HGTV Dream Home 2011 Location Clue Seven
I was strolling down a country lane and a lovely flower stopped me dead in my tracks. Isn’t it pretty? Can you identify it? I am hoping for 2,000 posts on this one!

School-wide data and video-capable multimedia network will allow any work station on campus to access a central database of information to share relevant software or to access the Internet.
Nothing brings a community together quite like open space.
No matter where you are in Del Sur, there’s probably a park within walking distance, as four of the planned eight parks are complete. Each park is designed with its own pool and its own personality. Whether you’re looking for a quiet place to unwind in the shade or a playground in the sun, each park offers a different outdoor experience for residents.
Haaland Glen Park
Featuring a rock wall amphitheatre, a large open lawn and picnic area, and swimming pool, this park offers space for the whole community to come together.
Reagan Glen Park
A large pear orchard distinguishes this park – providing shade for the playground and seating area that surrounds the pool.
Driscoll Memorial Park
A large, colorful playground is the focal point of this community area, with plenty of green space around the pool.
Beltaire Park
Here, you’ll find a bocce ball court set along an olive grove with handmade tile markers and an artisan-crafted scoreboard.
High Rose Park
Situated at the edge of a canyon, High Rose Park provides easy access to the regional trail system for hikers and bikers. And for those too young to venture out on their own, a mini racetrack for tricycles will be a highlight.
Old Stonefield Park
With plenty of shade and an enclosed play area with swings, this is the perfect place for youngsters to come and play.
No matter where you wander, there’s always a path to lead you back home.
More than 4,600 acres of land flow through Black Mountain Ranch – weaving between houses, through the canyons of Santaluz and Del Sur and around the property. 18 miles of trails traverse the land, connecting the homes and community parks over hills, down into ravines and across open space – giving residents new paths to wander each day. Visit the Ranch House to view a map of Del Sur’s many trails.
Steak comes from cows. A cow was a clue. Texas has cows and cowboys. I liked Roy Rogers and Dale Evans. I liked the Lone Ranger and Tonto. I liked the Cisco Kid. Paul Newman played Billy the Kid.
I read somewhere that multi-media rooms are the new "family" room and that home theaters by themselves are out. Maybe the new dream home will come with a dreamy multi-media room…what would you want to see in there?
Mary !!!
Even though my blogging brain is fried, I just realized something. The survey about where you would like to see the dream home. If it is indeed on the Big Island it would be near a mountain, near a beach, in a historic location and near a big city if you count commuting by flying to another island which would take less time than driving to a big city in some cases.
New clue! Though I don't think I like it!
Maybe they use this input here for future homes.
Thanks for your kind words
Me and "Khaz and Simi"—two pampered cats—I write for fun these days.

OK….that's what I call a curve ball!
Park Slope is a neighborhood in the western section of Brooklyn, New York City's most populous borough. Park Slope is roughly bounded by Prospect Park West to the east, Fourth Avenue to the west, Flatbush Avenue to the north, and 15th Street to the south, though other definitions are sometimes offered.[2][3][4] It takes its name from its location on the western slope of neighboring Prospect Park. Seventh Avenue and Fifth Avenue are its primary commercial streets, while its east-west side streets are populated by many historic brownstones.
Park Slope is characterized by its historic buildings, top-rated restaurants, bars, and shops, as well as close access to Prospect Park, the Brooklyn Academy of Music, the Brooklyn Botanic Garden, the Brooklyn Museum, the Brooklyn Conservatory of Music, and the Central Library (as well as the Park Slope branch) of the Brooklyn Public Library system.
The neighborhood had a population of about 62,200 as of the 2000 census,[6] resulting in a population density of approximately 68,000/square mile, or approximately 26,000/square kilometer.
Park Slope is considered one of New York City's most desirable neighborhoods. It was named one of the "Greatest Neighborhoods in America" by the American Planning Association in 2007, "for its architectural and historical features and its diverse mix of residents and businesses, all of which are supported and preserved by its active and involved citizenry." [2].
In December 2006, Natural Home magazine named Park Slope one of America's ten best neighborhoods based on criteria including parks, green spaces and neighborhood gathering spaces; farmer’s markets and community gardens; public transportation and locally-owned businesses; and environmental and social policy.[7] Park Slope is part of Brooklyn Community Board 6.
The area that today comprises the neighborhood of Park Slope was first inhabited by the Native Americans of the Lenape people. The Dutch colonized the area by the 1600s and farmed the region for more than 200 years. During the American Revolutionary War on August 27, 1776, the Park Slope area served as the backdrop for the beginning of the Battle of Long Island, also called the Battle of Brooklyn, the first pitched battle between the British and the Continental Army under the command of George Washington. In this battle, over 10,000 British Redcoats and Hessians routed outnumbered American forces at Battle Pass. What appeared as a major defeat for the Continentals was actually the first of many of Washington's tactical retreats. The historic site of Battle Pass is now preserved in Prospect Park, and on Fifth Avenue there is a reconstruction of the stone farmhouse where a countercharge covered the American retreat.
19th-century development
The architectural details of one of Park Slope's buildings.
In 1814, ferry service from the nearby Brooklyn Terminal linked the South Brooklyn region to Manhattan. By the 1850s, a local lawyer and railroad developer named Edwin Clarke Litchfield (1815-1885) purchased large tracts of what was then farmland. Through the American Civil War era, he sold off much of his land to residential developers. During the 1860s, the City of Brooklyn purchased his estate and adjoining property to complete the West Drive and the southern portion of the Long Meadow in Prospect Park.
Park Slope’s bucolic period ended soon after. By the late 1870s, with horse-drawn rail cars running to the park and the ferry, bringing many rich New Yorkers in the process, urban sprawl dramatically changed the neighborhood into a streetcar suburb. Many of the large Victorian mansions on Prospect Park West, known as the Gold Coast, were built in the 1880s and 1890s to take advantage of the beautiful park views. Today, many of these buildings are preserved within the 24-block Park Slope Historic District, one of New York's largest landmarked neighborhoods. By 1883, with the opening of the Brooklyn Bridge, Park Slope continued to boom and subsequent brick and brownstone structures pushed the neighborhood's borders farther. The 1890 census showed Park Slope to be the richest community in the United States.
In 1892, President Grover Cleveland presided over the unveiling of The Soldiers and Sailors Arch at Grand Army Plaza, a notable Park Slope landmark.
The Old Stone House is a 1930 reconstruction of the Vechte-Cortelyou House which was destroyed in 1897. It is located on Third Street between Fourth and Fifth Avenues, beside the former Gowanus Creek.

