  1. Hi everyone, it's me, the Facebook Debra Gilmour. I finally figured out the Intensedebate thing so my ID and picture are different (can i get a thumbs up for only taking over a week to figure that thing out…?!).

If the r of Tennessee is what put a damper on our reveal, then this Oregon girl can help out. Jack, Mary, you need to find a new location that is not in the Mississippi Valley floodplain. Living in Oregon I know a bit about all that… So here are some suggestions:
1.) Stay away from any area that is designated as a floodplain on every map since the "great flood" of…
2.) Stay away from any area that is so earthquake prone you have to bolt your dressers, china cabinets (empty, of course) and bookcases to the walls .
3.) Steer clear of places with named slide zones. As my husband tells me, "there are slides you fix, and then there are slides you name…" Areas with ones that have names are NOT a good sign…

Clearly this narrows down the possibilities, BUT Virginia doesn't have any of those issues and would be FABULOUS! (PS: Hawaii is a good second if you don't count the mini-earthquakes and that pesky volcano….)

    • Ahhh come on Kilauea is just trying to connect Hawaii with the mainlands, It may take another million years but it will bridge the gap eventually. And the Beach Boys think Good Vibrations are great.

  9. When did the pic get switched?????

I see the letter "C" from the reflection of the faucet with the granite counter. C possibly = Crown Point OR CATSKILLS or Connecticut or Curveball….lol

Trish on May 12, 2010 at 10:31 pm
  10. 2 Granite clues now……hmmmmm….

Lisa on May 12, 2010 at 11:04 pm
  11. RE: recent blog entry….what ABOUT sticky buns???? I don't see any in any of the clues.

  12. Granite is still the State stone of North Carolina. In fact, granite serves as the state rock or state stone of Massachusetts, New Hampshire, North Carolina, South Carolina, Vermont and Wisconsin.
My bet is still on NC, well maybe SC should be considered.

KarinLH on May 12, 2010 at 11:31 pm
  13. Love the new double bowl tan granite countertop. Just what I have been looking for. BUT ALL STORES AROUND HERE DO NOT CARRY LONG 61" COUNTERTOPS LIKE THIS ON THEIR SHELVES. :( And special ordering is triple the price. I feel like epoxy-glueing two 31" countertops together. OH LLORDY, WHERE IS MIKE HOLMES WHEN YOU NEED AN EXPERT?

Is it Vermont? Vermont’s cattle is Randall Lineback Livestock. http://www.hobbyfarms.com/livestock-and-pets/Rand… In the Beginning
During the early- to mid-1600s, the ancestors of today’s Randall Linebacks arrived on our Eastern coast aboard sailing ships from points throughout Europe.

    Is it New Hampshire?
    Or New York?

  14. While looking at the bathroom sink, I see a reflection of the towels and faucet. Could Dream Home 2011 be built in Washington, DC? See reflecting pools—Lincoln Memorial , Washington , DC.

  16. It could be classified as "Deformed Rocks from the Middle Proterozoic basement of the North American craton , last deformed and metamorphosed to high grade one billion years ago…", It is found exposed in the Adirondacks. It seems to be about the shape of the lines and coloration. (???)

  17. I just KNOW it is Montana! Diamondback Rattlesnakes are the number one snake in Montana. And granite is in the Mountains. Montana= mountains… It's just got to be… Anaconda is a town in Montana (also synonymous with snake). We'll see :-)

    sothat7 on May 13, 2010 at 5:27 am
    • And Anaconda, Montana is in Granite County! Granite, Mont. used to be known for silver mining – shiny things!! Anaconda is definitely in the mountains – I've been there.

  18. Where did the picture of the kitchen go? Why has it been replaced with a bathroom picture (with more granite)? Hmmmm . . .

    E&M on May 13, 2010 at 10:09 am
  19. E&M…… Must mean shaped G.R.A.N.I.T.E. is the clue. Alot of statues and monuments are also made out of granite. Love the older lamppost bases and curbs that are made out of granite. Even the Egyptians used G.R.A.N.I.T.E. LOL

OPRAH………………….. do you know where the 2011 HGTV Dream Home will be built? :)

BARBARA STRODTBECK on May 13, 2010 at 9:56 pm
  28. Ok that confirms my guess of Virginia….. the countertops look like a granite to me and there was a town in Virginia named Granite ( which is now part of Richmond VA) . VA also has dairys and honeybees, and unfortunately the rattlesnakes as well. Yep Va. is my guess…….somewhere around Richmond,
here check it out and let me know what u guys think. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Granite,_Virginia

  29. I don't follow the clues…just a hunch…no. 3 just popped up in my mind…it must be the third state of the nation – New Jersey, practically close to New York where so much metropolitan perks one can have.

Cristina on May 16, 2010 at 7:25 am
  30. Personally, I'd like to see it in a warm climate but I think you should choose whatever state gets the most votes.

Barbara Waters on May 16, 2010 at 2:54 pm
  31. I'm confused about the references to "kitchens." The photo in clue nine is a bathroom. Aside from that, all clues considered, I'm thinking it's Vermont…or NYC…

aerosgal on May 16, 2010 at 7:59 pm
  32. New York City + Wshington D.C. has lots of marble NYC had the largest building with the most marble now it is different i think.

    melissa_again on May 17, 2010 at 4:23 am
    • I agree with you. Then I look at the picture again, and I see the colors sand and silver. In the soap dish, I see tourquoise. I would like New York. Every guess I see is correct. Confusion reigns.

andhope on May 17, 2010 at 5:34 am
      • Absolutely it is staring right at ya confusion I think the picture in the mirrors reflection has something weird going on!!!

        melissa_again on May 21, 2010 at 5:32 am
  33. There used to be a different granite countertop picture clue here.
It was a kitchen with a huge island with a granite countertop.

Now the bathroom granite countertop picture has replaced it.

The faucets remind me of NIAGARA FALLS, NY. Ya know….. running water!

    What does Mary say?
