back to your post to make sure that you got the number for Simply Sante Fe. As I mentioned I did not find a website anywhere, although if you call them they might give you one. Let me know if you find a website. They descibe some interesting southwestern brocade jackets. Also I think I am going to look into finding the blue bowls that Gail showcased in the kitchen. Do you know where they come from?
Here is the number for Simply Sante Fe. (505) 988-3100
I love wraps but they do nothing for me but you look great wearing that wrap. The color belong's to you Monica, you go girl!!!

Congratulations Janice! I would like to purchase that turquoise wrap. What store can I purchase the wrap?
Hi jacwoolard, I just got back from an outting to Boulder City, and wanted to check back with you pronto. The wrap if there still hanging on the racks, I hope they are is a place called Simply Sante Fe, in NM. Their phone number is 505-9883100. If they are out of stock I would suggest telling them that you are very interest in a reorder. I am saying this because I think I remember Gail saying there were only a few left.
Janice Vegas! Wonderful! Great pics & smile. Perfection.
Have a great week, memories & that's a great wrap!
Puns are great, turquoise wrap, wrapping & that's a rap!
Being received…a rap to be remembered. All the attention
you can feel, imagine, & take hold of, plus more! Fantastic,
having your dreams come, however, that they come, but
come to you, even if UPS.
How long will all of the blog posts stay online? I hope we can still communicate with each other after tomorrow
Thank you & such wonderful sentiments to me.
It's not material things I display or wear
It's me, my attitude I create & share
How we see & view what we choose
It's me, my attitude I shouldn't lose
As our joy holds no bounds
Let's give it a go for many more rounds
Dearest PFG can you please write inspirational funny verse for adults and sell it to Barnes and Nobel. Please put me on the list of your first purchases. I am going to read your poems to my kids tonight. GOOD LUCK TONIGHT and everyday, and here is to the new blog kid.
Hi PGF,
I would like to ask if I could reprint this poem, for the main board, to encourage folks to communicate in a positive way. Or maybe you could write some new verse to enlighten, and spark enthusiasm. You Heritage and Coop are masters of this poetry.
I'm really excited about today,i"m big fan HGTV I have been praying for to be a winner this house today,I really need to see this miracle happening in my life and all my family today(my son anf daugheter are marrieds and today will came to our house to wait this very important moment. Thanks and see you in my home today night.
Hi dear Keyla,
I hope for all of the best to you on the marraige of your children, and wish you tremendous good luck and joy in all of your HGTV fun endeavors.
Janice Vegas,
I wanted to let you know that I shortened my 'Display Name' to, "H_S"…….the sailor formerly known as Heritage_Seeker!
This change, however, was applied to ALL my previous posts — FYI.
Dear H.S.
We must get back to the seas again, to the lure of the engaging sea.
With a buddies grin, as we set the pace, on the new goals yearning.
H.S. at the helm, with the HGTV flag a flying it's called the winners ship.
A new name change, a wonderous rig, lets toast to your success, now take a sip.
I'll drink to that! Cheers!!!
Kind of interesting,
I just went back to try to copy the wrap thread, and noticed the comment I made to you. I wrote the part about the Sea Fever inspiration, but did not write the smooth sailing part, somehow it picked up the former message. Maybe the web gods are giving you a sign H.S.
I will post another reply in awhile, but first I have a question:
When someone replies to your posts, does it show up in your email?
a sign, an omen
Sea Fever inspired wish
smooth sailing we hope
H.S. Check out the HGTV site, everyone has having a good time trying to figure the first clue and what state to light down in. It is a pic of a honey jar with one lone spoon in the jar that has a crystalized appearance of honey sugar on the top.
Next HGTV DREAM HOME= smooth sailing. By the way did you ever see that eerie phenomenon in the keys where the water seems to be illuminated?
The poem Sea Fever by John Masefield was the inspiration. Next HGTV DREAM HOME= smooth sailing. By the way did you ever see that eerie phenomenon in the keys where the water seems to be illuminated?
Janice,
lovely turquoise wrap
dreams, destiny, did conclude
perfect winner found
H_S
Beautiful found verse
smooth sailing, good luck we traverse
wind destiny- SAIL!
H.S. hi,
Your current post as did all the others shows up on my email, then you click on reply and it takes you to the actualy post for option to answer. For some reason on this current thread, I have received your posts, and have to scroll back to a previous comment to answer.
Hello Janice, Hallelujah! I am so happy, joyful, and really excited you won the turquoise wrap! I have just returned from Colorado and trying to play catch up on the Dream Home Blog. I am so delirious (sp) with joy that a Dream Home Blogger won the prize. I knew when I read your blog regarding the turquoise wrap it would be you!!! Thank you for sharing your thoughts and responding to all us bloggers! You are blessing!!!
Hi Snow Chic,
Thank you for this beautiful and very generous comment. By your example there should be some catching up on my side too. I think by some fluke, quirk of mystery the computer gods spun my name and I showed up with my barefoot earth sandals. One of the bloggers called us a sisterhood, and that we have become. I sooo feel that all of us girls could have been the wonderful winner of this lovely wrap, and when I wear it I think of all of my friends-its as though you all gifted me with a wonderful memory of the 2010 DREAM HOME. The compliments and loving friendship have actually changed my life. I don't know where you are in the country, but think it would kind of cool if we could have an HGTV supported blog party over the summer, with prizes food, fun and the delicious banter we have experienced on the site. And P.S. last year I spent some time in Crested Butte Colorado, I was thinking of offering that as a suggestion for the 2011 site. It is one of the most magnificant places
continued
I have seen in my life, and people are ardent warriors for the environment and love the peace and quiet of the land. There are open meadows in the preserve areas with untouched log cabins from amost a hundred years. Bald eagles fly over your head, and the freshness of the earth calls out to you as a tributary to an imminent water source.
Congratulations Janzee/Janice Vegas. I believe this prize has "GOOD LUCK" written all over it!
That smile and that hug you gave the turquoise wrap says it all!! Happy for you.
Redrock Canyon sounds spectacular! The colors must be soooo Grand!

Hoping HGTV gives away some other fabulous small prizes with the next Dream Home!!
(How about a copper plate to hang on a wall…. of course with the picture of the Stowe Dream Home engraved into it.)
I always read your smiles and GOOD LUCK on this blog. It is who you are my dear friend, and what you do.
You will always be a good luck charm my friend! Enjoy your day and trip! Chicago is very interesting!
What can I say Stoney, from one lucky charm to another. All of your words are very special to me, and even when you are not on the blog, I hear your goodness, intelligence, creative and outdoor spirit. Last year, most people on the blog dont know that when I won the shawl, times were hard. It was your love and support, and many friends that gave me a secret stash of well wishing that I could go to every day. I remember one comment you made about wearing a hat in California, when I went to a restaurant to meet bloggers. It sure did perk me up. I think men and woman should mirror each other as human beings and be encouraging. Each one of us here deserves this.
These days, I promised sky father, that I would give back and pay it forward. The people on this blog have become more than words, you are friend. This year my sense is that things will be lighter-easier for yo-, the heater won't poop out, your writing will start taking new pathways, old friends will suddenly appear in your life, and family will keep you very busy. You'll find yourself taking that wonderful deep breath you talk about, and you'll give yourself permission not to be so hard on YOU;
Sorry it’s taken so long for me to reply and I hope this mssg finds you still shining your light. I haven’t been diligently following this year’s dream home blog and I do miss the ah-some conversations. I have entered the 2011 sweepstakes a few times