Sorry I am not Coop, but did you know that there is a clue 8 up? You seem to be the only one left on here lately. But yet, not too many people have been on the new clue yet, and I have felt lonely on it thinking everyone left it too. I need to do some sorting of books now so I will maybe come back on later tonite. Thanks for all your hard work of finding all this information you are also a walking encylopedia too! Ha ha
Thank you 1LMichele. I was looking for some of the long time bloggers, going through the last few days, even the last month, some seem to be missing. Anyway….. I always love hearing from you!!!
I'll be waiting and wondering!!! LOL!!!
Oh for sure!!! This law is so wrong! And the amendments the legislature made to it today are even more chilling. Now law enforcement agencies can question anyone for bizzare minor infractions such as an unkept lawn—-they can knock on your door for this infraction—and that gives them legal authority for questions about papers etc. How chilling is that? Have they lost their minds?
Thank you Me&Khaz&Simi!!!
YEP! that dream Family Media Room of yours works great for me too!
GOLFERS WILL HAVE IT ALL AT VINITERRA

A fully stocked pro shop, practice ranges, and a teaching studio with professional instruction will be available. Viniterra will offer the very best of Virginia wine and golf.
PURE, UNTOUCHED VIRGINIA COUNTRYSIDE
Viniterra will offer miles of paved walking, biking, and jogging trails that meander through untouched natural areas and lead to The Club at Viniterra and to The New Kent Winery.
REES JONES’ VISION FOR THE COURSE AT VINITERRA
“The overall design philosophy at Viniterra was to work with the natural site elements to create a variety of memorable holes that genuinely challenge more accomplished players, but remain playable and enjoyable for average and beginning golfers.
We wanted to create as much diversity as possible, in all aspects of the design, to help ensure that all players could enjoy each round.
The club will utilize five sets of tee markers on each hole to allow the club to shift each set of markers on a daily basis if so desired to create a wide range of yardage fluctuation, providing a continually varied experience for the members.
The diversity of the natural topography is unique and we worked very hard to insure the course maximized the various plateaus, rolls, and valleys of the site. Each hole fits the existing contours, so that very little grading was required.
By making the best use of the varied topography throughout the site, we were able to incorporate a variety of wetland areas, both as strategic hazards and as aesthetically unique course components. The site also features a nice blend of wooded and open areas, which creates more diversity among the holes and throughout the round.
This course also features a unique and dramatic collection of Par 3 holes. Varied in yardage and orientation, each hole incorporates a significant, natural 'draw' as a strategic hazard. And by including a variety of tees and angles of play, we ensured that each hole is also enjoyable for less experienced players.” —Rees Jones

Timbers from an old pier in Portland were repurposed as ceiling trusses and trellises. And reclaimed oak from a 19th century barn was given new life as the Ranch House floor. Cabinetry and ceilings are built with recycled sunflower husks and wheat waste creating a beautiful, sustainable option to hardwood. Lumber waste from construction was ground up and used as mulch. And stones quarried from the site were used to create the building’s fireplace, façade and signature landscape walls.

Kristen Glen Park
Here, a wildflower meadow, a peaceful garden and a stone and glass labyrinth provide a quiet place to relax and meditate. A lap pool to work out the stresses of the day is also planned.
I think the location is Tupelo, Mississippi. They have rattlesnakes,Tupelo Honey, Dairy Cows and Magnolia Trees with that beautiful flower.
At first I would say rhododendrum, but I have a few of those in my yard and they are pretty much a solid color. It does look like a type of Iris as well – but then again, I have some beautiful azaleas that look a lot like this, But it could also be a lilly.
I'm clueless as a lot of these plants grow in several states.
It's Pigeon Forge, TN ! GEESH!…..lol
