HGTV Dream Home 2011 Location Clue Two

I am pretty impressed by your responses to clue number one. As far as your educated guesses go, some are pretty cold, some near a warm zone and one or two seem right on track — maybe (Mary types as she smirks).
Today, instead of a photo, I am sending you on a number hunt. Once you’ve isolated the numbers you think are correct, you may wish to add them up, subtract them, multiply them, order them numerically or concoct your own secret code. All I ask is that you share your theory with the rest of us – mostly because I find this all highly entertaining.
Ready? Put on your thinking cap and get going.

1661 or 1616 or 1611?
1946 ?
So many choices that I can make…….. aughhhhhh
Mary, you told us this!…….
"Did you know that when European dairy cows were brought to America in 1611, they helped end severe starvation in the Jamestown Colony?"
OR….
is it 1621? …. & New York?
[quote] "Black and White cattle were introduced into the US from 1621 to 1664.
The eastern part of the State of New York was the Dutch colony of New Netherlands, where many Dutch farmers settled along the Hudson and Mohawk river valleys. They probably brought cattle with them from their native land and crossed them with cattle purchased in the colony."

1 6 1 9
1 6 0 9
1 6 0 3
1 6 1 3
1 9 1 6
1 9 6 1
1 9 0 3
1 9 3 0
ETC. ETC.
she said to use one digit numbers from the photo captions and they are 1, 6, 1, and 9. If you add them, it's 17…if you multiply them in order it's 54. this is totally driving me nuts!
The caption numbers themselves are: 9, 1, 2 3 .
Rearranged could be 1923. Year Vermont flag adopted.
OR
1. one
2. 6, 10
3. 2010, 59, 2006, 100, zero, 0, 1, 1, 2010, 41
4. third, nine
Out of #1….. I get 1
Out of #2….. I could add 6 + 1 = 7
Out of #3….. I could use the 1
Out of #4….. I could use the 9
Rearranged I could get….. 1791 …. Year Vermont became a state.
OR
Out of #1….. I get 1
Out of #2….. I could use the 6
Out of #3….. I could break down the 41 = 4 + 1 = 5
Out of #4….. I could use the 9
Rearranged I could get….. 9615 …. Vermont is 9,615 sq. miles.
#1. one
#2. 6, 10
#3. 2010, 59, 2006, 100, zero, 0, 1, 1, 2010, 41
#4. third, nine
Out of #1….. I get 1
Out of #2….. I could use 0 in the ten = 0
Out of #3….. I could use the 59 – 41 = 18
Out of #4….. I could use the 3
Rearranged I could get….. 18 – 1 – 0 -3 = 14 …. Vermont is 14 th. state.
OR (this is stretching it)
Out of #1….. I get 1
Out of #2….. I could take 10 + 6 = 16
Out of #3….. I could take 1 + 0 = 1
Out of #4….. I could take 3 X 9 = 27
Rearranged I could get…. 27 + 16 + 1 +1 = 45. Vermont is 45th. biggest state.
OR
Out of #1….. I get 1
Out of #2….. I could use the 6
Out of #3….. I could add all the single digits = 36 = 3 + 6 = then get 9
Or out of #3…. I could add all numbers and get 6,228 = 6+2+2+8 = 18, which = 1+8=9
Out of #4….. I could use the 9
Rearranged I could get….. 1, 6, 9, 9… then 6+1 = 7 and 9 – 9 = 0
So I have 7 and 0 ………….. 0 + 7 squared = 49
= Vermont is 49th. most populous state
Got info here ! http://www.enchantedlearning.com/usa/states/vermo…
Calvin Coolidge was born in Plymouth on July 4, 1872 in Vermont.
(he was the 30th US President, serving from 1923 to 1929).
Out of #1….. I get 1
Out of #2….. I could use the 6
Out of #3….. I could add all the single digits = 36 = 3 + 6 = then get 9
Or out of #3…. I could add all numbers and get 6,228 = 6+2+2+8 = 18, which = 1+8=9
Out of #4….. I could use the 3
Rearranged I could get….. 1, 6, 9, 3 ……. So 6 – 1 = 5 and 9 – 3 = 6 ….. then 5 X 6 = 30 .
30 th.US President from Vermont!

Granite and Steel….
This is from CLUE #4…..
( so might have to do some more numbers for NY for CLUE #2)
1
0
4
2
So rearranged? = 1 4 2 0 =
N = 14th. letter in alphabet
Y = 20th. letter in alphabet
NY = NEW YORK??
1, 0, 4, 2 or 1, 0 14, 42 either way map coordinates for Missoula Montana longitude is 114, 0, 42
1. one = 1
2. 6, 10 ?
3. MOTHER LOAD!! 2010, 59, 2006, 100, 0, 0, 1, 1, 2010, 41…..?
4. third, nine ?
The Province of New Hampshire was a crown colony organized on October 7, 1691
1 6 1 9 = rearranged = 1 6 9 1
1. 1
2. 0
3. 0
4. 9
1 X 9 = 9 So 0009 New Hampshire is the 9th. state.
1609 is when Samuel de Champlain explored the lake now known as Lake Champlain which lies mainly between NY and VT.
Good Tammy!
(For those who want to use these numbers to get their location choice to match.)
From Mary:
CLUE#2 – Sending you on a number hunt. Once you’ve isolated the numbers you think are correct, you may wish to add them up, subtract them, multiply them, order them numerically or concoct your own secret code. Want you to know that each clue is indeed legitimate — a little tricky, but a crumb that will lead you on the trail to the correct answer. I’m going to give you a little help. You are looking for ONE, and only one, ONE-digit number in each CAPTION. Disregard the photo of the compass — the image is not a clue and will not help you determine the location.
A. Slide#9 – (one) . . . . . . . . so 1
B. Slide#1 – 6 x 10 . . . . . . . . . so 6, 0
C. Slide#2 – 2010, 59, 2006, 100, (zero), 0, 1, 1, 2010, 41 . . . . . . so, 2,0,1,5,9,6,4
D. Slide#3 – (third), (nine) . . . . . so 3, 9
(I get maybe?…..1, 6, 0, 3 OR 1, 6, 1, 9 . . . . OR try some other combos? )
(Then play with those numbers if you need to.)
